My parents have been at Brookdale Burr Ridge for almost 18 months. They previously lived in Florida, but my dad's health issues made it impossible for them to be on their own anymore. Long story short, it was a quick yet stressful move for everyone. I was very nervous about moving them to assisted living, and fully expected them to hate it. Yes, the first couple of weeks were rough. But to my surprise, they settled into a routine and began to enjoy their new home. My mom speaks highly of all the staff ("There's no Nurse Ratched here," she tells me constantly). They both enjoy the food. They love sitting in the little courtyard in the warmer weather. Pre-COVID they were pretty involved in activities, including church services, Bible study, a fitness group, and game nights. To say I was shocked at how well they settled in would be an understatement! I am very grateful we found Brookdale, and especially thankful for everyone there who works to make my parents' experience such a good one. It may not be the fanciest place, but almost everyone here is kind and caring and does their best to make it feel like home.

The location is wonderful with the park across the street. The caregivers are wonderful and so helpful! I like my walk-in shower and washer/dryer so I can be independent.

I looked at Summit Place a year before mom moved in, I was impressed with the people I dealt with. At Summit Place she is not just a number. They were so helpful with helping my mom adjust. My mom suffers from depression and anxiety so it was a hard process. Every member of the staff down to the kitchen staff were so helpful to make this move successful. They do not cater to limited diets but do always have Salmon and Chicken as a dinner options.

I feel Rock Run is a good value. The way the community is laid out they have a lot of ramps on the first floor which may be hard for those people getting around independently to navigate. We have been happy overall.

A good value for your money. The staff are kind to the residents as well as the residents' families. They seem to genuinely care about the residents and have a personal relationship with them. My mom likes the food. The APFM representative that I worked with recommended this community and said not to overlook it. I am so glad I took his advice!

We enjoyed our tour as this location did not remind us of a typical senior home due to the homey cottages and outdoor access. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. The showering in the Hall was a deal breaker- otherwise we loved it!

Woodside turned out to be a great choice for my 92 year old dad. He is adjusting to his new space and making new friends.

Nice new facility with plenty of inside and outside gathering places and plenty of activities planned. The independent living section was buzzing with activity. However, given the assisted living section recently opened and is not full it it was difficult to determine how resident and staff interactions would occur. Variety of floor plans for assisted living residents.

I found this facility to be an adequate environment if a person only wants a one-room with bathroom accommodations. Additional care options are available based on a nurse's assessment.

My initial impression was not great when they couldn't find my tour reservation. But while I was sitting and waiting, I saw a lot of friendly and good interaction among residents and staff -- even the staff that was cleaning the floors. My visit turned out well. Al answered my questions and gave a clear picture of life there. I really liked that they gave a skilled nursing section as well as assisted living and memory care. The layout of the rooms is nice, and they all have two big windows to let in light. They seem very committed to getting residents out of their rooms and involved with each other doing all sorts of activities. I think it is a nice option for mom if she can afford it.

Staff is friendly and professional. Food is good and they have plenty to eat.

After touring numerous facilities for my loved one, it was such a relief to find Rock Run. They were concerned about his well being and needs from day one. They went above and beyond to help us make a smooth transition. The staff are wonderful. I would definitely recommend Rock Run.

[Name removed], the activities director, gave us a nice tour. She greeted every resident we passed by name and knew a great deal about what the facility offered. When we arrived, a singer was serenading a very happy packed room. We were impressed with the many activities there for the residents. This place was extremely reasonable and also accepts a Medicaid waiver. We would feel very comfortable having our parents live there.

This is a very lovely place in a beautiful setting. The guide was warm, friendly and understanding, the residence was very clean and odorless, the décor is beautiful and there are many inviting common areas and activities.

I visited facility for about 15 Min. I was impressed with the cleanliness and "home like" feel. It is quiet, bright and has a friendly atmosphere. Their dinning room looks more like a nice restaurant. There was a lot of carpeting throughout and still no odor...got to be tough to keep that clean...very impressive. Their prices were reasonable. They have RN on duty. Good overall first impression of the few staff I met. Didn't give 5 stars only because difficult to evaluate completely in 15 minutes.

The people there were very friendly and warm. The main sell was the fact that they have BOTH asst. living as well as skilled nursing. I also loved the decor, it was very beautiful and up to date!

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Aunt. There were a few reasons why I didn’t pick this facility but the biggest one is just the location. The marketing director was very helpful and informative. They answered all of our questions and gave us clear answers. It’s a very quiet and clean facility. I would recommend it to other families.

We looked at Brookdale, and liked it very much. [Removed] was wonderful. We also like the size of the apartments she showed us. I think, however that this community was just a bit too quiet for my loved one.

I was very impressed both with the facility and with [Removed]. My intent is to go back with my dtr [Removed] for another visit and probably schedule a move in date. It is a very nice facility that meets my needs unless I find something I like better before I am able to get out of this [Removed] I am in....
