The good: Clean environment and caring staff/community. Lots of activities and events and families are encouraged to attend. Variety of meals. Holidays and birthdays/anniversaries are celebrated. For the most part when concerns are raised I feel they are addressed. Sagely app allows staff to send pictures to families and frequent Facebook posts. The not so good: Always seem understaffed in memory care with 1 aide per floor. The caregivers seem stretched thin trying to help sometimes 9-10 residents at a time. Bathrooms are rarely clean. Some caregivers interact with the residents better than others. Communication all around could be better from the staff. You have to advocate for your loved one and visit often to receive the best care.

There is a new Director and Events Coordinator and they are great! They have events almost everyday. But the director that is in charge of the staff giving medication needs to have training on patience and compassion.

My family and loved one have had a great experience with The Harvest of Roanoke. [name removed] has been amazing to work with. The community is always clean when we visit our loved one. Everyone is friendly here. The staff are kind and caring. We do believe that the organization could be better during the move in process, and it would be nice to have a welcome packet provided to the family and the resident to assist with settling in.

Positives: Friendliest of staff, prompt response time when we experience an issue or need something, very clean facility.. Based on the experience we have had so far, yes we would recommend to other families. I found Tech Ridge Oaks to be the best placement for her assisted living facilities in the central Austin area. I researched 18 facilities and visited nine. I am very happy with the choice for my father. Negatives: I have been sharing concerns for improvement areas in regard to the medication dispersement team and the dining room foods and service with the facility Director.

Our family had an in person tour with Double Creek and I do think they are better suited for assisted living. Activities for assisted living great. Not impressed with memory care personnel. Memory care on second floor, felt unsafe with second story. Could not give clear evacuation plan for fire. Support group for families. Interview focused more on my needs than explaining care. Did not go upstairs to see facility. Do believe from what I saw in assisted living was good.

Be realistic in expectations. My family member is no longer mobile so she needs help with all aspects of daily life. At first we experienced a lot of issues with acceptable reaction times and care instructions. Over time it has become much better, but the family has to be involved and build relationships with the staff to achieve acceptable care. It must be understood that my family member has a lot of medical / health issues and mobility issues so her needs probably exceed most of the residents who live there.

It was old and dark. Although the woman who showed us around was very pleasant and very positive, but when my sister saw another community, she said I think this will work and it was like the sixth one we had looked at I think.

I toured with Elk Creek AL & MC and it was a lovely facility, though the quarters were a bit small. Staff were all very nice.

Ariel Pointe of Sachse is newer than other places and the residents are nice - it's an easier life for us here. Food menus are reportedly controlled by CIVITAS Corporate offices. We have made suggestions to deaf ears. The kitchen staff has no control. Service staff in dining room is high turnover. Mostly kids from local schools. Training is insufficient in our opinion. Communication is another weak point! They need to do better! Like any aspect of life, it's what you make it.

The staff at Harvest are friendly. The greatest issue we have is with their medication policy. My loved one has Parkinson's and must receive his medication every 3.5 hours. Their policy allows them one hour over our under for dispensing meds. This is highly unacceptable for our situation.

Ledgestone Senior Living is lovely, and the residents are great. The amenities and activities are wonderful. The facility is clean. Meals are good and not institutional. Complementary continental breakfast included. Staff are helpful, but communication has been a small challenge. Staff turnover is part of the challenge. Generally happy there!

My loved one is a resident at Midtowne Assisted Living and Memory Care and everything has been good here at this facility! Everyone has their own experiences, but I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

There are many long term employees. My father likes having the same person caring for him. Cleanliness is a problem. It took many months to get on a distribution list regarding what the facilities are doing. Executive director is not the most responsive. I know, in general, assisted living facilities do not pay a lot to the employees. That being said, I think you would find the same issues (potentially) at any facility. My dad likes it and that's all that matters.

Memory care is as well as can be expected. Probably better than most. Their hallway is wide and open. There's plenty of room for the patients to walk around or sit in recliners. It is expensive, but care means a lot to our family. Remember this is overall for memory care. Sort of expensive, but the care is better than most other homes.

It could be a little cleaner. They are friendly. The interaction with the staff is good. Most of the time, the food is good. We picked this community, because it's close, clean, nice and they offered what my loved one needed at the time. They can improve on being more attentive to the residents. I would recommend to other families.

The community made it extremely easy and stress-free to move my dad directly from being a hospital inpatient to being a resident. I was able to move him in to the community directly from the hospital so he didn't have to return to his actual home. Because he has Alzheimer's this made the transition much less stressful. The communication from staff is good. The community is great for residents who are able to come and go on their own.

My opinion on Arabella so far is that the staff is super friendly - they are not very organized in keeping track of stuff though. They seemed to make changes on the food, it used to be better but has gone downhill. They claim that they clean the apartments once a week, but it is not a real thorough clean. I know that just like everyone else they are short staffed and doing the best they can, but with what we are paying I think they need to figure out the food situation and the cleaning of the rooms. It is a great apartment, the community is awesome and the people are very nice.

They are really good to my loved one. There are some things they need to figure out and work on, but they are on their way to doing a really good job.

It's necessary for families to always advocate for their resident. You really need to check up on them and make sure that the facility is doing their due diligence. The only thing I find that is a little troubling is Double Creek has only one aide per floor. Even two aides per floor would increase the quality of care and assistance dramatically. But overall I am very pleased with what they're doing for my loved one. And they try very hard - they're never lackadaisical. If I bring up any issues, they take care of them within a reasonable time frame.

This was a nice community. I didn't like they had a small outdoor area for the residents with no view.
