Benchmark Senior Living

Our family had an in person tour experience and the tour was fine, but it was just not a place we would want our husband we do not think they were set up to handle his level of care.

We toured at The Village at Willow Crossing, and we thought it was a very nice place. But they wanted too much money. And on top of that, they wanted a buy-in too.

They have always had a lot of activities going on, the residents are always kept very busy. The staff have been very outgoing and welcoming to all the people who have come to visit, and now the activities are open to the public and they are just so kind to everyone who participates in the activities with their loved ones. Also this community is set up in a very nice way for those who have memory loss issues.

Our tour at Benchmark Robbins Brook was very good. I thought it would have been an excellent place. They were just a little to far away for us. And the only reason I gave four stars was because we didn't bring our loved one, so we didn't get an opportunity to see how they would interact with her.

Some of the staff members are amazing and go above and beyond, but others not so much. The main building is very clean but the individual house keeping could be improved. The meals are good, but the activities could be catered more towards men and offer more of a variety other than cards. The value for cost needs to be cheaper for what our loved one is receiving, it seems like everything is just nickel and dime.

The staff members are all very friendly, and even though they are short handed like many other communities they do a good job keeping the place clean. The meals and dining service is great, the meals are wonderful. The have a lot of activities as long as the residents participate the the staff do a great job encouraging.

This community had a very cold vibe to it. I did not like the feeling and I knew that it would not fit my loved ones needs.

Our family had an in person tour and this was a wonderful wonderful tour, we wanted this to be the place for our loved one but the price was just way to extreme for us.

We chose Benchmark because they have assisted and independent living, so it is a mix of people and abilities. He got a really big studio apartment and it is great. The orientation program was not explained very well, so they could use some improvements there to help with the transition for the residents and their family members. Overall I would recommend to other families who are looking.

I emphasize the relationship between the resources at The Atrium and the capabilities and needs of the clients. I think The Atrium is more attuned to deal with the more capable residents with less decline than they are to deal with the ones who need more prompting and assistance. But overall I think the staff are attentive and very much involved with their clients. They're adequately staffed. The facility is quite adequate as well. I think activates are adequate for those who can participate, but inadequate for those who need more prompting. I do like that the fact that they're dedicated to memory care only, and not just just a memory care unit in a shared facility with assisted living like I found in other places.

It's something you don't want to have to do. But if you need to, they're very good. They're very attentive, and the facilities are neat and accessible. It's close to my home, which is good. I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to food. My wife is a chef and her cooking is excellent, so some of the meals here are not that good and tend to be repetitive. But overall I would recommend them to others.

Overall we're very happy. I really thin there needs to be an activity after dinner though. That's a difficult time for a lot of patients, and there is no activity at that time. They've also been a little slow on setting an appointment o have us come in and reevaluate our loved one's situation. But I think the best thing about them is the staff, from custodial, to maintenance, to helpers, to food staff. Everyone is wonderful and caring toward the patients, and that's what matters.

All of the staff were friendly and I thought it was a nice place for him, there were a lot of good things about it. He acted up and I do not think they handled the situation well at all. If your loved one just needs assisted living it would be a really great fit, but I would not recommend for memory care.

Sturges Ridge was good. They gave us a wonderful tour. Like all the other places we toured, the rooms were good, and the services were all pretty much the same between the different facilities.

I think the facility was pretty clean, including my loved one's room. Although tidiness could use improvement, for instance the way clothes were put away, etc. Perhaps my expectations were not realistic. The staff were very friendly, but they were understaffed. I think there was some confusion/misunderstanding between the director and myself. I was told they would have a podiatrist coming in, as well as OT and PT, which I said I was interested in. And she said my loved one would be getting all of those services. But that didn't really happen. She only got those services the last 2-3 weeks she was there during a 2-month respite stay. And when she got home and I looked at her feet, it did not look like she had seen a podiatrist. They said they would go on outings for ice cream and things, which never happened. And I was told different reasons as to why. I think their communication with each other could use improvement. They would contact me and say she urgently needed Depends, but when I would get there, she had two packages in the closet. Same with a "lost" sweater that was right there in the closet. But everybody was very friendly to deal with. My loved one was always clean and in clean clothes. Her general care was always fine. I just think there were some misunderstandings. They kept in contact with me, and I appreciated the communication. They included my loved one and invited her to activities. I think they did a good job with activities and offered a variety of different things - music, coloring, puzzles, etc. I just would have liked to see her get outside more. But overall I feel like it was a good value. And for respite care, I would choose The Atrium over skilled nursing in a heartbeat.

Our family had an in person tour and the people were nice but the dining room was very small, not very appealing and almost looked like an office break room. It felt kind of cold, so if you are someone who just wants to be alone this is probably the place. Also the pricing structure was not going to work with our family.

We chose The Branches because of how clean it was, everyone seemed to be happy, and I was just happy from the minute we walked in. They offer private and shared rooms, he is in a private and it fits him well. I would for sure recommend to others.

Overall the facility seems a little understaffed, and I know so many places are right now. The nurses are very sweet with the people. But I don't think they have enough of them to really go around. We have to kind of bother them to makes sure our loved one regularly showers. The staff themselves I really do like. They are very caring individuals. I don't see as many activities going on as I would like to see, but they do singing and dancing, which is a lot of fun for the residents. I've seen trivia type of questions and polishing their nails. Cleanliness could use some work. The carpets have little stains and are well worn, and we've had to call their attention to some things that need cleaning. We see a lot of dust. And that's hard to see when I have a different family member at another community that's kept really clean.

We chose Benchmark Senior Living because it was close to where mom used to live and close to her church she goes too. We also got a better feeling when walking in here compared to some other places we looked into. The room sizes are good. I would recommend to others looking.

It's a friendly place. They take good care of you. They're really on the ball here usually. I've had no problems at all so far. The living space is 1500 square feet, more than spacious. They come in once a week to clean and do an okay job. The food always comes out hot, and they serve it promptly. Usually it's ample, and if you want seconds they provide them. It's better institutional food than you would normally get.
