Avista Senior Living

We are very happy with Avista. What stood out the most is the staff are caring for the residents.

They're all very friendly and will contact the VA on my Dad's behalf on meds and other things......they try really hard to get everyone out of their rooms and participate in daily events. Very easy to work with!

My mom is being checked on more frequently to make sure she is going down for dinner. She knows she will need to pay $[removed] a month if she wants it brought to her room. She says the food has been terrible. She had a chicken salad sandwich which was loaded with mostly celery. The bread was not toasted. She had a chicken sandwich. A chicken breast was put between two slices of bread that had nothing else on the sandwich and the bread was not toasted . She had a cheese sandwich. The cheese was not melted and the bread was not toasted. I think it was supposed to be a grilled cheese sandwich. Do they toast the bread? The spinach was mushy and the banana was very ripe. The caregivers are very caring and the activities are wonderful. The gentleman who cleans her room does a great job. White Cliffs is a very nice place. My mom worked hard all her life to save money and she is sad she has to use her money in this way. I am so thankful she is in a safe clean, friendly and safe place. My mom will skip meals if somebody doesn't regularly check on her. She has said many times the quality of the food is not good. When my mom, husband and I first visited White Cliffs we enjoyed a good meal. I told my mom if she doesn't like parts of the meal or needs something to ask the server. She says she has. The server says okay and doesn't come back. If the server doesn't come back she won't say anything because she doesn't want to make anyone upset. My mom said they are going to build a memory garden. Residents need a place where they can sit outside and not just in the entryway of the building. An outdoor covered area would be so nice for the residents. The Bistro is a great meeting place. Sometimes I can smell the cookies baking and my mom says it smells like home. The young man that cleans the rooms does an amazing job. He is very caring. The building is clean, pleasant and does not have a bad odor. [name removed] does a great job maintaining the building. He has been very helpful to my mom. The staff at the desk are absolutely wonderful. I feel welcome when I come into the building or call. I can see the caregivers are kind to all the residents. The transportation for the residents is greatly appreciated.

We had a good tour at Heron Place. The gal that talked to us and took us around was very friendly and helpful. There wasn’t anything that stood out to me as a reason not go with this facility.

We chose Heron Place because of where the room was and because it was fairly close to my father who is still at home. It is also nice and clean and staff are friendly. I do love that they will take my mom to her medical appointments so that has been helpful for us. They are really good about answering texts and emails if we have any questions or concerns, so communication has been great. They have had a big turnover in the nursing staff, 3 nurses within 6 months so that has been a negative, but others than that we have been quite happy with them and would recommend.

The community is very clean and neat. I would like more communication from the community but the staff is very nice and friendly. The care is good but I would like them to be sterner and make my loved ones and make him stay groomed.

Our experience with the facility started out really great before covid hit. Once it hit, they had a huge outbreak and she has been sick. One thing they did do very well on is communication during these times, they always keep us informed on how many people have it. They also did a very good job of assessing the amount of care she needed. A good point about the food is they are working with her on her gluten free diet, she is very picky but has not complained about the food. They also let her bring all of her craft things into the facility and was able to teach some craft classes. It is a smaller community and she gets a lot of personal attention. I would recommend to others looking, she is really happy here.

We chose Syringa Place because it was very clean, the location, and my mom's home health nurse was the director so we had a friendly face. The room sizes here are adequate they do also have a variety of choices to choose from. I would want others to know that there is a lot of walking involved to get from place to place inside the facility. The staff here is perfectly willing to wheel individuals around in their wheelchairs and will take them where they need to go. I would recommend to others looking.

I think it is a good place, a really good place. The number of people that were taking care of my loved one was impressive. They had one person helping him shower, they had one doing housekeeping, and they had another taking his vitals. This was impressive to me. It makes families feel like the residents are being taken care of. My loved one got plenty to eat. The security was great.

This is a very friendly and welcoming community. The apartments are lovely and the whole building is very pleasant and clean, in a nice location next to the river walk. The staff is very helpful and kind. The food is good, even though residents sometimes have to wait a long time to be served. My mom seems pretty happy and content here, even though it's only been two weeks. Sometimes the care staff seems pretty stretched, but they are very responsive to concerns and needs. It is very affordable, compared to other comparable facilities.

The Abbington Senior Living in Heber is the most wonderful senior living communities. The minute you walk through the doors you know you are home. The love you feel from the residents and staff lets you know you have made the right choice for your loved one. They have great activities, good food and amazing care. I would highly recommend this community to everyone. If you have not taken a tour you should, you will not be disappointed.

The food is not terrible. A new cook is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some problems with billing and they were quickly resolved

For Whatcom Country, I felt that this was the place most feeling like home for my grandmother's high care needs. She was made to feel like part of the family and felt special.

Thank you for all you do for my Dad, ! I live out of country, but spent a couple of days at Windriver in August. EVERY staff member knew my Dad's name! They new what he liked to drink at all his meals, they brought him his favourite juice or a fresh coffee. The care home is Clean, smells good and really comfortable place to live and nice for family to come for a visit. Staff was very welcoming-always. Staff always caring and patient with him. Going home was less painful for me ,because I know he is in a beautiful place to live and enjoy and, I have peace of mind that he is receiving TLC in his last years.

Our family was so excited to find Summit Senior Living for our parents. They had lived in two other senior living communities but now they needed advanced care. From the moment we moved Mom and Dad into Summit, we felt assured that they would receive the advanced care they needed. Summit always involved us in their care plans. We were notified if there were any issues that needed our attention, any time day or night. This brought us, their family, a lot of peace. From the first day to the last, Mom and Dad loved it there. Everyone on staff, no matter what service they provided for them, cared for our parents compassionately, patiently and with love and respect. We will always love and be grateful to those at Summit who cared for our parents.

First of all I would like to say that this place is just what Mom needed. Mom wasn't doing as well as she could have been living at home by herself. She has neuropathy which can make it unbearable to walk and she also suffers from congestive heart failure. When Mom decided it was time for assistance, we took a tour and SHE decided this was the place to be. We purchased a mobility wheelchair so that she could go anywhere she wanted to and now she has the freedom to even enjoy evenings on the patio! Another factor in choosing Powell Place is that Mom was able to bring her two furry companions with her. I cannot say enough about the caring, attentive staff here. Everyone is so friendly and compassionate. Mom has been here 14 months as of today and she is thriving in this community.

I have been very happy with Jasmine Place so far. The staff is just amazing, and they have been so helpful to us. The food always looks really good, and every time I've gone, they seem to have a good attendance in the activities. The activity director is just a bubble full of energy, and she's very encouraging to the residents. One of the main reason we chose Jasmine Place is because it is still small, and I feel the residents receive better attention in a small community rather than a larger one. I hope that Jasmine continues to do the amazing job they've been doing.

While first viewing the property, I noticed that it was very nice, clean, homey, and it had a very good feeling to it. This is why I chose it. They seem to have a whole list of things to do at the facility which it posted in the lobby to keep everyone updated on what is going on certain days. They do provide transportation as well to go to outings and doctor’s appointments. The food there is fine in my opinion. The have a menu that changes daily and if you don’t like what it being served on a certain day there is a set menu to order from to replace it. The staff team for the most part is good, except for a few minor hiccups. The day that I was supposed to check in with my loved one it seemed that no one was aware that we were coming. It was a bit disorganized but eventually was taken care of. Despite this, I would recommend this location to others.

The staff are very friendly, accommodating and attentive. The food is good and they offer healthy choices. They offer daily activities. We are very pleased with this smaller community and I would recommend it.
