Disappointed! [name removed] didn’t care at all!! She had no desire to show us the facility or talk about the facility. She did not offer us any paperwork, show us around, talk about the facility or amenities. Definitely would NOT recommend this place - if she doesn’t care; then I don’t see the rest of the staff caring.

Our experience at Sierra Pointe was just awful. As a son of a former resident, as well as a Geriatrician who has long advocated for older persons, I find the practices of Sierra Pointe/Atria to be quite alarming. Caregivers are severely understaffed and cant provide the quality care residents need. Residents may wait 30+ min when requesting help going to the toilet. So undignified! I'll never forget when my Mom was left on the floor without help for 30 minutes after a fall. My sense is that the problems with Sierra Pointe run deep within the Atria culture. I found myself dismayed after multiple conversations with the corporate office, believe they were less than honest with me, and were all about the $$ and cared little about their residents. Sierra Pointe looks nice from the outside but its not a good place. Many residents + staff have left. I strongly advise those who want to protect their loved ones to look elsewhere.

Atria is a beautiful place, nice rooms and very clean and we do know covid had a big impact, but we felt that they did the whole bait and switch thing. They said it was cheap, great value and there maybe be small extra fees depending on the levels of care but that was not the case. Our loved one had a significant fall and needed to go to the hospital. While they were there we were getting nursing bills, and cable bills even though they were not at the facility.

They aren't caring. They aren't compassionate. This is strictly business, no actual regards for the residents. Check Google reviews. They had a review removed for posting injuries on a former resident. These people who work here disgust me. I hope they can get it together soon.

We put our loved one there for a month, we paid for a specific care package because they are ale cart. This specific care package was the second or highest packaged, they would take care of her and see her three times a day. This never transpired. The reason why we picked this place was because i would stay the night when i came in for out of town over the weekend. She did not get the care we asked and paid for. They cut corners wherever they could, there would be one nurse at night looking after residents on three different floors. We cannot blame the nurses there are emergency's all the time, but our loved one would have to wait hours for to get help.

Our loved one lived there and the experience for her was just awful. The individual who ran the memory care unit that interviewed her said our loved one needed to be there when she actually didn't. However this community was kept very clean. The overall layout of this community is very nice. There are two floors for the memory care, but only two aids there to watch over the residents. We felt that was just not enough and they needed to bring on more aids. The activities from our understanding were okay, our loved one just did not always participate in them. The rooms on the memory care side were more like a studio apartment. There was no kitchen facility in it, but it did have a full bathroom. According to our loved one she was not a big fan of the food.

I am writing this review for the people who are trying to make the right decision with respect to their loved one. Atria Grapevine is not what they portray themselves to be. I want to first start with my overall experience with respect to the facility. This is based on my actual experiences for the 5 months that my mother lived in the facility. • They are chronically understaffed, and this leads to a level of service that was not anywhere near what they portrayed when they we first visited the facility. They didn’t have enough staff to: o promptly serve the residents their meals. o check on my mother as often as they said they would per the care level we paid o communicate patient care effectively and promptly. This lead to medication not being stopped, not being changed, etc. • The food steadily deteriorated over the time we were there. When we moved in it was good, the menu was varied. By the time we moved out it was not as good as your average high school cafeteria • Maintenance and cleaning were almost non-existent. We had to make repeated requests for the lock on her door to be fixed, her toilette to stop leaking/running and to fix her a/c. The a/c unit for the apartment was woefully small for the square footage of the actual apartment • Even though you pay for cleaning, they are not very diligent and thorough when it comes to cleaning the apartment. I even swept some items into a corner to see how long it would take them to clean them up. They never did and I had to point it out to them Now we need to get into the financial aspects of the operation. My mother executed a lease in April 2019 and moved into the facility in mid-May. In the lease there is a clause that points out that if you are not physically living in the facility, you must pay your rent to keep your apartment but you are not going to be expected to pay for care, meds, etc. We noticed what we believed to be some billing issues and requested a meeting with the facility director in June. We discussed that per the lease we should not have been billed for the care and meds. [Name removed] agreed that we should not have been charged and would get them credited back to us. We asked for a second meeting in July to discuss the issue from June as well as some other issues. This time the Medical Director was also included. We informed [name removed] that we were still looking for our refund for April and May. She was going to investigate it. More importantly we discussed that they had a new staffer who is charged with assisting the residents overnight. My mother complained that this new person was “mean” and when we asked what she meant she told me that “this lady asks me if I am just stupid. And that I need to help her “We were told that they had an idea of who this person was and that it would be addressed. Instead of terminating this person they simply transferred them to another job. After that fact we discovered that there had been multiple complaints about this staffer We finally did get this credit to our account sometime in late July. There was change in Directors in October while my mother left the facility for a medical procedure. She was in the hospital and a rehab for the next three months. During that time was continued to be charged for the charges in excess of the monthly rent. We have repeatedly requested a refund of this balance with no response. To top it off, even though we were told that they could not accept my Mother back due to their assessment they did debit her account for the January payment. On an aside, my Mother was able to get into another facility at a reduced level of care. It does not appear that we are going to receive the requested refund amiably so “buyer beware” when it comes to Atria Grapevine

