I would tell other families looking into Brookdale Lowry for their loved ones to make sure and verify all the costs that they are offering and make sure all the prescriptions are documented and given to facility before loved ones enters the community. We have been overall happy with most of our experience here, but not quite sure if I would recommend them yet. It is in a really great location.

We toured Brookdale Meridian Arvada when searching for an Independent Living facility for our loved one. This facility was on my short list. However, the building was older and the neighborhood was not as nice as some of the other facilities that we toured.

I picked this community because of the price, and it's in a very nice part of town. Other places we looked at didn't accept Medicaid. It's nice and residents are friendly. My mom has made a lot of good friends there.

The staff were attentive in working to find the right accommodations we were seeking for my Mother-in-law. The familiarization meeting was not rushed, but accounted for time to give and get explanations to enable collaboration. That enabled us to find, together, a mutually beneficial set of community attributes to persuade ourselves that this was a location fitting our criteria. The marketing, sales and facility management worked well together to satisfy some unique requirements, and consequently earned our trust, and gave my Mother-in-law the confidence to make a commitment to move in to Brookdale Vernon Hills. After 5 weeks there, now, most all of the expectations are satisfying, the facilities and community are welcoming. As a new resident, my Mother-in-law is still making friends, enjoying many of the activities, while also finding time to relax, enjoying the community environs. As an aside, less than timely maintenance initiatives, viz., not being able to manually control (turn off) the bathroom baseboard heater has not been fixed, rather it was fully shut off. To not be able to turn the heater off posed a concern, as a possible fire hazard. Now that it is off is OK, until the autumn, when it will be needed. But, then the heat rheostat/thermostat still won't calibrate to the appropriate setting. It'll need to be addressed, in due course. Yet, if it was operating properly in the first place, then being repaired properly wouldn't be a projected concern.

What we really like about this community is the location, it is great. Based on the experience we have had so far with Huntington Place, we would definitely recommend the community to other families looking for a community for their loved one.

I am overall pleased with minor disappointments. Communication has been good. Good care: yes considering how difficult Mom can be. I would recommend this community to other families.

The system of communication between staff is poor. They do not seem to have a way of sharing information or relaying messages. There is no receptionist on duty to take messages. There are times when no one answers. If a person is independent, I would absolutely recommend Huntington Place. It's a great facility, but as my family members health declined, the communication/coordination problems began. If that was better, I would have zero complaints.

For our loved one who is used to eating frozen dinners, they seem to like the meals. The people are nice and the place is clean and they can handle my father's personality, so I guess I would recommend to other families.. But again, the price of these places are so expensive that the idea of value is hard to nail down.

They are terrific! Very good fit for my Mom! It's a good community, and inclusive. I would recommend to others.

Brookdale is a great place to live. Nice and friendly people. Lots of activities to participate in.

Friendly staff and residents. One bedroom apartment has large window in living room and bedroom for an open airy appearance unlike other assisted living places we toured. Large lobby area with couches and a fireplace. Several balconies for sitting outside.

It was helpful to know that Mom could stay there for hospice care. I could visit as often as I wished, and have my questions answered. There weren't many activities, but it was still during the Pandemic. I would recommend Huntington Place to others and had Mom go there because my father in law was there years ago as well.

This is my first experience with assisted living, so I have zero frame of reference. I can say though that I am frustrated that there is little to no outbound communication to me. I get no updates on how he is doing or anything like that. There is no follow up from the staff. He does have a doctor assigned to him and I have only spoken to him one time. Medication management is very expensive, and you do have to use their pharmacy. I got a very hefty bill and a lot of it was over the counter meds. I asked for the nurse to call me so I could buy him those OTC meds, and still I have not heard from anyone. All of the staff are super friendly I will say and the move in process was smooth. It really is a good place, these are just a few things that they could improve on. Overall I would recommend Brookdale Vernon Hills to others looking.

Brookdale has been a good experience for my mother. She has short term memory loss, so they're very good with her. They're very attentive to anything I mention or ask about. I think they're short-staffed, but the care they provide is good. I feel like the experience you'll have depends on how involved you are. I visit often and have a good rapport with the staff, including admin. For my mother and her limited needs, it has been a great fit. And i she needs memory care later on, I like that I see them including the memory care residents in the activities.

We went with Columbia Crossing because when I was there for the tour, the interaction between staff and residents is what really stuck out the most. They really keep in contact with the families, but I did have to push for that communication. Once I did that though they have been great. In memory care the food is just so so, but on the assisted living side the food is phenomenal. I would definitely recommend them to other families.

Our family had an in-person tour and based on everything we saw within the facility and the staff members we met with we thought it was a really nice experience.

I have lived here since 2016 (I believe) and was drawn to the community as soon as I walked in the door. It's a beautiful building and have enjoyed it while my husband and I resided here. He is no longer with me, and I moved to a one-bedroom and love it.

The employees are very helpful, and make an effort to know residents' names. I appreciate that very much. The facility is clean and the appearance is attractive. On holidays there is seasonal decoration. The ladies at the front desk are especially friendly as is.

One thing our loved one likes is that her room is right next to the nurses station which is convenient due to our loved ones vision loss. She really is enjoying the meals they prepared. We have had a couple issues with the miscommunication regarding the level of care but they are working on fixing the issue which we appreciate.

My loved one was here for a respite stay. If I remember right, their minimum for respite is 2 weeks. They have a ton of activities but we just weren't sure if they were getting him. He absolutely LOVED the food. The staff are all very friendly and it is a really nice facility, you walk in and it feels like a hotel. I was told that they keep regular staff and do not hire temporary staff, so it is the same people each day who know the residents. His room had the type of chair he needed for mobility that helped him to stand up so that was nice. They really try to make it feel like home. I would recommend Columbia Crossing to other families looking.
