A Place for Mom has scored Cogir Senior Living with 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 1,745 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Cogir Senior Living has 5,687 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.4 out of 5.
I was excited to have my family member live at Cogir Queen Anne. The price went way up within just a couple months based on reassessment of care, there have been issues with responsiveness of staff, and due to the unfortunate passing of the chef, the food and dining experience has gone way downhill. Staff and management turnover is extremely high. I regret choosing this facility for my family member and will be looking for a new place within the year.

The apartment is nicely renovated. They could improve on how staff communicates with residents. They also could improve on contact info for the company. There is no information on who someone can contact when issues at the community are not being addressed.

It is a nice place but too expensive. The staff were good. The issue was more of my problem. However, I did notice a turnover in management. It was noteworthy. Also, Cadence is not purely a memory care facility and the services/activities were a bit much resulting in a higher price than I needed to pay for.

I was drawn by the nice facilities and the price, but I was not happy with the level of care my mom received. She was injured several times including once that the ER nurse said she appeared to be bleeding severely for several hours. She flooded the entire floor of the memory care unit by leaving a sink running. When I visited it seemed like the residents were unengaged.

Overall experience was not bad overall experience not bad but but I personally was unprepared for the experience that we've seen so far struggled with the food and the lack of ability of for me to move around. Also, I've had a lot of changes which is interfered with settling in. Staff is friendly and was all the time we were moving in and getting settled. New staff is here and so many changes their friendlier I think just for the fact that they're moving in a different direction and things are changing quickly here a lot of complaints about things, but I don't see the problems. A lot of people are questioning about. Second housekeeping was lacking, but SOLISTA is making changes since they took over and things seem to be changing for the best. We have to wait and see what the house is like in a couple months. The same goes for the meals we were promised a chef which did not happen and a chef was not on duty when we came here and still is not, but it seems that the food is better quality cooked better with a little more care for what it looks like and how it's presented. Again, the quality of the food and the service so [name removed] is out on that too. The jury is out. The cost I think is expensive for what we get again I'm not up on what is available or anything like that this may be the matter of the normal. It seems like the normal charges of other places, but they don't have the facilities. They don't have the activities they don't have the kitchen that we That that I would like to have so again we're kind of limited on all of it. I think that we're probably [fee removed] a month over priced for where we are and what's available. Regarding the activities again, the activity Director had quit the week we got here and we just got one on board and it seems to be picking up but again limited we've had no bus service to go to town and have used Uber at the business expense but again a new activities Director is on board And we live in a group here where there's not a lot of active people here going out and doing things it doesn't appear. I would prefer be having some out outreach activities fishing and such as that I don't like is we can't have any barbecue we have no barbecue pits or anything like that and we're not allowed to have barbecues, I enjoy barbecuing and such so that that's kind of a sticking point for me but again the activities director seems to be coming around and starting new program so the jury is out on that one also.

I liked that it was smaller and location was convenient. We liked the old executive director [name removed] but she left. Problems: low staffing/irregular check ins, apathetic staff, medication mismanagement, poor communication, staff no shows to family meetings, etc. I'll finish writing my draft. I'm also filing a complaint with someone about the medication screwup (although it started with the prescribing doctor outside the facility). I realize it's a difficult job but it's also that company's only job. I hear many places suffer from the same issues.

This looks like a really great place. [name removed] is amazing! However, the managers not so much. Talk to everyone before you sign the papers. Food is not great either. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don't believe anything about your loved one receiving healthcare services. Read the contract carefully. If you go to the hospital or rehab, you still have to pay for you apartment!!!!

We moved mom out of there in March. They advertise their AL program for those with dementia. Yet they over medicated, didn't know how to handle common behavioral issues, no stop UTI's, didn't recognize when she needed urgent care etc. We felt very misled. They said with their program, mom would do well in AL and not need Memory Care if she didn't wander. As soon as she had behavioral problems they didn't want to deal with and short staffed, said she needed Memory Care. And of course they want double the $ for Memory Care. Felt like classic bait and switch.

We originally liked that they had all kinds of activities and outings. As soon as we signed up and moved I they started doing way way less activities and outings. When we ask for help to hang something in her room (included in fee to be there) they never have time. The food is awful. We don't have much good to stay about it other than the guests that stay there are lovely. This place went downhill after we found out they sold it to a new honor the month we moved my mom in.