This place has really gone downhill over the last year. The old management team was great, the new team has come in and the morale is extremely low from staff to residents. They increase the rent every year by 10% or more. The Executive Director is clueless when it comes to managing the community.

My mom lived at Atria for only a couple of months before we had a problem. She fell and broke her hip in the early morning and no one from our family was notified about her being rushed to the hospital. It wasn't until the orthopedic surgeon called the following day about her surgery that we were even aware of this. It took several (!) days for the executive director to respond - he stated that the nightperson "called the numbers on file but didn't leave a message". The long delay along with this excuse caused me to move my mom immediately out of Atria. I'm not sure if there are problems with the staffing at night/early morning, or if there are other issues, but I could no longer feel my mom was being taken care of at Atria when something like this occurred. To make it worse, the executive director has been very difficult and unpleasant to work with. I will have to take them to small claims court to get the appropriate reimbursement due based upon their contact. Beware.

Worst experience since Atria purchased them. Promises, Promises, Promises! Find yourself a privately held community, some new ones and I would consider looking at those as well. The only advantage to Atria is it's location. If you are mobile, you can walk to Safeway, CVS and AJ's shopping centers.

I had a face-time video tour scheduled with them for [date removed]. The appointment time came and went and no call. No calls at all. Pretty disappointing. They have lost my trust. No, I will not reconsider because if this is how they treat a prospective resident, do they also ignore them once they live there? I'm not willing to find out.

I have concluded after one full year, that this state facility has its values, priorities, on big pharma revenue. Narcotics on the fourth floor are distributed like candy. Staff are trained to give minimal personal responsive care, and instead, serve the collective...staff. Diet is not conducive to nutrition, but, instead, to an impression of menu appearance, for appearance sake. Residents come from impressive career backgrounds, yet, no one seems to incorporate their high level of intelligence in activities. The activities are very undignified and way too elementary...not engaging for these residents. Nor, dignified. Staff wouldn't have knowledge of the simplest things. Such as how to quickly stop a nose bleed. No cotton balls, or ice? That's strange. Those have worked for us, for generations. Carbs and sugar ought to be taken into account in planning meals. I do like the 'low salt' in prepared meals. Fruit is poor quality and very scarce on the forth floor. We were assured kitchen was accessable with fresh fruit and fresh water. Its proven, not. The decor is lovely. The outdoor sitting areas, too. Rooms are nice. Dining floor is often dirty and sticky. Tables, placemats, are often, sticky. Meal times are always lax in service. Residents sit patiently waiting for accompliments to dishes, condiments, glasses...for instance. Staff is too self obsorbed during meals. Salads are not offered. The policy seems to be run on, "unless a resident asks, dont offer."
