Belmont Village

We toured it. Someone told me that I have to think about whether my father-in-law would be more comfortable being a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond and that really helped me make my decision because my in-laws are very private people. The Belmont was a bit too uppity and too stuffy. Their brain training to try and stop the progression of the disease (dementia) is incredible and maybe it would help with someone younger but it was not going to work for my father-in-law's situation.

Liked the grand piano at the entrance. Mom may do ok with Circle of Friends, but language barrier will be a problem. I like the hourly wellness check. One of the 'pals' speaks Italian. The Secured Neighborhood was depressing. Odor in room we visited.

One of the reasons why my sister and I chose Belmont was the fact that the memory care was in levels, one being high functioning, 2, 3, and four being in the "neighborhood". When we were doign our tours they were telling us that there was always going to be a nurse on the floor and that was enticing, but we've had episodes of mom wandering and my question to them is why don't you have more personnel to catch them? We were under the impression that there were more people around that would prevent the wandering but we were told me may need to get another person in to care for her on top of it. It is a wonderful facility, they have wonderful programs I've been pleased with that, they keep them stimulated but they do chose to medicate a little bit more. I think it has a great concept but if I were in charge I would like to see more pals especially if they're going to promote the circle of friends.

It's a couple grand more a month but you end up with organic food which is appealing. They have happy hour every afternoon. There's a point where you're not getting much more for your money but luxury, chandeliers and things. The price is variable but the rooms are not all the same so you could pay less but you'd be in a tiny, dinky little room.

We're very pleased with Belmont Village. They're good with cleanliness. It's very extensive, the care that they provide, but it's also very expensive. What I really like about it is that alzheimer's and dementia are really difficult and they handle it really well. When there is a problem they're very receptive. They're open to having meetings and discussing the problem to figure it out.

Belmont Village is a pretty good community. They have been doing a good job with the residents. We have no complaints about them. So far we have been pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

We ended up picking Belmont Village because they were offering us a better value. We were able to take advantage of their long term deal. It was a really good value when it came to the price versus the services they were offering, when compared to other communities it was just the best offer at the right time.

Liked the facility, felt more spacious than others, lovely dining space

I have no complaints at all about the Belmont Village. The people there have been friendly and gracious, and I'm really happy with the services that my father's received there.

The facility appeared clean. We toured a studio and a one bedroom apartment, plus the various activity locations where many of the residents were active. We were shown the activity schedule and the restaurant menu. M seemed to like the overall facility. The rooms were more spacious and had better kitchens than at Atria.

This was a very nice community but it was more expensive then the other communities we looked at. The cost was about $7,200 but it was all inclusive, like 3 meals a day. The staff was very caring and friendly.

Looked like an appropriate placement. Not sure if food looked tasty. Good programs. Beautiful garden. Far for me to drive. May sign onto waiting list. More expensive than listed.

It's only been a couple of weeks, but my mother seems to be doing well. The only issue I have is that there seems to be a lack of communication between the different levels of staff. Things I talk about with the management don't seem to be communicated to the caregivers. For instance, mom had an appointment with her long term care provider at 10am. I told the staff someone would be coming at 10. At 10:20am I got a call from a caregiver who said there was someone here to see her and is that okay? It wasn't a big deal, but it's that kind of lack of communication that's happening. My mom seems to enjoy the activities. She goes on walks and they've had some bus tours, crafts and group discussions. So far, so good.

The community is a little pricey. They could try and engage the residents a little more. They have a wide variety of activities for the residents but just need to encourage them to participate more. The community is very attractive and it very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The community is very nice and I would recommend it to anyone.

My sister rated 1st in her touring this past week. We are looking for a place for Mom to stay for the rest of her life. We are now looking for a supportive living situation.

I chose this community because of combinations of things, one being the reasonable price. The community is really nice and well kept. The staff is great and really goes above and beyond to accommodate the residents. I had looked at about 6 or 7 community and the one that was comparable was about $1,000 more then Belmont Village. This community was really the best value. The food is really good and it is a restaurant style setting with a large menu. If you want something special you just talk to the staff and they do their best to accommodate.

Looks great, but finally found out that my Dad wants to live in a very specific area. This is too far away.

Visited Fri. 5-24-13 with my husband. Nice, but unsure the price covers all the care mom needs.

The staff is courteous, kind and very friendly and helpful The cuisine is remarkably good, fresh, and wholesome. My mother loves it. It's her second home and far superior.