I loved it at first but it got horrible. Then good for 4 months. Then worse than horrible. They couldn't keep managers or staff or anyone. My mom was in the hospital and then rehab. But when she was in the hospital Cadence wouldn't take her back because she was on oxygen. Mind you there were other pts on oxygen. I even spoke to the facility dr and she said it was a lie that they don't take oxygen pts. It was a horrible experience. I forgot to mention that the she went into the hospital, the er doctor yelled at me when I arrived because of how unkempt and dirty she was, no glasses or wig, dirty clothes that were not hers, flaky and dead skin, and she smelled. He was horrified to learn she lived at a facility.

My dad was previously a resident at The Terrace at Beverly Lake Memory Care and the overall experience was poor. We moved my dad out of the facility. Things were not going well due to high staff turnover rate and the lack of care. Money first, care last. No, I would not recommend The Terrace at Beverly Lake Memory Care to others.

Biggest problem is they don't do the services that you are supposed to to be getting, my mother was 96 and I constantly had to ask why she wasn't bring escorted down to the dining room with her walker, even after 2 falls no one ever came to her room to help her get dressed or shower. We recently had to move her since she had to go to the hospital, then rehab upon evaluation after 2 weeks at rehab they informed us that they didn't have the level of care that she needed! I had Easter weekend to try and find a new facility and move her, it took me 5 days to coordinate with a new place and we spent $450.00 a day out of pocket at rehab before I could finally move her to a new facility. I specifically asked about the care level since we were moving her due to the fact that her previous facility , ivy creek was only independent living once mom needed more care and to start her long term care she needed assisted living, very misleading about the care level and they can't handle much as an assisted living facility, my mom didn't even need a 2 person assisted level

Overall experience: - When I initially moved my mother into this facility, it was called the The Fountains at the Washington House. We were happy with the services, staff, food, and facilities. Since it has changed hands several times, we have become increasingly disappointed. Cleanliness - renovations have significantly disrupted everyday life, especially sharing the elevator with dirty construction workers and their trash. The facility has received a coat of paint, but areas like the elevator have scuffed-up wood panels and floor and sometimes come with a distinct smell. Friendliness of staff - not through any fault of the staff, but there has been a significant turnover of staff, and staff training is lacking. Staff demonstrates a lack of knowledge of procedures and how to perform helpful tasks like transferring a call to family members. Sometimes, the inability to perform a task can be interpreted as unhelpful. Quality of care - my mother performs her own injections but has no sharps containers to dispose of her needles. When this issue was presented to the clinic, their feedback was to dispose of it in the trash. Meals/Dining. Rating - my mother used to be able to enjoy a glass of wine with her lunch and dinner; in addition to the dining facilities, my mother also had access to a snack bar in the lower part of the building where hot food, sandwiches, soups, fruits, and beverages were available to her. Unfortunately, upon changing hands several times, this option was eliminated. Additionally, the quality of food being served declined, despite the fancy names given by the dining facility, which have become the source of jokes by the residents. Activities - there is NO space for activities.

The staff at Inspira Arrowhead is fine, except for I find that the caregivers are less motivated and I mean the new ones. The nursing staff thinks that they're above being a caregiver and slough off a request for help most of the time. In the past, I suggested that when our activities are going on that a caregiver should be present so that the activity Director didn't have to stop what they're doing to help a resident with trying to get outside trying to go potty, etc.. suggested that they have music on in the section that doesn't have an activity going on just for the fact that it's a very subconscious thing for them. And I find that the CAREGIVER cable or desk that's in the middle of these sections is a terrible thing for them to have. They congregate they don't roam and see if anybody needs any help and you have to pry them away from the desk to help you out.

Management is horrible and rude! [name removed] (mgr) answer to everything is that's the way it has always been done. We were told my dad's apartment would be remodeled during the entire remodel process then after he moved in, they changed and said no it wouldn't be remodeled. The showers are horrible. You cannot roll a wheelchair inand they are small. I would not recommend this for anyone who has to get into the shower with a wheelchair. Takes 1 hour to get food for lunch and dinner. Horrible move from Texas facility to this one.
