Best Care Senior Living LLC

My wife has moved in to The Palms of Punta Gorda. She likes everyone there and gets along great, she is friends with everyone. The staff are outstanding! The accomodations and food are not the best or fanciest but that can be expected for it to be mediocre. Once a week they have a man bring in puppies and she really enjoys that. There is also a banjo band that comes in and plays, which is also enjoyed.

The rooms are small, but the facility is clean and run well. The staff is very attentive to the residents and they are always so nice. There is a pleasant atmosphere here and we are satisfied with the level of care.

Everything is going well so far. The staff is great and the facility is nice, clean, and well taken care of. The residents are taken care of as well.

The staff at The Cottages treated mom really well. Their strong point is their staff, they are friendly and there is an abundance of them. The residents there treated mom well too, they were very warm and welcoming. It was an all around good experience here.

I toured Superior Residences because it is close to my home. I did not like it because they had things like a set bathroom time, where they would take the residents to the bathroom at the same time rather when they have to go. it was not what we were looking for.

My friend is doing very well. She has a good environment. The community is excellent and great but they have one downfall. The director of nursing is not able to communicate with me nor follow through with doctor's order and getting some medications. I am disappointed with the way she does show concern in the residents and some of the staff follow her ways. Ellen is a brand new staff and she is very great at following through with anything. I now have a contact to communicate with.

I like the size. It is a smaller community. They need to improve on keeping track of residents' clothing, bedding and supplies. Communication about health issues could be better.

The meals are always hot and nice size portions. Staff is always willing to assist and answer questions timely. Activities are good and family allowed to participate.

A majority of the staff are friendly and caring towards the residents. The facility is kept fairly clean compared to other facilities of its kind. I would recommend it to others.

I think it's important to know the level of the person being placed. My mom has been declining so when I moved her into unit 3, thinking she was in the high functioning category, it didn't go well. She didn't get the care she needed because she was not in the right unit. She is doing much better, the additional staff helps a lot and they are really great! The Admin staff are easy to talk to and the staff in general are really great. The food is really good!!

Keep in mind that they specialize in dementia/alz. Only one nurse on duty 6-2pm M-F for entire facility. Activities were great and important to her. Constantly change in staff including director.

There doing there job.My mom seems a little better than when I watched her.She don't care for the food most times but she is picky.I picked the place because it was the cheapest.My mom has little money and if Veterans don't pay soon I will have to pay the difference it's crazy they take 3-4 months to approve.If the rent was any higher mom would still be living with me. So I'm glad if she stays in good shape with them.She goes on walks and I'm glad she knows where her room is located.

Overall it was ok. There was never total neglect, but we feel one overnight aid was not sufficient since there were always residents walking around. And we were there quite a bit, sometimes late into the night. We rarely witnessed bed checks even though they were to be checked every two hours. We asked if they kept a log of the bed checks but was told no. Facility was always clean. Front staff was always friendly, and most of the aids, but there were times the aids would just sit watching TV when the residents needed attention, such as changing soiled underwear or clothing. Many times staff could not be found and had to hunt, found them all gathered in the break room. Would be better if they had plastic or melamine plates rather than breakable ceramic plates. Activities were posted but not held. Only activity done was blowing up a balloon and batting it around until it fell on the ground, then it was just left there.

I did do an actual tour for Senior Residences of Brandon. That one seemed outdated a bit. The biggest reason why we did not go that route was because of location. It boiled down to location and affordability.

Our experience was not great. I would recommend looking for a different place for your family member. My loved one had to go to the hospital and was severely dehydrated - how does that happen in a care facility? I did not care for Superior Residences of Lecanto at all.

I liked this place but residents did not seem as active. It wasn't mush interaction.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour was nice but nothing really stood out to us about the community.

The nursing staff there is great, but the administration not so much. However they are currently going through a transition with different management and to add covid on top of that we feel that it is not quite their fault. They have always been good about communicating and the director is doing a great job. They are vaccinating the residents, and the people have just done a phenomenal job with our loved one, they have been really good with her.

Occupancy is less than half of possible. Tour guide was very perfunctory. Very secure but rooms were scattered about in 2 buildings and not at all inviting. Staff ratio is 10/1 patients checked on every 2 hours. I didn't like the comment that people could choose to stay in their beds if they want. For respite care cost is $150. per night.

definitely not enough caregivers. Generally only one attendant at a time. Patients have issues in their rooms and CG need to help them and have to leave others unattended. I have not seen any activity in wing 3 and I visit on different days and different times. Never any fresh fruit or snacks in this unit Beds not cleaned often enough. Nurses are nice.
