Avalon Memory Care

We toured Avalon Memory Care Fort Worth when searching for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. Our tour guide was pleasant to talk with and very helpful. The facility was nice. The friendliness and cleanliness were good.

We toured Avalon Memory Care Keller when searching for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was good, we had a good tour. Our tour guide was very helpful and pleasant to talk with.

It's a nice facility. The salesperson we worked with is great. The staff sometimes seems distant and not as friendly as I hope for. Still glad we picked this place, It's just not perfect. I would recommend to others.

I toured Avalon Memory Care and it was like a family environment. The techs there did everything just like family would do. They took care of the residents, they cooked, did laundry. They did everything needed and someone had eyes on everybody all the time. There was a really large living area, kitchen and dining area. I did not like the fact that they combined the residents laundry when they washed their clothes. The other concern I had was there were only three working at a time. I'm not sure what they would have done if the three of them got sick at once.

We chose Avalon Memory Care because of the resident to staff ratio that they have. This particular facility atmosphere is very different than some of the other places. For those who need the more intense care, this would be a good place. I would recommend this facility to others looking for memory care and already have.

I've looked at a dozen other community's and I felt like Avalon Memory Care was the choice best. The manager was very intuitive and communicates very well.

I toured Avalon Memory care and it was a good experience. We chose another community because of its location and costs; also everything is included there, which was a very big plus.

I had a virtual tour at Avalon Memory care, and they really impressed me. It was just was a little further out of our location range for ease of visiting our loved one.

This is a nice and clean community. I would recommend you stay active and be the advocate for your loved one's care, as the community doesn't provide or have an advocate for your loved one. The staff are great and quick to communicate with the family with answers to our questions or concerns. Transfers, medication management, hygiene, and bathing assistance are all types of care the community is able to provide my loved one. There are not really any activities for the memory care residents, and it is not on a consistent basis when offered. My loved one is bored since the activities are not consistent. There is a home cooked meal provided to the residents three times a day. My loved one seems to be happy with the food. Care, the apartment, utilities, laundry, housekeeping, and changing of linens are included in the monthly rate.

Overall it has been excellent care they have been able to provide my loved one. There is a downfall in the lack of activities that are engaging for the residents. Bathing, dressing, medication management, hygiene, and assisting with feeding is some care the community is able to provide for my loved ones. The staff are very responsive to questions or concerns that I may have and this includes on the weekend from management. The food is good tasting. Day in the history sheet, guest speakers, and watching tv are some of the activities available.

Nothing wrong with the place. It served the purpose.

I would recommend this community for your loved one. They are having staffing issues at this time but I feel it is due to covid and what everyone else is going through now everywhere. The staff that are at the community are wonderful. They have activities like crafts, people that come in and play music, work outs like kicking a ball back and forth and more for the residents to do to stay busy. The residents are kind of limited on what all they can and cannot do.

It has been good overall. There have been some staffing issues, but when it was brought to their attention, they took care of it. The caregivers are just caregivers - they're not not nurses or medically trained. Overall they seem to be pretty good with cleanliness.

The staff members were very nice and friendly. They always knew where our loved one was at all times, they constantly watched over him to make sure he did not fall or hurt himself. They did an excellent job regarding that. However, our loved ones belongings at times went missing, so the attentiveness could be a little improved. The meals and dining service could of been more of a variety.

We have had some issues but are slowly working them out. The medication schedule is adequate. They do lack sometimes on diaper changes. I think that additional training is possibly needed for transfers of residents.

I liked the memory care unit okay here. This is a nice community and it is well staffed but my loved one felt that it was not the right place.

Good community for your loved one. The management may need to be checked on every now and then. They have activities like kareoke, cards, dominoes, and entertainment brought in to sing and also bowling.

The tour at Avalon Memory Care - Garland was great. The marketing director and staff were all good people. They had a good way of showing you their community. Of course you hear all the good stuff when you tour, and you don’t get to hear the challenges until your loved one lives there. But we liked what we saw on the tour.

My loved one's room was clean, as well as the common areas. My loved one seemed to receive good care from the community and the staff. This is a home like setting. The staff are kind, warm, and friendly. The community was open to feedback and working with the family to correct any concerns.
