Brookdale

My brother was quite happy there and overall we were pleased with the care he received. The atmosphere was very pleasant...friendly and caring, but also quiet and respectful of each person's privacy. Activities...hard to rate as my brother, who was at Brookdale, did not participate in too many activities...but the family events at holidays were very nice...4.My brother needed a high level of care and the staff did well with accommodating his needs. The Director of Wellness was on top of his issues and addressed my concerns quickly. She seemed to genuinely care about the residents. I am sure different people have had different experiences there depending on staff at the time. My brother passed away about a month ago....but he really liked his Brookdale "home" until the end...the staff took a liking to him and would joke with him as well, so he felt very comfortable there. We were sorry his time there could not have been longer. We (myself and his son) thank "A Place for Mom" for the recommendation.

They are very willing to work with families. Very friendly which was a great comfort feeling for my mom. She did not want to go into independent living at all, even tried to convince me to retire and take care of her. It was a rough 3 months but she has been there over a year now and loves it. Has friends , gets involved and staff is very caring when anyone has an issue. Her health has actually improved because she feels comfortable and relaxed. Once we hung her drapes , she said it now feels like home. Would highly recommend!

Everyone at the facility made mom feel welcome and encouraged her to get involved in activities. I can't say enough about how great the experience has been. Mom seems to be thriving at Brookdale .

Everyone is very helpful at all time. Too cold in dining room and generally cold in public areas.

Mother is happy here and staff are very responsive! They are very caring people who have responded to mother's request quickly. They could improve on the food by having more selections and time meals are served. Not sure the time for breakfast but lunch is 11:30 to 12:30 and dinner is 4.:30 to 5:30. I Not a fan of the way the dining hall is ran. They will not open the doors until 11:30 or 4:30 and people just gather at the doors. Why not let them in to socialize??? Also the staff seems to be in a big hurry. Just my opinion.

What we like the most about Brookdale Cypress Station is the friendliness, but would like to see some improvement on the responding time of the request. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Brookdale East Niskayuna caters to dementia and Alzheimer's patients only. It is small which allows for a quieter atmosphere.

Food is limited on options sometimes due to the large number of people to cook for. I believe it would be that way anywhere. Dad orders out if there is nothing on the menu he wants to eat. Out of the 5 months there, he has ordered out 2 times. Pretty good for him. The activities are geared more for women but that is because the men won't participate in planning. I really love this place

This place has been a wonderful place to be. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and very professional. I’ve always felt safe. I would recommend to others. Get the room with the vie. I’ve enjoyed my time here!

Honestly, I think 5 for all. I think the facility needs a make over but everything is going great. The last couple of months the staff has found my father in a common area(not laid out on the floor) but in need of assistance. Twice they have called me...once prior too 911 only because he was refusing, the second time after 911 to let me know what happened. Both times I acknowledged their concerns and voiced my appreciation. Loved ones are cared for here.

The staff I have encounter are very contention and very concerned about the well being of all residents that I have talked with.

My moms experience has been very good at Brookdale. She hasn't been there very long so maybe come back and ask me in about 6 months but for now, she's doing well. It's also important to note that she's not in the memory care unit. So my responses are for the general assisted living section. I believe where my mom is now at Brookdale, we do still have to pay if she ends up up in the hospital.

very awesome community with great staff and managers! will always recommend! everyone is always nice and always smiling with a positive attitude. one of the cleanest buildings around. a wonderful place for your loved one.

I would give each a 5. My brother went into assisted living 5 years ago in the middle of COVID. He had a hotel room nothing more, now he's in 2 rooms with a kitchenette apartment, more affordable on a fixed income. The staff is wonderful! He was in the hospital recently and they called him to see how he was doing. Just amazing from the place he was in for 5 years before moving him to Brookdale. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THEIR NAME!

We had a great experience and felt welcomed in my mother's short stay before she passed.

Everyone here is polite and compassionate, with a genuine and caring spirit. As a result, Mom has settled in quite nicely. She enjoys the other residents and the multitude of activities that are offered. We can feel comfortable and confident leaving the facility knowing that Mom is being well taken care of. That offers her loved ones a great sense of relief and peace of mind. We thank this wonderful and compassionate staff!

5 all across the board. My Step Father was at Brookdale and he was kind of a grump. The staff there did everything we ( his daughters) asked of them even when our Dad was being stubborn and agitated. I'm believe it's worth the price to ensure your loved ones are well cared for.

I'd give all 5's but #7 a 4. They are in need of a big multipurpose room for activities. It's cramped in the lobby that they use. The employees are friendly and it's a clean facility and yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.
