Brookdale

Great experience. Staff very friendly. They seem to really care for their residents. And consider them to be one big happy family. My Mom will be living here when released from rehab. I think she will be happy here. And get the care she needs at this stage of her life. Thank you for your help in finding her a new home.

The ratings for all would be a 5. Except for the activities, those receive no ratings because we are not able to observe. However, what we like the most about the community is that the staff are attentive to my questions, the facility is bright and a happy environment. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The staff is so caring. They seem to take the time off to get to know the occupants well. The facility is very clean and decorated for all occasions.

From the moment we walked into the community, we felt a genuine sense of warmth and care. [removed name], the manager, is truly exceptional—compassionate, attentive, and always available. His leadership is evident in every aspect of the community, and it shows through the incredible team he has built. The staff is supportive, patient, and consistently goes above and beyond to make residents feel safe, respected, and valued. The food is another highlight—nutritious, thoughtfully prepared, and enjoyed by the residents. It’s clear that great care is taken to ensure meals are both comforting and enjoyable. Most importantly, this community truly feels like home. Families are welcomed with open arms, communication is excellent, and there is a strong sense of trust and peace knowing loved ones are in such caring hands. We are incredibly grateful for [removed names] and the entire team for creating such a positive, loving environment.

I appreciated the time Jessica spent to show me the facility and to explain how it functioned. I could see that the staff shared respect for the residents by how they greeted and treated each other. The members of the staff that I met seemed to enjoy working together. Were I to need a space in the future for my husband, I would definitely choose Brookdale in Onalaska.

[name removed] is doing well at Brookdale, and has made some new acquaintances there. Also the food is adequate but she has said the service is a little slow for her. She hasn't made any other complaints that I'm aware of.

When I toured Brookdale, I was first asked about my mother, likes, dislikes, history, current state, etc. It was warm and conversational, putting me at ease. [removed name] provided lots of information about services and gave me a brochure with an overview and more information. We toured 2 apartments, large and medium, which were nice and homey. The residents all seemed friendly and happy. Lots of activities were available and the facilities were clean and welcoming. The final decision concerning my mother has yet to be made, but Brookdale would certainly be a fine place for her.

They do their best to help all the families they care for. Some things do fall between the cracks, but it's not important enough to reconsider. My dad has needed a TV mounted for over a year. It's an irritant, but I've also seen him look better now than he ever did while I was caring for him or when he was caring for himself.

Dad needed a little help after getting out the hospital. After checking out a few places in the area, we picked Brookdale. The facility is very nice, cozy, inviting and the staff is top-notch. Everyone there has been really friendly, helpful... sweet even. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better home for your loved one.

They are helpful when you need them and they do what they can to make you happy. I have lived here over 2 years. They keep the community very clean. I love my apartment and it is also close to the dining room and lobby. There are always people in the lobby to talk to throughout the day and scheduled activities if you are looking to keep busy.

My wife came to this facility not at all willing for the experience but in 3+ months said she's feeling safe here and she is okay for the short term. That's which more than I'd expected.

The people are friendly! There are several services which I can take advantage of. I really appreciate the transportation for doctor appointments which frees up my daughter for her work and family. Recently I had an issue in my apartment and the problem was fixed very quickly, even on the weekend! I feel very safe here. My neighbors and I check in on each other every day and we have a great relationships. The food is great. Dinners are wonderful with having fish everyday. I like the staff seat me with other residents. I enjoy meeting new residents. While I miss my home, this is a great alternative and I’m happy to have made the decision to move here.

[removed name] always does whatever it takes to make it better for the residents. She works hard and stays focused even though there is disorganization surrounding her. She is someone you can count on and the residents sometimes don't even know how much she does. But she does and everyone needs to know how much she gives to BROOKDALE. We are very lucky to have her.

Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Spacious apartments, nice chairs for residents to sit in hallways, railings throughout for walking, residents can have a pet, beautiful patio with a koa pond and residents can feed the fish, beautiful birds in hallway. Everything at this facility is well thought out and designed with comfort for your loved one in mind. Activities director was very upbeat and happy. The director is an outstanding human and very knowledgeable. Love this place.
