Everything is good, no complaints, the community overall is great.

I like that the building seems bright and cheerful on the main floor. Unfortunately, my aunt is on the lower level and it does seem a little darker and has a basement feel. I don't love that. I don't know if the activities on her floor are as special as they have for the residents living on the main level. Everyone has been very nice and they all are very pleasant to work with

It is good and I would recommend sending someone there. Just wish it was less money.

It is clean and well maintained. Have had multiple medication mistakes with incorrect medication being given to mom. After multiple weeks of no response from the staff and executive director, I went to the CEO. He went directly to the Brookhaven location and within 48 hours, called me to explain the issue and how they resolved it. He also apologized for the lack of response from his team. Mom is involved in a lot of activities, and we can see them regularly on the Facebook page. The cost has gone up significantly since May. Mom's level of care change raised the monthly rate by [fee removed]. Also, we have been hit with a hidden cost regarding her monthly medication. Instead of buying them bulk with 90 day supplies, the IPPC monthly fee is about $[removed] more than we budgeted.

I would say that overall, the experience has been good. I feel the level of care is better than what he was receiving in his previous living situation. There have been some miscommunication issues with the staff, which I find to be common with all facilities and as a family member, you really have to make sure, you visit often and communicate your wishes to the staff on a regular basis.

The staff are very helpful and friendly! I think they could improve on their food and the activities provided for the residents.

My boyfriend, [name removed], is the one his daughter and I had been looking for a place for. The cost was a factor and we found that the Chelsea was affordable for him. What we liked about the facility was the size and beauty of the apartments. We also liked that it was small and there weren't too many people living there. [name removed] suffers from severe depression, but he has made a handful of friends and we couldn't be happier. He seems happier. I wish for only one thing. That there were more activities for him. He can be a very creative artist, and there is an art room that he says is never open. He does enjoy the trips to the beaches and Bingo a few times a week. It's a good place.

This is independent living she cares most on her own but they care about her. This is the area where my mom says is not great - food is not great. She does most things as to what she can do. They should have expanded driver hours. Compared to others this was most affordable for us. It is a good place. She never complains about the staff. They are very helpful to her and they know her family and they are extremely welcoming and helpful to me. As her daughter I know that if something were to happen or if she didn't arrive at a meal someone would come looking which is very comforting to me and my brother

I like the atmosphere and the dining room area . It appears to be clean my biggest change in a year has been a the number of employee changes ! Some is the things we were told are no longer honored as for transportation to the doctor is no longer . Little disappointing!.

I would recommend the facility to others. I'm very hands on with my folks- so I know I personally make the experience better for them (I take laundry home 6 days a week because of my dads incontinence). The meals have actually gotten somewhat better as of late- they get their meals brought up to them. The housekeeping is great. Everyone is really lovely. I would definitely recommend the facility.

My parents were at [name removed] in Norwood New Jersey for almost 2 years and we moved them out because poor quality of the administration specifically the Director. They've only been at Chelsea for two months but so far we are very happy with the professionalism of the administration and staff.

My mom has been here since the first day open and she has been treated with love and support every day since. She is cared for, encouraged and loved. The staff is so friendly and is always respectful and courteous. [name removed] at the front first goes above and beyond to help in anyway she can. Mom enjoys the activities that [name removed] and team schedule. [name removed], [name removed], [name removed] and dining room team are fabulous- they are so patient and attentive to mom’s needs. [name removed], [name removed] and their team of nurses and aides are caring and loving and always do their best to support mom with her healthcare needs. I feel comfortable addressing any concerns with them and they are extremely receptive and happy to help. And the other residents are like another family. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. Mom feels at home here.

Highly recommended for quality of care and value for the money. Chose it primarily from visiting and in depth discussion with the staff. More confident that our loved one will be a better fit.

The director and caretakers are all wonderful and attentive. We hated to have to leave. The medical services did not impress. They changed my father's Lewy body dementia meds without consultation with former docs or family. This switch to a drug that he did not tolerate well before the Chelsea lead to several hospital er and pysch unit stays and a declined condition. The Chelsea was not prepared to care for him after the decline. The memory care coordinator [name removed] is so caring, she still keeps track and visited my dad at his nursing home.

My mom is currently a resident at The Chelsea at Greenburgh and everything has been great for her so far. I would recommend The Chelsea to others.

I only had 3 weeks there with my mother when she fell and ended up in a hospital for 12 days and now rehab for who knows how long. Yes, it's lovely but the care could be more attentive.

Faculty and staff are warm, friendly and try very hard. The chef has been put in a difficult spot. He has to cook for the independent residents at the same time as the assisted residents. Therefore since the assisted section opened the food has changed. No longer tasty and more suited to people on restricted diets. My mom and others are very unhappy with the change. Dinner staff is insufficient. Food is cold.

My family and loved one have had a good experience with the community. The staff seem to be kind, caring, and knowledgeable. Everyone seems to be friendly. There are meals and activities provided to the residents, and this is helpful to their socialization. Our loved one is happy here and has no complaints. Overall, this is a community we would recommend to others.

The management is good. There is room for improvement with the aides.

Somerset Gardens by Chelsea was the next to last place I visited out of about 10, so I do not remember a whole lot since I was exhausted by this point. All of the people that I met who conducted the tours were most pleasant, eager to answer questions and gave freely of their time. I would tell others to: Find out if the facility has an "enhanced license." Find out the actual cost, not just the flat rate. I was taken aback that each facility tacks on a "community fee" equal to one month's fee upon moving in.
