Benchmark Senior Living

The community was always very nicely taken care of. The staff was exceptionally friendly. They know everyone's name and very helpful and caring. The care for my mother has been excellent. They have been very accommodating and they clearly go out of their way to care for the residents. The nursing staff and the director is excellent! The food is great and I personally don't mind eating there at all. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been delivering the residents' three meals a day to their rooms.

The community is very clean. The dinning room staff is very congenial to my sister and are very friendly with her and she has commented on this several times. The times I was able to visit it was very pleasant and I thought my sister was being well taken care of. The food was very good and the portions are a bit smaller, which my sister likes. She also likes that you can go back for more but it wasn't too much all at once. They are also very accommodating with the resident's preferences in terms of the food. The activities were also great and they had good variety. I was impressed with what they offered. When we toured, the tour itself was wonderful and we were treated to lunch. They were very accommodating and they even followed up with my sister and kept in touch with her. They visited at her home and made sure she was comfortable with moving and eventually, she decided she was ready to move.

The community was always clean. The staff tries to keep the residents engaged and are very friendly. They also have good communication with the families when they need. My family member is a little reluctant to receive help, but the staff is very accommodating and with always be willing to talk with us and address any of our concerns. My family member complains about the food, so we think it could be a little better. They do have activities available for the residents.

My Mom was a resident of Ridgefield Crossings for the past 8 years, about 4 years on the traditional side and 4 years in Harbor, the memory care unit. Since I needed to fly to visit her, I would stay a week, about 4 times a year, spending most of the day shadowing her, participating in activities with her, helping when I could. I really got to see her daily life. The associates were wonderful. They were caring, compassionate and competent. I had many discussions with them over my Mom's changing abilities and health. They were truly on top of her condition. Mom grew to love her aides. Mom had several different apartments over the years and they were all well kept and suited her needs at that time. The activities were well planned and reflected consideration of her abilities. There was always music, particularly live performances, several times a week. When Mom turned 100 years old last fall, we had a lovely party for her at the facility with the help of the personnel at Ridgefield. With the lockdown for Covid-19, I totally appreciated the virtual visits which the associates made sure happened. Ridgefield Crossings is a first rate establishment. My Mom was well cared for up until the end of her days (natural causes) and I would highly recommend this facility.

The community is very clean and very well presented. The staff is really fantastic. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been very communicative and have reached out personally several times to give us updates. The personal contact is great here, because my father came in right at the beginning of the community lock down, the staff has done a good job of checking in with him and going the extra mile to make sure he is comfortable. In terms of activities, most have been stopped due to the virus, however they have had some limited options available for the residents outdoors. They have really gone the extra mile for both my farther and us as the family.

My father needs extra care and there is always someone that is there helping him. They have been very good. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been terrific. The activities director is the best staff member there. She does so many things besides activities, its unbelievable. She really goes above and beyond. Definitely a good value for the care, we are glad we chose Ashland Farm.

The community is very clean and well kept and well taken care of. They couldn't be nicer! They are courteous, on top of things, and they take care of people. We have been very happy with Greystone Farm. We do wish, however, that they were easier to reach on the phone. If we are able to get through and leave a message, it can be a while before we get a response. This only happens about 50% of the time, however.

The way they have handled the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic, and their overall program and staff are great. It's a very clean community. The staff in general are friendly, helpful, and courteous. They are proactive with their communication as well. They just started offering actives again, and my mother is just now starting to participate again. The Arbors is a good value.

The community was clean. We didn't have any issues in this regard, in fact we were quite pleased. The cleaning staff was very sweet as well. The care giving staff often went above and beyond with the care of my mother. They would do whatever they could for her. They were very good with communicating with us about my mothers care as well. Both the nursing director and the executive directors were great. They would immediately address any of our concerns, including a concern regarding price at the very beginning before my mother moved in. We were so glad we chose this community for her, she seemed at home here. The activities were good, although my mother didn't often participate. They would have someone come once a week and play music and sing with the residents, which my mother loved. When my mother did pass away, they were very accommodating. We would definitely recommend Benchmark at Shrewsbury Crossing.

They do a great job keeping the hallways and common spaces clean, however in the individual apartments, the cleaning could be better. All the staff know everyone's name and because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the community is on lock down, however they still allow us to go outside, which is wonderful. Right now there are limited activities available, but they bring around a cart with things to do. They do a pretty good job here. On the expensive side, Benchmark does a good job with using the money to put back into the residents and their stays.

Mom has been living at RX since January 2016. She now calls it "Home". A first class facility run in an extremely professional and caring manor. From the top down there is a culture of cleanliness, disciplined care, organization and a focus on the resident. The staff is uniformly caring, compassionate & cooperative. The leadership communicates with the residents & their families rigorously and in a manner that instills confidence. Their performance during the COVID crisis was aggressive, disciplined and always on point. All First class!

Our hope was always that our Mom, age 95, would be able to remain living with family for her whole life. After 3 hospitalizations in a 7 week time frame, we could no longer provide the skilled nursing care that she needed on a regular basis. She spent the last three months of her life at Ridge Crest at Meadow Ridge. There is no way to express the incredible gratefulness our family has for Ridge Crest. It was difficult to watch our Mom's health decline. But the care she received there gave us comfort and peace of mind. Every staff member, whether nurses, doctors, aides or wait staff treated our Mom with compassion, patience, dignity and respect. And this was not unique to her as I observed this over and over again as I watched them interact with the other residents there. Over the last ten years my Mom had to go for short stays at three other rehab places--two in Pennsylvania and one other in Connecticut. So we have a frame of reference for comparison. Ridge Crest is so superior in every way. If you aren't able to keep your loved one at home, this is where you want them to be. Thank-you Ridge Crest for everything you did for our Mom.

