For our loved one who is used to eating frozen dinners, they seem to like the meals. The people are nice and the place is clean and they can handle my father's personality, so I guess I would recommend to other families.. But again, the price of these places are so expensive that the idea of value is hard to nail down.

Friendly staff and residents. One bedroom apartment has large window in living room and bedroom for an open airy appearance unlike other assisted living places we toured. Large lobby area with couches and a fireplace. Several balconies for sitting outside.

It was helpful to know that Mom could stay there for hospice care. I could visit as often as I wished, and have my questions answered. There weren't many activities, but it was still during the Pandemic. I would recommend Huntington Place to others and had Mom go there because my father in law was there years ago as well.

We went with Columbia Crossing because when I was there for the tour, the interaction between staff and residents is what really stuck out the most. They really keep in contact with the families, but I did have to push for that communication. Once I did that though they have been great. In memory care the food is just so so, but on the assisted living side the food is phenomenal. I would definitely recommend them to other families.

I would recommend that you make sure that you are taking a proactive approach in making sure the care is being met for your loved one. Make sure you are advocating for your loved one, to make sure the care is meeting your expectations. Most of the time the staff communication with the family has been good. There are three meals a day and there are choices for the residents to choose from.

Our family had an in-person tour and based on everything we saw within the facility and the staff members we met with we thought it was a really nice experience.

One thing our loved one likes is that her room is right next to the nurses station which is convenient due to our loved ones vision loss. She really is enjoying the meals they prepared. We have had a couple issues with the miscommunication regarding the level of care but they are working on fixing the issue which we appreciate.

My loved one was here for a respite stay. If I remember right, their minimum for respite is 2 weeks. They have a ton of activities but we just weren't sure if they were getting him. He absolutely LOVED the food. The staff are all very friendly and it is a really nice facility, you walk in and it feels like a hotel. I was told that they keep regular staff and do not hire temporary staff, so it is the same people each day who know the residents. His room had the type of chair he needed for mobility that helped him to stand up so that was nice. They really try to make it feel like home. I would recommend Columbia Crossing to other families looking.

My loved ones room has been clean, and they seem to be well staffed. Often, it's a challenge to get someone to respond in a timely manner. Other than that, they are very friendly. We picked this place because, we needed a quality place to go to, and it checked all of the boxes for my loved one. They keep the residents moving/active.

My loved one seems to like the food. The staff seems to be okay. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

This is an excellent community. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The dining experience and activities are great for the residents. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and the family can join our loved one for meals. Some of the activities include: dog shows, entertainment, and more for the residents to participate in.

I toured this community. It was great! The staff was caring and compassionate. They were great about answering all of my questions! Wonderful place!

We chose HarborChase of Long Grove because they talked about a men's club that they had - most facilities are predominantly women so that was the driving reason that we chose this facility. The transition could have been done much better - there was an extreme circumstance with management and there was no back up plan. What they told us would be done, was not done so that could have gone smoother. Overall we have been pleased and would recommend them to others.

We had a nice tour experience with Bella Vista Retirement. I just felt that the facility itself was too big and would have been overwhelming. When we came to tour we did not see many people out and about socializing.

Above average facility overall. Good to have memory care and assisted living under one roof. Staff turnover is very high. Night shift staff in memory care is sub contract staff with little training. Assisted living staff are employees and much better trained. Very friendly staff. Everyone makes a point of getting to know residents by name.

Excellent care, responsive and communicates well (especially important to me as I live 750 miles away). They always treat me well when I visit and know my name!

I would tell others to call A Place for Mom, you gave great ideas. This was the perfect place for my loved one. They have 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms it has over 1300 square feet and a kitchen and washer and dryer along with storage that is included in the apartment.. This is exactly what I imagined for my loved ones. They look forward to their meals and it includes all three meals. The residents are able to have choices on what they want to eat. Also, the family is able to eat with our loved ones in the dining room. They have in room treatments with a nurse practitioner.

Our tour at Harborchase of Shorewood was good. It's a very nice facility. It's very new and very clean. The resident units are very nicely appointed. However, it is also very expensive.
