Benchmark Senior Living

It's a beautiful place with some great employees. Our mother called it home and truly loved living there. She thrived living there & she loved all the activities. We all wished mom had been there sooner so she could have enjoyed it even longer. I would certainly recommend The Village at Willow Crossings to any friends or family members looking for a quality and caring center for their loved one's.

It is really a great place overall. The only thing is - the family member always has to remain an advocate for their loved one, and that would be the case anywhere you might choose. But the atmosphere is bright and homey. It's in a nice location. There are nice areas to walk around outside, and they have a couple of patios. The activities are varied and hold the interest of the residents. I think there could be different activities introduced based on the residents' desires - I wish they would ask about that. But they really do care about the residents. The staff are great. They could improve on the actual execution of care. But any concerns we've raised to management have been taken seriously, and they take the appropriate action.

Crescent Point At Niantic has a beautiful location; it's comfortable and easy. They're very friendly when you come in, especially with everyone having to wear a mask and taking your temperature, just everything that comes with this stage that we're in right now. They haven't always gotten back when I've called and asked questions, so I did have to be a pain sometimes. But, all in all, they definitely care for the people that are there.

They've been very helpful, but they don't meet the criteria for our long term care insurance. However, it's worth looking into it. I like the residents. They're friendly and we have good interactions there. The caregivers are friendly and helpful as well.

As far as the layout of the community and all of the furnishings we liked it more because if gave off that homey feeling which is what we were wanting for our loved one. We have not had a meal ourselves but our loved one seems to be enjoying them. We do see different activities going on during the day and we would recommend Ashland Farm to other families.

It has been a very positive. Be sure to pay attention, and advocate for your loved when needed. Overall, I am very satisfied.

It's an aging population. Sometimes it seems more like rehab or nursing faclity. They have been getting new residents. The people are really great. The staff is very helpful and accomodating.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour experience it just was not the most suitable for our loved needs

My brother was very picky and unhappy there because he just wanted to go back home. He complained a lot about the food. I felt the staff bent over backwards to get us in there, but once we were there, there was often a lack of communication and not as much warmth as there was at the beginning. My brother didn't care to socialize, but I found the people there very pleasant. They set up his meds with PillPack, so he was getting the medications he needed, and he was also getting the help he needed with showering.

I toured Crescent Point at Niantic and they were going through some renovations at the time. I actually took two tours; during the first one she took a lot more time to show us everything as we were just beginning our search. The second tour was not as thorough, perhaps because I already knew it. I saw their memory care area during my second tour as I didn't see it during the first one. We chose another community because we got more bang for our buck, and the apartments were much nicer.

Overall I love the place and would highly recommend the facility to others. When we were looking, I visited a lot of other places as well. Benchmark has a very homey atmosphere and does not feel institutional at all.

I didn't feel it had the right set up for my loved one. They did have aides for overnight care and a nurse on call.

Excellent care and communication in the memory care unit. However, the communications from the facility executive were atrocious.

There was a lot of turnover of staff and a lot from agencies. The first activities director they had was WONDERFUL but then the others did not stay very long. They had some really really good staff - but they just could not keep them which was disappointing and caused a lack of care. He did not get what he needed. The facility itself is very attractive and has a wonderful layout for memory care - his room was lovely and had a lot of natural light.

My loved one really enjoys, the interaction with other people. She engages in social activites-, and was alone before being around others. She really enjoys bingo and exercise classes. Overall, it has been a positive experience. There was an issue with care services, which included two showers per week, and she was only gettinf one but that issue has been resolved. Overall, I am very happy.

Institutional food is hard to please everybody with and we do understand that, but we do wish they could acknowledge better when residents are vegetarian so that can be an improvement. However when it comes to the activities they bend over backwards for them, they are great. The overall value for the money seems to be more on the reasonable end of things we compared it to. We would definitely recommend this community to other families based on our experience so far

In general it is one of the better places but they do need some improvements - the food needs to be improved and they are short staffed. It is a sign of the times and with their not being enough staff, the staff that is there working are stressed and do not always necessarily present a good face to the clients.

Our tour at The Village at Buckland Court was okay. The people were very pleasant there. We liked it overall, except the rooms were not big enough. And our loved one preferred a different location.
