Brookdale

The staff members are terrific, the accommodations are lovely & you can generally find something decent to eat. The desserts need help. The cakes & brownies are too dry & bland. They should offer more fruit.

My mom is soo happy at Brookdale. She tells people in waiting rooms at her doctors, tells people at church and her former neighbors how much she loves it there. She is almost completely blind but the staff are very kind and helpful, while allowing her to do everything she can do on her own. Mom has always been a very independent woman. She's also very social and living at home had become very solitary and lonely. Now she has joined many of the groups and activities available. She was an avid walker and at 90 was still walking 2-3 miles daily with a neighbor as her guide. The facility has an easy to remember layout and even with the severe winter we are having, she has been able to walk inside and her former neighbor comes several days to walk with her. The meals have a good variety and they are served restaurant style. Her special dietary needs are met as well. Her room is one of their medium size rooms. It's cleaned regularly and was freshly painted prior to her moving in. She has 2 closets, and brought from home 2 wardrobes, a recliner, twin bed, nightstand, a 75" flat screen TV with a stand and end table. The room has it's own heat and a/c unit which mom can adjust to her comfort. A large, wheelchair accessible bathroom. There are multiple areas thru out the facilities where you can sit with family and friends to visit. They have a community room that can be reserved for a family gathering. Assisted living is expensive, but seeing my mom be the vibrant, involved, smiling woman she was is worth every penny to me.

Brookdale is very nice and well kept. Staff always pleasant. Food was pleasant. Only had a hiccup over laundry during a time that washers and dryers not working.

Very sadly my dad's health declined and he passed away prior to moving into Brookdale. My experience with Brookdale was 100+ percent pleasant. Very very helpful and we were reimbursed fully for the funds my dad had paid towards he moving into the community.

I am beginning my 7th year here and though out the time I have greatly appreciated the warm environment ,the very good dining experience and particularly the warmth and support of the staff,who callcme by my name not apartment number.

The management was very nice and helpful in whatever need I had. They really work with you and try to help in any way they can in this very hard situation. The only reason I did not choose this facility was because I was able to get a 2 bedroom for my parents elsewhere. If this would not have been the case this would have been the facility for me.

Mary was incredibly kind and patient and took us for a really comprehensive tour of the facility. My grandparents were very impressed by the quality of the area and the housing. The heated pool was a big plus as well.

My dad has been here since [year removed]and we love the atmosphere. It is very easy communicating with the staff and they are always friendly and accommodating. The facility is clean and well managed. The activities, food, cleaning, and laundry services are all great. Maintenance is very prompt to requests or needs. If 10 stars were available, I would give them a 10. If you are looking for independent or assisted living for your loved one, I would highly recommend.

This is the most amazing place. The staff was so helpful and the tour of all the available amenities was fantastic. [name removed] did a great job explaining things to us and the residents seem so happy. We have talked with many of them the past few days and they live living here. Facility was very clean, staff helpful and very attentive to residents. Residents were in good spirits and got along well with staff Place not able to meet our needs since we need care after a surgery rather than a living location. I would be happy to live at Brookdale in Newberg if it was for me!

[name removed], led my tour. She is welcoming, smiling, knowledgeable, a good listener and straightforward. Facility has lots and lots of windows for bright light to shine in. Spacious, well lit halls are a plus for walking to individual living quarters. Impressive to see the hugh open community area, massive restaurant style dining area, craft area, and more. Each of these community areas are well marked so visitors know what area is what. The Brookdale Pinnacle is a wonderful option when choosing your Assisted Living needs so come by and see for yourself.

This wonderful facility was clean with friendly staff. The health and safety of the residents is a priority. The common areas are inviting, pleasant and easy to move around in. [name removed] was very accommodating and answered all of our questions regarding Brookdale Courtyard. The food looked good and there is a full calendar of activities for the residents. It’s located in a residential neighborhood which lends to the peaceful setting.

[name removed] was friendly, very thorough and gave me tour of the facilities including a an apartment. All my questions were answered and I was very impressed with the facility and staff.

The staff seemed knowledgeable and caring. I know if I have further questions, they'll be able to answer. I like how small it is and the staff to patient ratio.

My wife and I took a Tour of Brookdale this past Saturday. We loved our tour with Brookdale. [name removed] was amazing! She answered every question we could think of and some we didn't think of. She showed us two different room types that we were interested in and made me feel confident that my mom would be welcome and very comfortable with them. When Mom is ready to move forward. Brookdale will be the place for us. Thank you for putting us in touch with them.

[name removed] is amazing. Food has been tough to get right based on dads needs. Also often left without utensils and food is cold. Apartment size is great, residents are great. Cleanliness is okay. Location is okay. The staff is what makes this place great, although some care has been over-promised. Its the operations/understaffing that may be the thing I would say to take into consideration.

Provides activities and the food is good. Which ever family member comes to visit the say the same thing he's happy there. They are all glad that we found this wonderful place.

A 5 for all of them so far. My mom has only been there for 2.5 weeks but it's been a great experience so far. The staff is very welcoming and the residents are also. The activities coordinator is excellent and makes sure there is something for everyone. The desk staff is kind and helpful. It really feels like one big family. The maintenance staff is exceptional and patient.
