The COVID environment has made it hard. The community was going to start bringing the activities back, and then a staff member tested positive. So the residents had to be back in isolation, and it has been a long period of time. The community has done a great job with the COVID situation. The community has been shut down since March. The residents are able to go outside for socialization for residents to meet each other. The staff is there to take care of the residents any time of day. The food is good to bad. If an independent living resident falls, then the community calls 911 for assistance. The dining room tried to reopen and then the residents were placed two at a table, and it was hard for the residents to communicate and meet each other. If the residents want something different to eat, then the residents will have another option. The food is currently being delivered to the rooms of the residents. The housekeeping is provided, but the kitchen floor isn't mopped. My loved one has said that the staff has been great, responsive, and friendly. The care services are available to choose from a half-hour to an hour depending on what your loved one needs.

I AM PRETTTY HAPPY SO FAR. MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO, AND EVERYONE HAS BEEN VERY SUPPORTIVE. I H ADN'T REALLY DONE MUCH WHILE HE WAS STILL ALIVE-- HE WAS PRETTY MUCH BED-RIDDEN AND I HATED TO LEAVE HIM. NOW I AM STARTING TO DO moRE. THEY HAVE A LOT OF ACTIVITIES TO CHOOSE FROM, AND IM SURE IT WILL BE BETTER ONCE THE VIRUS LIMITATIONS END. RIGHT NOW, WE CANNOT G0 ANYWHERE OR HAVE ANYONE COME TO SEE US.

We chose Lake Shore Commons because of the proximity and cost. My friends room is very nice, he is in a small studio. There is a living area and sleeping area, kitchenette and large bathroom. I have eaten here and the food is very good. He eats very well. They have a good variety on the menu. During COVID, the facility was doing window visits and they recently opened up the dining room for small groups at a time. They have been proactive and cautious and have only had 1 case of COVID. Overall, I would recommend this facility.

This place is safe and I like it.

The reason I picked this place is because my husband had been at this community, for rehab. They had all private rooms. My experience was good. No place is perfect, I was there every day. I'm not sure if it would be as good, if I wasn't there every day. They stopped me from coming to visit early on due to COVID. They made sure there were no visitors, it was awful but understandable due to the virus. They did this because of the good of the patients. I am able to understand why they did it. If we should have anymore pandemics, make sure that patients are able to come to the window for a visit. This is a first time a pandemic has happened in our lifetime. A friend had a significant other at another community and they found a way to allow visits.

Staff strives to do their best for the occupants. They do care and take into consideration all the occupants needs. The place is not too big that the occupants are forgotten nor too small that they are cramped.

Everyone that works here is tremendous. I feel like everyone is a good friend.[name removed] are the sweetest. I hate putting out names because I know I’ll forget plenty of them. [names removed] you all are the best management team. A few of you even understand my sense of humor. It’s appreciated. The young people that come in to serve are very attentive and will help you whenever they can. They really found an extra special group of people to run Carmel Place.

I have lived here for seven years and have thoroughly enjoyed my cottage. It is on a daylight basement floor and looks out over a wooded area and the entrance to the old garden. Some of the beauty and allure of the original garden has been lost, as the wetland and climate change have taken over. I highly recommend this senior community for older people who do not continue to live an active lifestyle. The many easygoing activities here are just right for most older seniors. Due to the pandemic restrictions, our dining facilities continue to be limited, with opportunities for social distancing with friends. Presently, meals are served to your door, as are mail and packages. The staff is obliging and helpful. We look forward to seeing you here, and I hope you might stay with us. I’m grateful for my stay here and for the friends I’ve made. Please come visit us.

Good food, nice and professional personnel, lots of activities and well managed.

The facility was clean, staff and residents were friendly and made our family feel welcome. We are looking for future needs and enjoyed our visit.

Overall, I believe the staff are compassionate, hardworking and dedicated. My mother became more active after moving in, 18 months ago, until Covid-19 hit and she had to be quarantined. My concern is the meals. She is allergic to iodine and when fish is served sometimes only a side salad is the option. On one occasion a large portion of cottage cheese was offered for supper! This alone!

Lived here for 3 years, I like it here. Friendly help and residents.

[name removed] was a delight - We appreciate the tour and information. The facility is very impressive. It was like walking into a luxury hotel. The apartments clean, well maintained and set up to maximize the space. The amenities are awesome.

I do not work for Carson Plaza. I am a private care-giver for a resident here. The staff are friendly yet professional. They are all working hard at keeping things clean and everyone healthy. They have also been doing their best at keeping the residents mentally stimulated and entertained.

Very pleased so far. Just moved in when Covid-19 started, so not really a good test of the facility, and it's amenities.

I'm very happy living at Cascadian Place. The staff are outstanding, my apartment is a perfect size and the food is good.

They are serving us well in this difficult time. We are abiding according to the guide lines of distancing. The community are doing very well in their care of us.
