My mom lived here for the last 4 months of her life or so. They were wonderful to her, and wonderful to us as we kept the vigil by her deathbed. She was in the Montessori unit in building 8. They provided her with dignity right up to the end. I am forever grateful for the care they showed my mom.

Overall, I think it's a very nice facility, I think the care is okay, it's hard for me to really assess because I'm not there very often. I can say that she gets her medcation very well everyday, but I don't know how frequently the nursing staff or the doctor sees her. When I ask my sister, the kind of answers I'm getting from her aren't very clear. She's a very private person and very selective on what she does. She had been in a place in New York before so she had the experience of what a facility is like and I think this facility is superior from a phsyical standpoint. The building is beauitful, well maintained, the activities they have are quite comparable to what they had in New York, she would say "they're all the same" but she's quite ciritcal. I don't think I could satisfy her wherever I put her, I'm never going to get her to say "this is wonderful," but as far as I'm concerned, you can't get a better value in this area.

In reality Willow Lake was chosen out of desperation, we were set to move to another place but circumstances led us here and I actually ended up liking Willow Lake better. It is hard to rate the value as I don't have much to compare it to, I looked at several different facilities but all provided different ranges of care services, so there was no real "apple to apple" value comparisons I could make. My mother likes Wilow Lake very much.

It feels as if the staff takes a personal interest in our mother. The administration is available by text for any questions or concerns. They were very accommodating when we had to place our mom at Commonwealth. From the initial phone call to set up a tour, have a medical exam/assessment, set up the apartment, and move in was 10 days, which was very fast. One of the selling features for us was the availability of their medical group. All of her medical needs are covered through this group.

When we first arrived, I expected someone designated to welcome us. Instead staff seemed to be surprised by our arrival and didn't quite know what to do with us. The room likewise was unprepared. Minimal cleanliness, no toilet paper in the restroom. The facility I had first chosen declined her. They said she needed a higher level of care than they could provide. Devonshire offered to assess her. They accepted her.

I am very impressed. I had a question and the director came to my cottage to provide the answer. Love the personal attention and care. The people in independent living are very friendly. It has been a really great experience. I certain would recommend it. I really like the fact it is outside of Salisbury. It is quiet and pleasant.

I give them 4 stars, not 5 because my mom says the nighttime staff are not as good as daytime staff, plus she's not super pleased with the meals. Overall the place is nice and I have enjoyed the daytime staff that I have met. I think part of her dissatisfaction is due to wanting to be at home and enjoy her home cooking. But she knows that her house is not suited for accessibility and that she needs to get stronger.

We are very happy with the care my mom is receiving in the memory care unit at Commonwealth. The staff is patient and caring. Mom loves the food.

Food was good. You have different choices for each meal and if you don't care for what is on the menu, you can order something different. Staff was very pleasant and helpful always. I would recommend them to others who are searching for care for their loved one.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The Sales Exec and Executive Director represent the facility well, provide compassion to a family making a difficult decision about their loved one's next phase of life.

The staff is very friendly. The meals are decent overall. The response time to the call button is slow at times, which can be frustrating. They do a not appear to have enough staff especially on the weekends, which likely contributes to delays. The rooms are nice and bathrooms are roomy for a wheelchair or walker.

The staff is caring and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The community offers comfortable gathering spaces where residents can relax, socialize, and participate in activities. There are a variety of activities available each day, providing opportunities for engagement and enjoyment. While not everyone participates in every offering, there is something for everyone, and the atmosphere remains friendly and inclusive.

The staff - personal care, PT, OT, reception, nursing - are kind and competent. Mom likes her room. The food is okay and is the reason for the 4 stars.

Overall experience - Admin snafus at the end regarding getting the refund for the balance. Took a long time and had to be resubmitted due to them sending the check so late that the bank rejected it and had to reissue a new check. 2. Cleanliness - The main ding is that the admin/finance lady had a very cluttered office and there were small ants crawling around. The rest of the facility was clean. 3. Friendliness - Staff was great 4. Quality of Care - [Name Removed] provided the majority of care but the staff seemed to be good. 5/ Administrative Staff - Main ding was disorganization and refund issues for the pre-paid balance. 6. Food - The food seemed well prepared. 7. Activities - The did make her get out of bed a few times to socialize a little but largely n/a given the situation. 8. Value for the money - They did a good job of accomodating us on short notice and provided what was needed.

The management staff handled our situation and stressed feelings with great care and concern. The general staff treat our mom like their own family and always greet us with updates or stories. The activities and amenities (like the hair salon) are super convenient for keeping mom engaged in "normal" activities.

Honestly, with the exception of not having luck with his diabetes management, we love everything. The staff members are very friendly. They have many activities, which he loves.

The staff and the facility were great. It's only drawback is that it is in Virginia. My advice to families is... if your loved one has a risk of falling ( out of bed or out of their wheelchair), stay out of Virginia.

Compared to similar places we saw I would rate Commonwealth as 5 starts as some places were just not appealing at all. Overall however I would say our experience was a 4.5. We were happy with the size of the room, the cleanliness of the place and the care of mom. The office staff was exceptionally good and most of the care staff as well. We visited at all times of the day and evening and the care seemed to be consistent. Mom chose not to participate in the activities so we don't have much to comment on those but there appeared to be plenty there she could have taken advantage of. The food was probably the least impressive of the areas to rate. We would probably give that a 3. It seemed to consist of lots of cafeteria style canned food that was average but not very appealing. There were times we felt she could have used more help with feeding than she got. I don't know if it was a function of them being busy or just not going the extra mile. We realize there is limited time with every resident and mom didn't always make it easy by being a picky eater or just refusing food frequently. We would have appreciated more of a heads up that hospice would have been useful and possibly improved her care and pain management toward the end. We would recommend the facility to others looking for care for a family member.

Clean and caring. It is an excellent facility, clean and caring. If your loved one requires an elevated level of care, thoroughly discuss your expectations so there is no miscommunication. Please emphasize their dietary needs.

It is a passion for some of the staff, and a job for others on the staff, for any of these facilities... Location-wise for our family, Common Wealth was priceless for the short time of 15 days and her passing... A "Place for Mom" really came through for us... Common Wealth was my mom's 3rd place of stay, in her very active end of life journey. A place for mom was very helpful.
