Benchmark Senior Living

My mother is a resident at The Village at Buckland Court. The front desk staff is top notch! They gave us access to an alternative door during the move in process. This facility has great programming and great food. The housekeeping and laundry both do a good job and have consistent schedules, which is helpful! The staff have a careful process in place if there's a resident with Covid. The nursing is a little slow to respond, but it's for routine concerns not for anything urgent. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others.

Our family had an in person tour with Benchmark Senior Living and we thought they did a very nice job on the tour experience, we liked them but it was another communities location that was going to be the better fit

It comes down to no one is going to take care of your loved one the way you would want to buy bottom line- my mom was safe and all her needs were met. All these places are sooooo expensive. I would mind spending the money if it went to the aids and the ones really doing the hard work not the big guy

Things that stick out the most - Very friendly staff; warm and welcoming. The facility is very clean and nice. I would like to see them pay a bit more attention to my parents' personal appearance, but that is not crucial. My parents are happy and engaged. I would absolutely, highly recommend Benchmark of Rye to those looking for memory care for their loved ones.

The aides and activities team were wonderful and really cared for my Dad. The nurse [name removed] was also really kind. I had issues with the director of nursing though. She was difficult to reach, often unresponsive, and once accused my dad of having "bad manners". I was appalled by that comment, being directed to a man who suffers from dementia. Overall I would recommend Branches, but had a bad experience with the one nursing director

Overall we loved my dad's experience at the crossings in Leominster, which was about 4 months. Dad had dementia, which continued to advance quickly. They were wonderful helping us navigate his care. My only 2 complaints were that dad had neurovirus about 1 month before he passed. As family members, we were all exposed, either from him or the surfaces in his room. Some of us were very sick. I asked that the room be thoroughly disinfected in an email and believe I was ignored. It was never done. The virus was known to be at the crossings for quite some time. We continued to get sick a good month after he had it. My only other disappointment was that after dad passed early on a Saturday morning at the crossings, we never received any condolences from the director, who was wonderful during my dad's entire stay. I only bring it up so that he can be made aware of how nice it would have been to receive a call from him.

I really feel like my mom is in good hands.Staffing has been an issue because of the tight employment market. I like the staff a lot but they just need a few more qualified people. My loved one is in the memory care unit and chooses to not participate in activities unfortunately. Responsiveness of staff can be spotty. There are a few really stellar people who know what's going on and when you have a question or issue, they get back to you quickly. With others, it's like crickets--no response, nothing.

We could not have found a better home or better care for our 90 year old Mom. She has always been an independent woman, but as she aged has become more isolated in the home she has lived in for more than 50 years, almost 30 of them alone. She is now living with new friends right outside her door. And company at every mealtime. And food prepared for her that she likes. And has her hair done weekly. She participates in an exercise class daily, and tells us about the activities that she is enjoying participating in as well as opportunities to share some of her skills with others. The staff is very caring, she considers many of them friends too. Though she still struggles with this big change in her life, she appreciates that so many things are better and easier for her. We look forward to a day soon when she thinks less of what she left behind and can more fully enjoy the many blessings of where she is now.

Benchmark Senior Living at Robbins Brook facilities were modern and clean. There were more men in the facility comlared to the others. It appeared to be the best fit, and also, it was my ideal choice in my town. I would recommend to other families.

From the start of the search, their staff were very helpful and empathetic knowing the decision was very difficult. The staff are very attentive and proactive. They communicate well with the family about medical issues and involvement in activities. The staff know residents and family members by name and welcome everyone! Housekeeping is good, but at times you need to remind them of things they might have missed. The meals are good, but the menu should change seasonally so they don't get tired of the same foods. I do recommend this facility to family and friends.

Common areas are clean, daily sides often forget to empty mom's wastebaskets. The staff are friendly, although mom had plant in hall next to window that all admired. Went missing one day. With the quality of care they stepped up services after hospital stay, however additional help is very spotty, mom often gets impatient and showers on her own. Our loved one likes food but says it often isn't hot enough. Dining room is cold, many residents wear jackets during meals. With activities they are no longer providing residents printed list of weekly events, requires going to main desk to find out what's up that day. Value for cost - don't see value of stepped up care

Overall, from what I've seen, things have been great at this facility. The facility is very clean. The staff is great. My loved one has mentioned that she likes the food. Whenever I ask her if there's anything she would like me to bring her to eat, she says no. Quality of care is not something I can intelligently assess, but I have noticed my loved one is doing much better and it makes me believe she should stay at Bedford Falls. I have not been to any of the activities, but my loved one did mention a very enjoyable time with one particular entertainer.

My loved one is a resident at The Village at South Farms. The staff is friendly. I think they should have more Aides on the Memory Care floors, dependent on resident needs. Housekeeping is fine, nothing spectacular. I would recommend this facility to friends and family.

Our family cannot comment on activities because our loved one did not participate in them, but based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend the River Ridge at Avon community to other families.

Overall the value is good and all of our likes about the community follows the higher scores like cleanliness ad friendliness. What we also really like is the have a nice family room for family gatherings where they have a reasonable menu the family can order from. It makes it really nice when we can bring family to visit our loved one. The staffing is the biggest day to day challenge that everyone in this industry is facing, and at times it can be very apparent here. Sometimes the staff they bring in to help could be trained a little more but they just don't have the time to train. However we do believe the director and her staff are trying very hard to resolve the staffing issue. The staff there are very nice and really work very hard. We would certainly recommend this community to other families.

We went here for more support for my uncle needing help transferring. The staff is very experienced and good at this. We came from a smaller facility where staff visited residents frequently. Found this larger facility to be less personal. However, they have excellent physical and occupational therapy support. My uncle gets it delivered to room usually. Often cold, in Styrofoam. He needs more help with it than they usually give.

[name removed] was a nice community, in fact they were most likely our second choice. However, we preferred another community a bit more and decided to go in that direction.

I would definitely recommend the community to a friend-especially because of the staff, they take care of my parents like they were their own. My dad had a seizure the first month there. Everyone from the waitstaff to maintenance/cleaners to front desk to the nursing staff were fantastic. They handled everything like professionals and were so kind and caring to my mom as my dad had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days. They were in constant contact with me about both of my parents daily. They made sure my mom was cared for being alone. When my dad came home the care continued until they both were settled from the incident. Benchmark was the best decision we made.

The location is lovely. You have to review the billing very carefully. They are not responsive to questions. If your loved one has dietary needs, this is not the place for them. They don't seem to be willing to accommodate even the easiest diet restrictions.

For the retired professional who belonged to a country club they would like the atmosphere at Greenwhich Farms. It's for a discerning resident who can afford an ala carte fee schedule. The staff is very friendly caring and helpful.
