I would give them a negative 5 if that was possible. It is so dirty - the floors in memory care were always dirty and sticky. The staff start out as a "5" to suck you in with all kinds of untruths. Then when you really need them, they ghost you. There is no value for the money whatsoever. They pay no attention to your loved one. Don't believe anything they tell you. This is a horrible assisted living. Under no circumstances can you trust them with your loved one!!!!

I believe this community is not worth the price. Ever since management has changed, the quality of service has went with them. The only that’s keeping my family member is the front staff. The day time care staff, cleaners and entertainment. Maintenance takes days to complete a simple task now, sales director is very incompetent. Be prepared to be on your four hours ged a bunch of lies. You will get bread at the end though. If only the effort put into the bread was put into our families meals. It’s ridiculous how they are always out of food and drinks.

More bad things have happened in this place than I care to list! Most aides are rude lazy and disrespectful and treat the residents like crap! If your able to care for yourself you can try and get by but if something happens to you and you need more care forget it! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Forget about complaining it falls on deaf ears and excuses are made for everything bad that happens!

We moved my dad into the Memory Care facility at the end of [month/year removed]. When we signed the contract, we were told there was a "Memory Care Director", whom I met, and daily activities for the residents. Within the first week, the director of this unit left and never once were there activities scheduled for the memory care. My dad, an alzheimer's patient, gets aggressive if someone tries to force him to do something. After 4 weeks and twice hitting a staff person, we were required to have him on 24-hour individual care at a price of $20/hr in addition to the monthly rate. This went on for a few weeks before they told us we had to move him out. It was a very expensive lesson to learn that this place is only willing to handle docile memory care patients. We have him somewhere else now that is awesome.

Very careless staff. Lack of empathy towards families with concern and frustration over the poor care of their loved ones. Misplace things often. The director is extremely hard to speak to about anything of importance. I wish my grandma had better care and less rapid declining due to not being properly taken care of during her stay.

On more than one ocassion staff stole money from my aunt and there toilet paper or what else they could take.the lady at the front desk s very abrupt with the patients. Sit there and listen,atria should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this.when ever you complain. All you hear is we never have had that problem.the elderly might be old but they are not stupid.

We thought we found a good place for mom.! They Talk a good game before handing over your money ! They charged us a month as a " get acquainted fee ". THE AIDES IN THE BASEMENT DEMENTIA UNIT DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO GUESTS FIGHTING , AND A MAN URINATING IN THE DINING ROOM., THEY WERE TOO BUSY TALKING . NOT ENOUGH STAFF NOT ENOUGH QUALITY STAFF. HORRIBLE FOOD IN DEMENTIA UNIT ! PULLED MOM.OUT IN 3 WEEKS . HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! FEES WERE OUTRAGEOUS FOR SERVICE PROVIDED. GOOD SALESPEOPLE , VERY POLISHED !

They left my mom in bed for most of the day with no bath, no food, and no help. WORST PLACE EVER... could not get her out fast enough. They made it very hard to visit, using Covid as an excuse. They expected us to take a frail old woman outdoors to a plastic pod in 40 degree weather. They lost her hearing aids too.

They left my mother-in-law in bed until after lunch some days. They lost her hearing aids. They are very short-staffed with few activities. They made us jump through hoops to visit her. We had to move her after two months. If you love your parent, you can do much better than this for them!

*Terrible food in Memory Care residency. NOT the same menu which we experienced while touring the facitly before moving our mother here. *Memory Care Doctor did not recommend hospice in a timely manner according to Hospice administrator, resulting in suffering for my mother *Doctor did not monitor my mother's condition, nor did he examine her.. In the sitting room of the facility he said she "looked good" and called that an examination *After an evening visit to the emergency room, an upon returning to Atria Crossroads, nobody answered the door or answered the phone. The ambulance driver was forced to return my mother to the hospital that night since they could not contact Atria to let her inside. *The individualized "Senior type" music that was promised to be piped into the residents' rooms in Memory Care never materialized *Broken recliner in sitting room of Memory Care

My dad had dementia and we were paying for the highest level of care with around the clock nurses. Every time we visited my Dad, he was in a soiled diaper. I asked to look at the call logs. He actually only called when wet or thirsty. The nurses are supposed to answer within five minutes, yet when they finally let me see the call log, there were times where it took over a half hour to get to him. I asked the nurses why it takes so long to help him, especially since we paid upward of [amount removed] a month, and one nurse cried to me that they don’t hire enough nurses to save money and they are always short staffed! One night we get a call that my dad slipped in the shower. They claim that he undressed and went into the shower himself! Complete lie as there was physically no way he could have. He was lying naked and alone in the shower with broken ribs. After rehab the Atria tells us he can’t come back because he requires too much care but they charge us for the rest of the month, over [amount removed].

