Older Atria, with all levels of care. Most Assist Living are studios and Memory care most are shared. Have all on-site services. Common areas seem more institusional, like a school. Cabinets are older, formica countertops, hard surface flooring. Memory care was friendly and caring, the best part of the residence. Also offering discounts.

Mom didn't care for this place. she felt uncomfortable.

ok but compared to Vivante, it doesn't and is expensive

In the middle of nowhere. Nice facility, though intimidating large. Shuttle or taxi from N. Quincy. Will not take my father.

This a community that my Mom stayed at, and I was not impressed with the care they provided. They seemed understaffed and overworked, it was a large facility and the ratio of aides to residents was not high. They only had one nurse on staff, and that was only for a portion of the day. It was a nice looking place, and everyone was friendly enough, though. They also had a very good selection of activities, it was always very busy.

I feel they over-promised and under-delivered. Responsiveness to individual circumstances could be improved, it's a large place but they projected that they would be very responsive. She has limited mobility and needs help and the aides are shared with other people and sometimes someone comes right away, sometimes it takes a while, and sometimes no one comes for her at all. I can't fault them in terms of their intentions, they try, but as people come to age in place they come in reasonably independent there comes a point where they will need more assistance. They have a nice range of options for activities. try to make sure there is something every day for entertainment, mental stimulation, and physical stimulation, so there is a nice range.

It was a highrise and I loved it!!

They only had two elevators and the smallest elevators I've seen, and when I visited there was one broken and so there was only one. Some residents were more than happy to use the stairs so I guess it could be a positive at least they are getting their exercise.

beautifully maintained, but lacks personal touch of staff to residents. During tour I felt as if I was buying a car, rather than finding a home atmosphere for a loved one.

Did not care for the layout of the facility. Too much like a hotel. Narrow hallways. Not emough living room type areas throughout.Although the facility was clean and well maintained. They were really pushing memory care instead of the overall facility. Did not care for the location.

Fantastic, beautiful grounds, had 1 bedroom with den, liked one meal with credit if needed. No residents spoke to her, too expensive.

Very nice, extremely clean, nice staff. Grounds were small, no parking and way too expensive.

We ended up picking Atria because we thought the facility looked the best and cleanest and all and seemed affordable. We also we had talked to them about running out of money and Medicaid and they assured us that they don't throw anybody out and they wold find a way to make it work. We were really optimistic about moving mom in there. Now she's been there a few months and it's been a very difficult adjustment. We were surprised because mom is pretty sociable and she was open to the idea of moving because she wanted to be around more people. She's still ad very poorly. They have a lot of act but unless you're a self starter it's not going to work. There is nobody that's helping her get integrated. There are aids and things that are helpful but there is no one that takes you under their wing and orients you. There was a mouse in her room and ants. We alerted the executive director and it was promptly addressed. Our biggest concern is that her medications are changing and nobody told us. They're supposed to call us but the way we're finding out about is on the bill when there are medications we don't recognize. Recently there were two new pills on including one for diabetes and she doesn't have diabetes. We finally reached someone there and she said the doctor assessed her with diabetes last month. No one contacts us! That's a pretty significant change in her health record that we need to know about. The place is beautiful and they've got a lot of things going on but the level of the individual patient care doesn't seem to be what we expected.

Atria was fine except when my mother needed more assistance we were told that she had to leave. It was rather abrupt and not very caring. I would say the end of our experience with them was not as caring as when they were trying to get her in.

Atria Willow Glen is basically a good place for an elderly person with dementia. They have group activities every day. Some are for mental stimulation, and some for physical conditioning. They have a very pleasant, large, enclosed back yard with great shade trees. They do many activities outside in good weather. They do a good job of administering the meds, and keeping the residents clean. On the negative side, I think their food is not top notch and the portions are quite small. They also kept the residents seated at the table waiting for the food to arrive for a long time (maybe 20-30 minutes or so). Another negative is that many residents end up using a community bathroom with only one toilet when they are downstairs for eating or for activities, which is a large part of the day. And that bathroom would fairly frequently be dirty, because someone had used it before a cleanup person would get to it. Many of the bedrooms are shared with 2 or 3 people, with one bathroom. And the air conditioning doesn't reach all bedrooms well at all. However, when I complained about that, they did install an air conditioner in my husband's room after about 2 or 3 months.

It didn't feel as clean, however, they were doing a remodel so that probably had a to to do with it. The rooms that they showed us that were available were just to small fore what we were looking for. It's already hard to move from a house to smaller space so we want to get my mother and step-father as much space as possible.

Lovely setting; apartments are spacious; however, residents do not seem to be as active as I am. Yoga and Zumba are done in chairs! May look again when I'm closer to making a firm decision.

Clean community. Healthful menu and activities. Would have to share room and rent increases in 2015.

Place was nice, but was more apartment life. Mom needs more assisted care.
