Belmont Village

We just put my dad there a little while ago. The good things is that my parents lived in Thousand Oaks, so the Belmont Village is only 3 minutes away from their house, and they're already familiar with the town and with the weather so the Belmont Village is comfortable to them. My dad refers to all his neighbors there as his friends.

The facility appeared clean. We toured a studio and a one bedroom apartment, plus the various activity locations where many of the residents were active. We were shown the activity schedule and the restaurant menu. M seemed to like the overall facility. The rooms were more spacious and had better kitchens than at Atria.

This was a very nice community but it was more expensive then the other communities we looked at. The cost was about $7,200 but it was all inclusive, like 3 meals a day. The staff was very caring and friendly.

Everyone here at Belmont Village tries really hard and it seems like they really like what they do. They could do more activities especially physical ones. They have a pool onsite but they only seem to use it once a week. It would be better if they tried to use it at least 3 times a week just to keep the residents a little more active. Overall it is a pretty good place, it is on the expensive side but most of these communities are.

Looked like an appropriate placement. Not sure if food looked tasty. Good programs. Beautiful garden. Far for me to drive. May sign onto waiting list. More expensive than listed.

It's only been a couple of weeks, but my mother seems to be doing well. The only issue I have is that there seems to be a lack of communication between the different levels of staff. Things I talk about with the management don't seem to be communicated to the caregivers. For instance, mom had an appointment with her long term care provider at 10am. I told the staff someone would be coming at 10. At 10:20am I got a call from a caregiver who said there was someone here to see her and is that okay? It wasn't a big deal, but it's that kind of lack of communication that's happening. My mom seems to enjoy the activities. She goes on walks and they've had some bus tours, crafts and group discussions. So far, so good.

The community is a little pricey. They could try and engage the residents a little more. They have a wide variety of activities for the residents but just need to encourage them to participate more. The community is very attractive and it very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The community is very nice and I would recommend it to anyone.

My sister rated 1st in her touring this past week. We are looking for a place for Mom to stay for the rest of her life. We are now looking for a supportive living situation.

I chose this community because of combinations of things, one being the reasonable price. The community is really nice and well kept. The staff is great and really goes above and beyond to accommodate the residents. I had looked at about 6 or 7 community and the one that was comparable was about $1,000 more then Belmont Village. This community was really the best value. The food is really good and it is a restaurant style setting with a large menu. If you want something special you just talk to the staff and they do their best to accommodate.

Looks great, but finally found out that my Dad wants to live in a very specific area. This is too far away.

Visited Fri. 5-24-13 with my husband. Nice, but unsure the price covers all the care mom needs.

The staff is courteous, kind and very friendly and helpful The cuisine is remarkably good, fresh, and wholesome. My mother loves it. It's her second home and far superior.

Very nice. Concerned about the elevator and the size of the community for our needs.

Impressive in terms of special program for memory care. Not sure independent living would work for my mother and not ready for secure facility. No skilled nursing but strong supportive care including hospice and well chairs.

10 year old facility, very good condition. Originly a "skilled" facility meaning they facility was built for different standards. Wide hallways, handrails, emergency call buttons in bathrooms. Liked the kitchenet idea. large studio a good size room, several to choose from. Therapy room with managed programs. plenty of gathering areas. Meals at set times. Can't eat meals in room unless sick. Can have food in room. Not coneected with CDH but they have Dr.'s that routinely visit. Very plesant place, no oder issues.
