Cogir Senior Living

Our family had an in person tour with the Cogir of Vancouver community and I didn't like that the front door is unlocked. The area for memory care was very ugly not warm. Looked like an insane asylum

Both Parents were relocated to this facility from Scottsdale facility which closed after 2 months of moving both parents moving in. I received an email notification of closure and had 2 weeks to relocate them both to a new facility or relocate to their Peoria facility. I had about 2 weeks notice. Manager was all ears with no follow through. Key to new room was unique and not the same key as other rooms. Rarely able to enter the room without walking back to the reception desk to obtain a key. If either parent had an emergency the key was difficult to obtain. To date approximately 2 months later it is common to have to get door entry key from reception desk. New facility has relocated staff from Scottsdale. All great professionals. Management is horrible and lacking in the area of memory care. Keys still not readily available to each care provider. Bedding is not cleaned or replaced as required. Fecal soaked linen, missing laundry, improper cleaning up after accidents. Understaffed

I wouldn't recommend this community to others for their loved ones. During the tour it sounded great, and there were promises made and the promises weren't fulfilled after moving in. There was a time that my loved one fell and the community didn't contact the family about this or about sending our loved one to the hospital. There was no staff that was with my loved one in the hospital from the community either. The aides were so nice to work with. The management was horrible to work with though. They told us that my loved one couldn't have a phone in their room, come to find out our loved one could have had a phone in their room during their stay. The time that my loved one was moving in, there was no one there to greet us or give us the instructions on what we need to do. They also said that we would have to feed our loved one, instead of having an aide assist our loved one. Due to our poor experience with the management team we pulled our loved one out after a short stay. One of the social activities the community had the residents participate in was sorting buttons. This wasn't enjoyable for our loved one.

Not good. The rent has increased every year. Management and services have gone downhill in quality and healthy livability every year.

Our loved one had a fall in their bedroom and stayed for less then 2 weeks. I liked it just fine. After that, I tried to make an appointment and everyone was in turmoil with being fired or let go. I wanted to see if there was any help available with the 90 day contract. They had finally hired some new folks and the answer was NO. The food was fine, cleanliness okay, we just thought we would be able to get some help with the 90day contract.

From our experience our family suffered a hardship due to the handling of the care of our loved one. Our loved one didn't stay very long and we weren't refunded the property fee to us after the short stay. I feel that my loved one didn't receive any care. In fact, the community didn't feel comfortable transferring our loved one out of the community or accepting them back. The memory care unit wasn't staffed appropriately to care for the number of residents in the unit. The community ultimately wanted us to hire additional support, such as a companion care member to care for our loved one.

I had nothing but good things to say about this place up until the last couple of months. Apparently it has been sold to another Corporation and it shows. [name removed] is a great Manager and use to have some great staff. Most of the staff have been either let go or have moved on to other jobs. Now I hear the Activities Director is leaving, which is devastating to the residents. She is very well liked and a wonderful person who cares about the residents. She will be hard to replace along with the other staff members. I realize there are two sides to everything. But if all your staff are leaving, there is an issue. Instead of caring about saving a dollar here and there, how about putting the resident's needs first! Thank You

This review is strictly geared towards the memory care unit. I would tell others to not put loved ones in the memory care unit here at Quail Park Morrison Ranch, they have unexperienced staff members working there.

I toured Inspira Arrowhead and I wasn't impressed. Their prices were really high and to me, it was sterile. I got the impression that only shoddy people would stay there, not everyday people.

Seemed like a good place when we first moved mom in. There now seems to be lots of staff turn over and shortage of staff, especially in the kitchen and transportation areas which were two of the main reasons we chose this facility. Their website says chef prepared meals however there were days when mom received Costco prepared meals as they had no cook. At no time was a reimbursement given for the lack of services they say are part of the price. Hoping this new company starts doing better

The staff is friendly but there is a high turn over rate. This place is way understaffed and the needs of the residents are not met in a timely fashion.

It appears that this company is in transition. My mother's only been here for six months, during this time the aids, staff and opportunities are on constant change. They really need consistency, and that has not been shown thus far. She just does not know whom to trust with so much change, makes it hard.

Not impressed. Fairly clean. Needed updating. Wasn't a comfortable environment.

We really liked the courtyard and the crafts center where they would engage the residents in with different activities.

The whole facility is absolutely beautiful but it is just not the right fit for my loved one. I think it is marvelous for independent living - but my loved one needs more care than they are able to provide. They do have 3rd party healthcare providers you can hire if you need. The apartments are beautiful and some have balconies and patios. There is plenty of space outside to walk around. The parking is first come first serve. I would recommend Holiday Pinecerst only for retirees, the value for what you get is great there.

Walking into Brandywine Living was like I was walking into The Biltmore Hotel. But I didn't like that the memory care unit was on a higher floor, and the outdoor space for the unit was just a small concrete pad with planters. Based on the cost, I’m sure their care was good. But they certainly seemed like they were more geared toward outward appearances, and the staff were less friendly than at other places I toured. I would not have placed my family member there. It was beautiful - it was the most lavish place I saw, but that wasn’t what my family member needed. Memory care seemed secondary. For assisted living, if you can afford it, I think it could be a great place.

The staff is nice but the service is not good. It's difficult to get in touch with management. They have had a lot of turnover. I have found my loved one sick and laying in vomit. The experience right now has not been positive. I can see visible leftover vomit there. The management is not doing a good job communicating these issues. The same issues keep repeating themselves. I have tried to communicate with them. I need a lot more than what I am getting. She will be in the same clothes for days.

We have had issues recently within the community. The management makes it look much better than it is. The weekend experience is horrible, this is because they don't have management to see what the employees are doing or the lack of assistance they are providing to the residents. There has been a lot of turnover of staff and management recently. There has been a lot of agency staff coming in, instead of the community hiring employees. My loved one has pushed the call button and has to wait and doesn't get a response in a timely manner. There have been times that food has been delivered to the residents with no utensils to use to eat with. There have been times the staff will forget about my loved one to take to eat on the weekends.

They don't know how hot their water is, and my dad being diabetic has neuropathy on his feet and hands and got 2nd degree burns from the water. They take no responsibility. They won't bring him any food. They're hard to get a hold of. I don't feel they make diabetic food for the diabetic patients they have. My dad is constantly having diarrhea. When I complained about the water being way to hot, the head manager said that I needed to get one of those shower heads that tells you if the water is too hat. They take absolutely no responsibility upon themselves. I had to hire a nurse to come in and change the bandages on his feet every day. I just don't want anyone else's parents to have to go through what mine is going through right now.
