Belmont Village

LOOKING FOR MEMORY CARE ONLY! Small wing with cramped halls and dining area. Very nice and spacious outdoor area for residents. Hallways have slightly wider spots where common activities take place, that is still subject to the wanderings of residents. Independent and assisted care side of the door has much nicer appointments and more comfortable feeL. Behind the door is cramped and feels oppressive. Staff and program seem to be reasonable and in the patient's interests.

My loved one has been here for several months and even though it's new and clean, the facility is very overpriced. Hallways always seem to have no activity and the residents are not receiving very responsive care. Watch out for [Removed], the sales lady - before we moved in, the price seemed very fungible (quoted a different price for the same unit/services several times - and it went up again when she knew we'd made a decision - get your quote in writing), move-in terms were altered, and she was very obviously trying to hit incentive targets based on certain dates. We chose the place primarily for its location but are now looking for new options.

We did not pick this community for our personal reasons. After seeing what they have, this was not adequate for my dad's need and level of care.

I think the response time from their pals, their CNA's, is a little slow. The food is good, and it's very clean and nice. The nursing is poor. The facility is good, but the care is not good. Christie, the woman we met with when we were looking and seemed like she would be really involved, and she kind of disappeared. When we bring up concerns, she just kind of acts like it's not her problem. If you are a very independent person it might be a good fit, but if you need care it's not the best option. I feel like we were tricked, bottom line.

Great Place they do not have enough staff to take care of the residents. The staff has no direction, needs better management.

don't like the 'hospital' look of it

This place is not for us. It is VERY expensive and I saw nothing going on that impressed me.

Both my friend and her husband resided there for a little more than a year and I was in charge of finding them a place. He had Alzheimer's and was in the neighborhood, the secured facility. She was in the assisted living. I hated it. It was horrible! I have nothing good to say. It's an absolutely stunning facility. It's relatively new and it's like a hotel. During the time that they were there, there were 3 or 4 different administrators and 3 or 4 different activities facilitators. The individual people that work there are okay but I felt like no one ever talked to anyone else. It's like the left hand didn't know what the right was doing. Between the huge size of the place and the constant turnover, they never got their stuff together. The lack of coordinated care was horrible. I would never ever ever recommend that facility to anyone.

When we first got there it was a lovely place, now not so much. The café is very different, food quality has gone, The menu looks like cafeteria food. Also, they can't seem to keep staff for very long.

The worse my parent gets, the less care they take of her. A few caretakers are stellar but many are not patient. attentive, or kind. She has broken bones here, needed stitches and often has dirty hair, How devastating it will be to have to move her at this time. Start somewhere better!

We explained my mother's needs before we moved in (wheelchair, significant help needed with ADLs) and were promised that she could stay there unless she became bed bound. Turned out not to be true. My mother was there 8 months, and when she began to have difficulties she was kicked out (I say this because she was not allowed to return home after a hospital stay for a relatively minor condition - dehydration. With no notice. She was not even allowed a transition period to move out, so we were left scrambling to find her rehab care, while we worked to find another facility. Worse, no consideration for my mother's feelings, hardhearted to kick someone out of their home I was incredibly disappointed and surprised because my mother generally did well there. The Circle of Friends is an excellent program. Their medication management, though, needs serious work. At one point they let my mom go 4 days without her medicine due to a miscommunication with the pharmacy. At another point I found someone else's meds in my mother's room. They use a paper system, no electronic tracking of meds, though that too was promised when my mother moved in.

The title says it all. There are far better options. Poor care, abusive behavior, expensive, disorganized, residents were ignored, often falling from lack of caregivers, no full time nurse on the floor …. the list goes on and on.

Wasn't thrilled with Belmont Village, they had a couple good workers and some really bad workers. Management wasn't very good at all and I wouldn't recommend it to other families if they have any other choice's. If the families have to place a family member there make sure they are there constantly

BV team was welcoming and engaging throughout the sales and initial move-in processes; however, after the initial introductory period the team was unresponsive, inflexible, and lacked compassion. While the facility offered many good programs the team was not interested in caring for their residents on an individual level. It was a negative experience for our family and we regret that BV had been our choice for my mother.

It is a bait n switch start low and after 90 days increase stating resident requires more care. Found feces left in the floor of the residents bathroom. When brought to the attention of staff it was addressed. The pals are not trained as well when dealing with those with dementia. Many staff members do the very minimum. Space is very limited for activities and dining. More activities available for assisted living than for memory care. Staff make promises that can't be kept. Initially everything is great until you move your family member in. Strongly suggest multiple visits before signing any contract. Some visits need to be unannounced and at various times.

Was guaranteed that my husband would be safe and totally cared for but this didn’t happen After a horrible event where he could have easily been killed he was moved. Situation was not corrected within the community.

Friendly but vastly under delivered. Basically stole money and did nothing to help our loved one.

This place is very good at first impressions and appearances. Also if you have left your family in their care they will send you pictures and all kinds of beautiful messages. But once you’re family member becomes a regular they are treated sub par and no longer special. There are diamonds in the rough like the enrichment leaders who really care but their boss runs memory care and does a poor job. The place is run on favoritism and making the place look as good as possible for first appearances. But when all the families go home your loved ones are loved and cared for but not by the people that make a show when you come, it’s the ones focusing on the residents and truly engaging with them, those are the real ones. And I guarantee you none of them work behind a computer in the safety of their closet offices. Do not bring your loved one here.

I would say Look elsewhere. Your loved one is better somewhere else.

Unfortunately, like many others, we had a similar experience of Belmont Village. The biggest problem is the total lack of organization. The people working there really care about the residents, that is clear, however, the upper administration has changed so many times in recent years that is just became unsafe for residents, as often care plans were conflicting. People just are not able to do their jobs efficiently. The worrisome sight of ambulances there so often taking people away was rightfully scary. We had to move mom into another community and she has thrived every since moving out of BV.
