Terrible

First I would say, if you care about your loved one then don't take them here. I've walked into Mom's room and here are a few situations that I observed. Dirty diaper under her bed covers. Poop on the top and bottom of the toilet seat. Puke in her garbage can and in her bed as she laid in it.. This time went to hospital and was dehydrated. Another time walked in and Mom was laying in her bed moaning in pain. Went to hospital and her body was septic. Urine had been smelling bad for over a week and they never took any actions towards it. Which later I found out that smell in her urine was a yeast infection that led to her body being septic. It turned into an infected kidney. 40 plus days in the hospital. Both times I found her in these situations and had to make them call the ambulance. I can only imagine what would of happened to Mom if I wasn't around. I can tell you the communication between people working the floor and administration is a zero. Terrible administration.

Amenities

If you talk to the residents of Harvard Park without the management being around, you will probably find out that this place is not what they say it is. They talked me into moving here by telling me that they have housekeeping every week, that you get 3 gourmet meals a day, and that they have a bus driver to take you wherever you need to go. The problem is for the 2 years that I have lived here I have never had my room cleaned every week. They can not keep maids here. They don't treat them right or pay them enough. The food is horrible. They served us beef pot pies with nothing in them. They were just crust that was it. And when I complained they said that that was all there was. As for the bus driver. They could not find a bus driver because of the odd hours they want him to work. The only thing that you can count on at Harvard Park is that they will raise your rent every year. Some people had their rent raised over $[removed]. Where are people on a fixed income suppose to get that?

Dangerous Assisted Living

My mother has been at Andara for many years and in assisted living for 2 years. They have had three management companies move in in the last 3 years and everything has gone drastically downhill. They just cut out the music performance and happy hours every Saturday and are understaffed in assisted living. The investor owners have been begged to do something about this for 2 years and they will not. It's all about the profit. At this time the food is inedible much of the time. Whatever you do, do not put your loved one in the Assisted Living at Andara.

Harvard Square Review

1. Our overall experience with the guy we first met( sorry can't remember his name)was great. He was pleasant and I felt like he was very sincere. Shortly after we met the nurse, who had questions about mom and how she was doing in her medication and I feel like she was OK too. After that it kind of went downhill because I feel like the only thing they were interested in was getting the money. Every single day she ask me to sign the papers and write a check. 2. And for the most part, my mothers apartment was clean and I truly believe that's because I was there every single day making sure mom had everything she needed. Not one time. Did I see anyone come in and clean up or even help clean up my mom's place. I guess the facility was up to par although it did have a distinct odor but I guess when you're working with insufficient staff members it's gonna smell less than great. 3. I have no complaints about the staff members there. They were very nice and friendly. 4. The quality of care they gave my mother was less than adequate. My mother would frequently ring the nurses bell, and no one would answer, due to lack of staff. My mother would frequently call me at night telling me no one is answering her call bell, and she has to go to the bathroom. I frequently had to go over there and help my mother which I felt was totally absurd. It became so bad that my mother became depressed and had a failure to thrive. I stayed there every single night to help her until mom transitioned and we put her back in the hospice. Had I known the care there was so poor I would never have put my mother in a place like that. It may be good for some people, but it was not good for me and my family. Guess the activities were good. Never really got to enjoy them. 7. Extremely over priced for the care she received, considering my daughter and myself were the ones taking care of her. Changing her bed, getting her to the bathroom, bathing her and making sure she ate. Had I known the poor quality of care offered, I would have never ever put her in there. I blame myself everyday for putting my mom in that place. I realize she was 103 years old but she did much better in her own place and she was happy. Even though we had to travel a little to take care of her she thrived because the quality of care was good and she felt good. The quality of care at Harvard was less then adequate for her and she passed within 2 months. On a scale from 1-5 , they would get a 1 from me. Like I said, I felt they gave less than adequate care to my mother. When you place a parent or anyone in a facility that has promised to help take care of them, that's what should happen. Unfortunately that is not what happened and I was extremely disappointed. My rating for this facility is that it is below average and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Do not recommend

I am concerned for the remaining residents living at the Regent. The turnover of the staff makes us residents feel like we have no one to trust or go to if we need something. The Assistant Manager is extremely unprofessional and rude to me and my family. I've heard him with my own ears, say the meanest and most hurtful things to myself and other residents. My daughter is helping me move out of this community because it is no longer safe. The hallways smell so bad, the staff is not pleasant and the girl cook who's been there for a few years (I believe she lives there as well) is really rude to the us and I think she purposely serves us cold food because she does not like our table. Excuse us for complaining that the food is cold, or the pork is undercooked (blood was actually oozing from the pork when we cut it, and when we asked her too cook it longer she served it to us after the dining room was emptying and it was so BURNT it was inedible). I cannot recommend Regent to anyone.

Horrible experience

My loved one was here for two weeks and it was a horrible experience. They also tried to bill me for breaking a contract for their uncleanly, unprofessional atmosphere. It should not even be on a rating scale, I'd rate them at zero if I could. They treat everything as a joke, I felt. End of life is not a joke.

