Benchmark Senior Living

It's going okay. I would like to have better aides. They are friendly enough, but they don't do a great job. I don't have any issues with the cleanliness, and there isn't really anything else I would like to see improved or done better. Just better aides.

Overall things have gone well with The Atrium. Generally we have been happy with the care and services they've provided, although sometimes I feel like they could improve their methods of communication. I often don't feel like messages don't always make it through the chain of command to the person they need to get to. But otherwise everything has been good. The staff are all very friendly and personable, and they have all sorts of activities to keep the residents active and engaged.

This was just a month long respite stay, so not based on a long term residence. I think they were overall satisfied. The people were great. I believe it was kept pretty clean. There were a few times that they had to wait a little while for some assistance, not a long time, but longer than they would have liked. There was not enough staff in the dining room, the food was often cold, even things like coffee and eggs. There wasn't enough activity going on, it was a good safe place, but there weren't a lot of activities, they had some that didn't really appeal to my parents, bingo and things like that. The people there, Holly the manager, the nurse Deborah, and Andrea, could not have gone more out of their way to make it happen for my parents. They went out of their way to stay late and greet them when they came earlier than expected, they were very responsive to my parents. The most important things were handled really well, and we really appreciated that.

They really do an excellent job here at Greenwich Farms! It's a beautiful, well maintained facility, and it has a very warm friendly atmosphere. Now that Mom has settled in and gotten used to the community I'd give them 5s across the board. However, we did have a bit of a rocky start here which is why I gave them a 4 overall. This was an upsetting change for Mom, and I think they could have done a bit more to help ease the transition. I would also have liked to see them communicate a bit better with the rehab facility she was in previously, there was a bit of confusion during the first few weeks there as well. However now that she has settled in she is secure, happy, social, and showing a lot of improvement both mentally and physically!

Very nice facility. Attractive decor inside and well kept grounds outside. Staff and residents very friendly. Eric Calderwood took us on the tour. He is professional but at the same time personable; answered our questions and addressed our concerns. The apartments are nice. Kitchen area has a small stove and a microwave.Very much liked the size of the facility, not overwhelmingly large for walking to/from diningroom or activity areas. Enjoyed a delicious meal in the country kitchen. Great location in lovely residential section of the city, yet close to local amenities for shopping, medical, entertainment,etc. Apartments are rented on a monthly basis and do not need to be purchased by occupant. Nurse and CNAs on-site to assist residents with medical and personal care needs.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. We were impressed by what we saw here, and liked it very much! It was a clean, well kept facility, and the staff were all very friendly and professional. Unfortunately they didn't have any openings when we toured, but they are definitely a facility worth looking into.

It's very clean, and the staff is very nice. She is very unhappy with the food, I have had lunch there, and it was satisfactory, but dinner is dreadful. It's not fresh, it's mostly frozen. We go out at least twice a week for dinner, because she just won't eat. We have been told by other residents, not to eat the hamburgers, because they are like hockey pucks. The activities are okay, but there should be more singing, and less of the activities director talking at them. It seems like they don't give enough chance for the residents to give their opinion or respond. The nostalgia thing is too scripted, in my opinion. The community is terrific with response if she brings anything up or if there is an issue, they take care of it right away. They are very nice people, and they seem to really want to be there. This was the most active place, and the staff was the most involved of the places we saw. It is very homey, we like it.

It's been great! There haven't been any concerns, the place has been really great. There have been little things, but that is just part of it. I am very thankful we have found the place. My mother is actually more active than she has ever been. It has been a Godsend!

In the first year one would expect a certain amount of staff turnover. Sanctuary Care had more than we expected. It seems to have leveled off which makes it much easier on the residents.

Seems to be best fit for Virginia, very accommodating, and very anxious to add Virginia as resident. Score on assessment quite high initially, but Robbins Brook appears to be willing to approach from long range perspective. We were very impressed with sense of community and staff quality. When they discover how much Ginny can do for herself, her Assessment score should begin to drop.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. This was a very nice looking community, and very clean and well kept from what we saw. The staff were very friendly and informative during the tour. Cost was a big issue, however. It was an expensive facility, and there were a lot of a la carte charges that could increase the bill.

My loved one has only been there for a little while. They do expanded care, which assisted living doesn’t offer. It's either a nursing home or a place like this... The parking was okay. My loved one hasn’t complained about the food and my loved one was a good cook.

Outstanding facility with great support staff. We have a VERY reluctant resident, and we really the staff to convince her what a truly wonderful facility it is; a work in progress...

My family toured five other facilities before deciding to move my parents to Putnam Farm. What impressed us the most, was the homey feel, the seemingly friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, and the fact that the facility had received many service awards from their parents company. My folks have only been there a little over one week so it is to soon to make any long term assessment. So far all the staff we have met have been extremely accomodating.

She is doing so well here! It’s like she’s going to live for another 100 years. They offer two food choices every day. They offer two field trips a months, for an additional cost of $20, but they are fun. They are arts and crafts. They’re doing a spring fling this week. One thing we ran into trouble with was that we had a CT DNR we have to get a MA for it to be effective there. There is an initial $6000 fee.

I am very pleased with The Atrium! We've had to hire some extra caregivers to be with my loved one and provide extra services, but they are doing a good job. I think that they might not have enough help here. However, they do take them all the way through hospice, which is very nice, so they don't have to move again. They may just be understaffed a bit. However, it's a wonderful place! It's very clean and the people are wonderful. Even the residents are great and friendly! Our old friend, who is now a minister, has even said that this is one of the best places he's been to! It's very welll run, aside from the understaffing, and they are doing a good job.

I found Ridgefield Crossings to be a warm, friendly and supportive environment to both family and residents. My father is difficult to draw out and the staff continues to work hard to make him feel comfortable and accepted at HIS pace. As with all new situations, there are mutual things to learn about expectations and procedures. I found the staff open to suggestion where we had minor shortcomings and exceptionally sensitive to resolving those issues during our first 30 days. I continue to be impressed closing in on our first 60 days.

We moved my loved one here from a facility in Massachusetts since the laws in NH allow for a higher level of care to be handled by non-nursing staff. This meant he was able to stay in an assisted living level community, whereas in MA he would be in nursing care. The staff here are very friendly, in particular the charge nurse for his floor, Cathy, has been great. The facility itself is nice looking, and they always keep it very clean.

The kindness and friendliness of the staff is making my mother happy most of the time, even though she didn't adapt to the change from home easily. She was used to my one on one attention for four and a half years. But she is coming around, thanks to their help.

I thought they did a great job here, overall. It was a well kept and clean community, and the staff were all very friendly and professional. From what I could see it looked like they had a good variety of activities, although that wasn't something my loved one participated in. The care was excellent, and I thought they did a particularly good job with their memory care unit.