Regarding Ridgefield Crossings, Ridgefield, CT - Our family wishes to express our deepest gratitude for all the dedication, sacrifices, caring, and answering a call above and beyond duty. We have had assistance from every corner of their staff. From plant services to reception to nursing, aides, activity directors, and many more - and via phone calls, texting, emails, video calling, and, I think, smoke signals! We get responsiveness, ingenuity and much patience. If we singled out one person we would miss a hundred. We could never express all our love and unending thankfulness to all staff at Ridgefield Crossings. Mom has lived on the Traditional Living side for several years. The staff has become like family to both Mom and us. Now, she has been moved to the Memory Care side – and again – she very quickly was welcomed and made to feel at home. We are quite sure that all the appropriate socialization and activities have kept her in a better form than we could have done by ourselves at home. Dementia is progressive. But its tide is definitely stemmed by the daily involvement she has had in Ridgefield. Recently, Mom survived the COVID outbreak, her infection having been caught early due to the staff’s constant vigilance in twice daily taking temps and oxygenation levels. Though no fever and no cough, Mom was sent to the hospital because her oxygenation showed a drop from morning to night. It was the quick reaction of RC combined with Mom’s strong general physical health, that allowed her to be treated early, and recuperation was completed on the isolation side of RC (something RC set up right away). It hasn’t been a picnic for anyone, particularly being kept apart. But we will get through it, and due in large part to the staff of Ridgefield Crossings, we will be lucky enough to enjoy Mom’s company again, and she ours. I give 5 out of 5 stars rating.

The initial engagement with the community was great. Evolve was very supportive in helping my parents in their transition from home to assisted living. They have been very accommodating with my parents specific food preferences. They offer two options at each meal and the food is healthy, tasty, and my parents really enjoy it. The activities have been very interactive and engaging. It was beautiful to see that my mom painted a picture. The staff recognize my parents individual needs and allow them to adjust. The staff spend the time to really get to know the residents personally. All of the staff are very attentive, Whenever we have a concern, they respond immediately by contacting us, truly listening and understanding us, and addressing the concern which gives our family great peace of mind.

My mother has been a resident at Evolve since June of 2018. I could not be happier with the facility. The entire staff is wonderful including the nursing staff, LNA's, activities directors, chefs and dinning staff and the cleaning staff. There is such a feeling of family. The staff works very hard to meet the needs of each and every resident. The facility itself is beautiful and clean. The food is delicious. Mom is always a member of the clean plate Club! My mother thinks she's staying at a luxury hotel! The staff has been great through the quarantine. I receive email updates, texts and pictures of my mom quite often and once a week or so we are able to Face Time with her which has been so wonderful.

It is a very supportive community. The staff are absolutely wonderful and very proactive. The best part of my dad being in the memory care unit is that it is a small group which allows the residents and staff to form bonding relationships. Another main thing is that when my dad is having his moments, the staff call me and put he on the phone so we can talk. The staff are excellent at calming him and redirecting his as well. His transitioning from home to their memory care went really well. My dad actually understands that the staff take great care of him and are there to help him with whatever he needs. He says they feed him really well! I know, without a doubt, that my family made the right decision in choosing Crescent Point for my dad.

My Father moved into Evans Park in October 2019. The staff was very helpful in getting him acclimated to life at EP. My father enjoys the daily exercise class, music presentations, food and the other residents also the "Happy Hour" every Fri, Sat and Sun. This has been a game changer for my father as he is no longer isolated in his house but has made many new friends. We couldn't be happier with our choice of EP.

My family researched in person possible assisted living environments for our mom, that had memory care. Leominster Crossing was the shining star. Such a difficult decision and we cried the day we drove away and it was moms first night at an unknown place. However, now we sleep so soundly knowing she is in a new home with sincere, competent, and compassionate staff. So grateful she is happy and safe! It does feel like a family there, and whomever is doing the hiring is doing great. They all deserve a raise!!

Our mother has been here for over 2 years now after moving from another facility. The workers here are always So positive and engaging with everyone around them. They have gone above and beyond to make our mother’s stay very warm and genuine. They get her up & ready every day. Mom said they are all so good to her so that is amazing. The facility is always immaculate inside and out. We can’t thank you enough for all the extra efforts on Mom’s behalf. THANK YOU!

My brother and I were very impressed from the moment we walked through the door. The lobby was beautiful and were greeted immediately - there was even a personalized welcome sign at the doorway. We sat and talked for a while about my dad's particular needs and found that they could accommodate him. When we took a tour we noticed how clean the place was and what I particularly noticed was how happy the residents were (many of them waved and smiled at us)as we walked down the hallways, peeked into the activity rooms and checked out the dining room. We went and looked a one bedroom apartment that was available and think that it would be perfect for our dad. We wish that he was more mobile and could come see this place for himself because we think he would be just as impressed. It sure beats the traditional nursing home environment that I thought was our only choice.