Disappointed

Higher level assisted living residents should use caution. My dad arrived as a 1 person transfer or standby transfer (wheel chair) and left with them stating he was a 3 person transfer. He came with a completely healed and closed bed sore and left with it a completely open and beginning infection. His rate went up almost double and I blame it entirely on the lack of care they gave him in the short month that he was there. Staff did not follow state requirements for keeping in contact with me (his daughter, POA and the one who dealt with everything moving him in and signing all his paperwork) and did not notify me of any assessments completed until I called due to the dramatic increase in his costs. He was quarantined due to a flu outbreak at the rehabilitation prior yet he had no symptoms. The night nurse in charge of his care, when I asked, said he had tested positive for covid and that he was symptomatic which had him quarantined longer than he should have been. Services such as pt, ot, etc. Were not provided during that time. Since leaving, he was luckily back to a one to person assist for transfers within a week. This place is money hungry and does not provide quality care for those that need it.

Edmonds Landing has declined in quality

Good: Edmonds Landing has an incredible location right in the heart of downtown Edmonds. You can walk to restaurants, coffee shops, the beach, and the senior center. They freshly painted the halls and updated the community furniture to make it look lighter and brighter. Bad: They are on their 3rd manager in less than 12 months. They have done budget cutbacks, turning over their staff, letting go of maintenance and janitorial people, and they pay near the bottom of the pay range for staff. This has led to a staff shortage, which creates a decline in care, especially for assisted care. Residents have fallen and pressed the call button and it has taken over an hour to get help. Another resident soiled herself, called for help, and two hours later no help came. Rooms are not being cleaned like the contracts call for. Many of the staff that are there are stressed and have to just do triage because they are shorthanded. Edmonds Landing needs to hire more staff and quickly.

This place so disorganized. They had like one or two people trying to figure out up from down. No one answered the phone. Finally a lady that was just hired before the holidays tried to help but she had no idea how to answer my questions. The staff was temporary. Looked very boring. The building is beautiful but the unorganized mess they had going on there I didn’t want my father there . Also the new employee even told me she was overwhelmed because she got hired and just put to work. Not the place for my loved ones.

Cadence was horrible. The furniture, carpet & baseboards were dirty and the person giving the tour seemed to hate her job.

I discovered the day I moved that my apartment was never cleaned from the last resident. Bathroom was dirty with [removed] on back of toilet, soap scum in shower and stuff all over bathroom and closet doors. The food here is absolutely disgusting. Most people here have complained daily about the food service. Dinning room floors are disgusting and rarely get mopped. I would think twice before moving in here.

Huge rental increase after 1 year!

My mother was a resident at Vineyard Place for 1 year. On the 1-year anniversary, Atria jacked up her rent by $357 per month! Many residents have had to leave or move into smaller units. It's put a real hardship on the senior residents and has been sad to see. Since Atria took over, they've also cut services. The staff has been nice but the new management company is profit hungry. The entire building has to share 4 washing machines. It's a nightmare trying to get a machine for laundry and there are frequent issues with it. There are constant issues with the bus service and only minimal short outings.

Community

My loved one lives here and I’ve noticed that things that are stated or promised are not being followed through. My relative stated that care is lacking and wait times can be long. The nurse doesn’t help with much and appears to be negligent with how she cares for residents. My loved one loves the activities and how sweet the care staff are but has a harder time with admin. Thinking about looking into a new facility, this place just isn’t fitting and doesn’t hold up to what’s offered.

Not good for residents

I am pulling my sibling out of this community after being there for several yrs. She lives on the 2nd floor and uses a walker w/ a bad knee so she relies on the elevator. The elevator at Longmont Regent has been out for several wks, this has been an ongoing issues for years but this is the first time it has not been fixed. The AGM there is unprofessional and lazy. He lives as a resident in the community with his 30something girlfriend and they steal from the community, the girlfriend/chef actually told me last wk that she does not buy silverware/plates because she can get it from the kitchen. She says they do not buy groceries because they have a key to the kitchen. Unbelievable! Please get that elevator fixed! My sibling has not been able to attend meals in the community, any events, travel, run errands, nothing for several weeks because the AGM is useless. He has told me several times that it will get fixed when it's fixed. At the beginning he "Kept forgetting to call for service"

Be very careful....

Cadence Senior Living at Mint Hill - Memory Care.... This facility is rated '0' No Stars.... Well, I must say that for more than one year, my Mom was truly cared for by some Excellent Staff Members. I will not say that everything was perfect, because no Assisted Living or Long-Term Care Facility is perfect.... We all are human and make mistakes.... For the last 4 or 5 months of residency at Cadence Mint Hill, there was no excuse for the lack of Management, Professionalism, the lack of proper medication management and administration, complete neglect and the total lack of concern for resolving said issues or accepting responsibility for any of these issues. When you go on vacation for 4 days and return early to find your loved one with a blood-red rash, an infection (sepsis), and dehydration, yet Cadence never contacted me, but called the medical professional for a non issue and as of the day I moved my loved one out, they have never discussed their responsibility to know the di

When I toured with Cogir of Folsom I was very confused because the facility had just undergone new ownership and the name was changed. I drove around and was looking for the new name, but the building still had the old name on it. They did not have a sign or banner or anything. That right off the bat turned me off.