Please do not send your loved one there if they need memory care The management from sales to memory care are all high schools friends. They cover for one another My mother lost over 70 lbs and was not being fed. Told us we needed private aid and recommended Am an agency. Turns out the agency Is the memory care Directors mother !! Screwed My Mother out of 800 dollars Aids would not show up and I was told be employees that no aid showed up. Mom was left in bed most of the time and never fed breakfast. Their excuse was your mom likes to sleep late My sister went to see my mom when they allowed visiting in their rooms. At 11 am my mother was covered with feces and still wearing her clothing from the day before. She was also hospitalized many times. Please don’t send you loved one there

Atria Lafayette Hill is terrible. They want to fill the building, so will tell you anything and everything you want to hear during the sales process and not deliver on any of those representations. The care and treatment of the residents is sub-standard. They are not responsive when a resident presses his/her pendant. They cannot retain staff. Much of the staff is untrained and incompetent and/or unkind There have been times when they don't have staff in the dining room, so meals are delayed. Bottom line - steer clear. It looks nice and they are trained in their sales pitch, but it's all smoke and mirrors.

When they came to assess our loved one they said our loved one could stay at the community until the end of time no matter the amount of care needed, however that was not the case. We felt completely mislead and taken advantage of.

We had a terrible experience at Atria in Carrollton. From overcharging to lack of medical personnel, to the attitude of the ladies in charge, this facility is terrible. We were charged for care we did not receive for almost a year during the Covid pandemic. There are no RN’s employed at this facility, just one LPN who works days M-F. They employ “Med Techs” who dispense medications to the residents for which you pay a charge for every pill, not the cost of the pill but a fee to dispense it. Every pill. They also charge for laundry service and most rooms have a view of the parking lot. I wrote a detailed letter to Altria’s “corporate” offices in Kentucky and have never received a response. They don’t care about their residents. If you love your family member, don’t place them at Atria.

My mother moved to this community in August. It has been one disappointment and broken promise after another. They keep losing staff. The food is not edible. Now these elderly people with walkers and wheelchairs are supposed to go to a buffet because there is not enough wait staff. There are no drivers to take her to any of her appointments as promised up front. They serve dinner on paper plates with plastic forks because they can't hire dishwashers. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who needs more than an apartment to live in.

They could not take us through the facility due to covid. We were only able to see one unit and it was not the one that my loved one was looking into getting. The pet deposit here is extremely high as well as the rent. It was not the best experience.

Atria of Glen Cove appears to be lovely when you visit but that is it! The inconsistency in communication was a HARD NO for us. We met with the Director [name removed] and discuss what we were looking for. We were told a wonderful story. When we met with [name removed], nothing we discussed occurred during our love ones visit. We reached out and again made an attempt to work with Atria of Glen Cove. The same thing occurred. We were told many wonderful things and then receive a notice that they could not honor what they had stated. I felt like I was dealing with a used car dealer. I felt like it was the old bait and switch. This type of setting in not a place for your love one! You want to make sure they are safe and well taken care of!!!

If you are considering Horizons Memory Care at Arbor Landing Hampstead, NC for your loved one PLEASE READ. Horizons kicked my mom out, who was under hospice care, because she could not stand, pivot, or assist with a transfer. She was in such bad shape the only place that would take her was a nursing home 1 hour away from the closest relative. She died 16 days later. We were told numerous times this is an “age in place facility and she could stay there until the end of life.” This was a lie. Horizons is a one person assist facility with no equipment to move people who forget how to walk or are in such bad shape they can’t. Their on-call nurse can come in anytime and deem “their care level has changed” and kick them out. They are also protected by NC laws. Many memory care facilities have two person assist and have the equipment and desire to help Alzheimer’s residents all the way through to the end. Moving mom was hard on her and contributed to her quick decline and death. Shameful.

The facility is clean and updated but there is a big difference that never shows up in any brochures between assisted care and the memory care. The bottom line is when we put my wife into Atria, the first 24 hours she fell 3 times. I was told that they do not have the staffing to give her enough care and if I wanted that I would have to pay for the caregiver myself on top of what we were paying for her to be there. They should have never taken her if she was not going to be able to receive the care that she needed. I think there needs to be more information provided up front, we would have never put her in here if we knew then what we we know now. There were also logistical issues with the medications that costed me money.
