I recommend Somerset Gardens

We really love it she is in the memory care and she is doing so well there! I am so thrilled that she is there. This is great she is loving it. I would reccommend it to anyone. I can't even tell you how well she is doing there. I am thrilled with the memory care unit they are open to everything they have activities all the time. They do great things once a week with them they go out, I come all the time with my puppy, they love me to bring my puppy. I have to say they are doing wonerful they do exercises, and they always have things going on with them, they don't want them sitting in the room. They don't allow telephones in the room, so she wasn't callilng me all the time. They had an understanding and comprehension of how they act with dementia behavior. I am so thrilled with the people there they are very kind, loving, caring. If your loved one has dementia I recommend somerset gardens.

Feels like home

While my aunt is on the younger side at a spry 76 years, the residents are active and welcoming. Meals are well rounded and social, housekeeping is weekly and through, the staff is warm and friendly, and visiting is always a pleasant experience. I'm very pleased with this community and highly recommend seeing Leeann, for a tour. She is caring and knowledgable and really down to earth.

My Mother is Very Happy at Somerset!

I have no complaints at all. They run the facility perfectly. My mother adjusted so well. It's such a good feeling to see her happy like this. Everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend Somerset! I never thought my mother would be a person to join clubs or any thing but as soon as she moved in she went right to bingo and the next morning she went to exercise. She's really making the most out of her stay there and she loves having her own place. After moving in my mom called me the next morning and said I can't thank you enough! They made her feel so welcome and the residents there are so welcoming too. They're really doing a great job. It's been a very good transition. My mom thanks me everyday!

Happy-cheerful-place to be

The activities is not the same in the memory care area, as opposed to assisted living. The price is pretty good, compared to other places. They seem to be on top of everything. If there is a problem, they let you know. They arrange transportation/bus to and from the doctor. Modern, bright, cheerful, and clean facility.

So far so good

It is a brand new beautiful facility and staff really do make the effort and try their hardest. The social aspect of it has been great for her. Everything has been good so far, the only negative is that they seem to be understaffed. The food has taken a hit from that as well, but I think that is temporary. Overall, I would recommend them to others who are looking.

Dad's Happiness Is Wonderful

Everything is perfect at this community for my dad. The staff started him at level 1 care then it reduced to medication only. There has been progress with physical therapy and he has been gaining more stability. It is positive atmosphere and he says he is satisfied. We are happy to hear his feedback.

We are happy with this community

The staff are taking good care of my brother. The food is good and healthy. The community is well taken care of. They do offer daily activities. This community reminds me of a hotel and not an assisted living community. I would recommend this community.

my opinion

I found the residence to be very clean, appropriately quiet and very well lit. There are more than enough windows to the outside world as well as good interior lighting. The residents apprear to be quite content as they go about their daily routines.

Overall, the experience was good. Our guide was friendly and professional, answered our questions, showed us the facility, and gave us a run-down on basic costs, and additional ones. The other staff we met were friendly also. The Chelsea was clean and well taken care of. The Independent Building is separate, and except for an area for the continental breakfast and happy hour, one has to go to the other building (for dining, movies, medical, etc.). Small library and work-out room. Good medical coverage on site. Our guide could only show us a one-bedroom, and they only have six two-bedroom apartments, which are in high demand. There were some issues regarding the layout. The bedroom was small, and we would want a king-sized or twin beds. The kitchen was larger than we needed, and it seemed there was wasted space between the main room and the kitchen. There is no outdoor area in which to walk and sit. The site is in a downtown, which offers the ability to walk to some nearby stores.

Overall, would recommend

The staff was very nice, but a little short staffed on the weekends. My Mom had a smaller room on the third floor , by choice, because she would not use her walker. She never used her pendant ( call bell) and she started to spend the majority of her time in the room, even eating in her room 1-2 meals a day... she didnt want to join in activities... although the staff really encouraged her. In retrospect, she needed more supervision; we didn't realize she was starting to have symptoms of dementia. The food was very good.

Review for The Chelsea at Brookhaven

I am not the resident - my boyfriend is. I can just say that he is happy at the Chelsea, but there is very little to do. He stopped playing Bingo because he said it got too expensive for him. He goes to the Happy Hour every day and he likes that. That's it. They have some group activities (he does the exercise on Mondays), but is very disappointed that there is an art room, but no kind of instruction to learn an art activity, so he never uses the room. He's very artistic and should be going there! He's happy with the food, and even though he's very shy, he's made a couple of friends.

The walk through was nice. The staff was nice. There was no noticeable orders. It is on our list of consideration. We would be interested in the studio because of the cost plus medicine management. Also they will transition to Medicaid if the need arises. Because it is an older building it’s not as bright or open as the newer ones, but the neighbor looks good if Ingrid wanted to walk outside.

The Chelsea at Washington Township

Beautiful new facility. Love the layout of the memory care wing - It is just as nice as the assisted living side, and it gives memory care patients some independence while in a safe, supervised setting. I've looked at many other facilities where the memory care conditions were horrible - small area where the residents just sat around all day, supervised treated with no respect or dignity

This facility checked all the boxes. Staff was very courteous and friendly. All the residents we met seemed very happy to be there. The one bedroom partment layout was impressive and looked to be very functional. The only concern I had was that there was no emergency call buttons or pull cords in the apartments.

Mom has no regrets

I'm pleased based upon the ease of managing mom's arrival meeting w staff getting mom acclimated. Staff cares! Mom finds The food is hit and miss as she has food allergies. a resident council and food council meet monthly intended to meet residents needs. Mom finds the activities engaging. Of course there are more women than men so there are always people to chat with. The staff does a good job of keeping things clean. Mom has a room in what I call a suite with another woman and shared bathroom and minimal kitchen space. This can be challenging for both to navigate bathroom time as old ladies spend a lot of time in the bathroom. In general the place is cheerful mom's happy with her decision.
