Belmont Village

The staff is exceptional here! The food is not so great.. that's still up in the air. I definitely think that they could improve on their communication with the family. They call me when I need to know something, but sometimes just a general check-in call would be nice as well. I know that they recently hired someone to help with that though. We mainly chose them because they have a 24-hr nurse on site. However, that may have been a little over promised, since it can take the nurst 45 minutes to come at night. Overall, we are very happy though. They have a good staff to resident ratio.

My loved one hasn't been here long, but so far they seem to be doing a good job. We haven't run into any particular issues. It's a clean and well kept facility, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Although we had a few issues and things started a little rocky for us here, this is a very nice community overall and we're very pleased with it now that our issues have been cleared up. Shortly after our loved one moved in we has issues with a small amount of money from her room going missing (and they did warn us about keeping valuables in her room simply due to the nature of a memory care community). We also had an issue near the start of her stay where they took over 30 minutes to respond to her call-button. Both of these issues made me worried about the quality of the care here, but they really stepped up and have since proven themselves to be a safe and trustworthy community. They have a group called the Circle of Friends, which specializes in making sure their dementia patients participate in mentally stimulating activities every day.

Overall they do a very good job here, I'd give them high marks on all of the categories. One aspect of their service that I like in particular is the continuity offered for memory care patients; residents can be kept in the same room even as their care needs advance. It is also nice how the staff take initiative to make sure people are leaving their rooms to make it to meals and activities.

Overall I think this is a nice place. It's an attractive place, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. My loved one feels safe here, and from what I've heard she really enjoys the bingo! I've heard a few complaints from her about noise at night, but I don't know if she's hearing the staff or other residents. Other than we haven't had any issues.

The food is an absolute 5+, it is fabulous, they have a great chef and they are always catering to her taste. I eat there whenever I can. They do offer activities but she doesn't participate in them much. They were extremely open in presenting themselves when we first visited. They insisted we have lunch with them, so we knew the food was good right away. The salespeople were lovely and straightforward and easy to deal with. They are extremely thorough and caring. I think they do everything near perfect. They've really got their act together.

It's been very good. They've been very friendly. She needs a lot of support and she is getting it from the staff. The variety of activities and maybe tailoring them to each individual would be nice. The food is very good. The staff and the inside, they are attentive. All in all we have been very happy.

We chose Belmont Village for both my parents so they can be together in their own studio apartment. My family and I were very impressed with the facility, staff, food and programs it offers. We would highly recommend this community resident of choice for those who are in need of assisted living arrangements.

love the bedrooms and menu, dog can visit. Need to ask about smoking. Pricey, if could afford would be my first choice. Large up front money. Facility sells itself, certainly not our tour guide.

Very nice facility, most luxurious of those we saw, but limited outdoor areas. Not clear to me just how often the residents could get over to Lee Park across the street. Had reputation for being most pricey, but their simpler pricing structure could work out for some.

Mom went into Belmont Village just over a month ago and so far they have been great. They keep her mind active (for the dementia) all day long and the nurses and workers have been very friendly and observant of the patients need. The food has been very good with a nice variety and the building has been very festive with the decorations for the holidays. I have talked with several other patients family members who have had their relative in Belmont Village for years and they all seem very happy overall.

My mother moved there only two months ago. It's too early to evaluate. I live in Washington state, so can only base observations on my siblings' comments who live in Houston, Texas. Belmont has compehensive programs for residents with varying degrees of dementia as well as those without. I understand that the caregivers are friendly and attentive, and the food is very good. The layout of the facility is warm and inviting. So far I believe that we made the best choice for our mother after visiting ten othe facilities. But again, my experience is limited due to the short time that our mother has lived there and my distance from Houston. Ask again in six months. I cannot comment on cost because room sizes differ and the care level varies (help with medications, special programs for those with dementia, bathing needs, etc) . I didn't mean to use the "more categories" below, but since I cannot erase, I must rate all excellent.

Visited on November 22. Very much like Belmont Sunnyvale. Very nice. Like Belmont Sunnyvale it has a Circle of Friends program. Caregivers seem dedicated; residents look to be happy. A negative--perhaps a big negative--not much in the way of outdoor space. There are no gardens to speak of. Mother, I think, would miss this sort of thing greatly. They do have availability.

Friendly staff and inviting atmosphere

The overall care is very good. They have good activites. They do outings and crafts, exercise classes and things like that. My parents say the food is good too.

Overall I like the location, the staff I think is wonderful, they're very helpful. The administrator is amazing, Donna, she's very proactive and I just can't say enough good things about her. I think it's the memory care program and the cost of that that could improve. It's an additional 2000 per month and even though it goes on day after day and for hours, personally, I think they need to factor in the people who can't afford it but need it, or at least offer a substitute program that would allow more people to come into it. Belmont was a little more expensive than some of the other places we were looking at but they have a nice sized room and they like it there.

My mother moved in here a few weeks ago. Sadly, it wasn't a good fit for her. It is a lovely facility with very friendly staff. The rooms are bright and airy. The staff is helpful and go out of their way to help. The food is delicious. Unfortunately, we couldn't make this work. My mother has dementia and is very active. She was on their memory care floor which was nice, but is not a locked community. A large part of the day is spent sitting in classes or sitting while doing activities which most residents enjoy. My mother is VERY active and hated all the sitting. She didn't like them telling her she couldn't do what she wanted, so she kept trying to leave. Belmont Village isn't really equiped to handle that, so we had to pay for a one-on-one assistant. That got to be very expensive, and the constant supervision made my mom even more upset. By the time we moved her out, we had spent thousands of dollars to try to make this work. This is a great dementia care community if your loved one is not going to try to leave, and they are pretty calm. It is expensive, so be sure you really think about how they will act once they cannot come and go as they please (if they are on the dementia care floor.) Will they stay with the group? Do they like to sit or are they constantly active? Do you have money to pay for extra care if needed? Consider these things before you move here.

On the surface it looked alright, I don't think you can really judge a place until you've had someone live there, but this looked pretty good. Everything seemed clean. The menus looked good and they showed you the dining rooms and all that business.

The care is where I get into a little bit of a problem; I guess our expectations are higher than what they should be for an assisted living place. For example, my mother in law scalded herself opening up something from the microwave so they called my wife to pick up something from the drug store; do they not have first aid there? There are a couple of different acitivites, I think my mother in law is having difficulties because she has to worry about her husband who has dementia and what he might do or say. I don't think they have any control over this, but they used to have exits other than the front door where they could go out and sit on the patio. I guess Georgia came in and did an inspection and told them they needed to lock those doors so now the only exit is the front door and they're in the very back; so now they feel like they're in a prison.
