Atria

Atria El Camino Gardens is currently under construction. When my father-in-law passed away we were looking for places close to us for my mother-in-law. When we saw the facility we saw it was being remodeled but we were able to look past that. Well, we thought it would be done a lot sooner. The hallway that my mother-in-law is in is complete so that is nice. The residents are definitely complaining about it and it is unsettling for them. Another complaint I have is they never seem to get our bill right. We got a special deal and they keep sending the wrong amount. Michelle is very lovely there. We had a lot of gripes in the beginning and she has really been on top of things.

The grounds are great and the independent living side is also very good. The dementia care leaves something to be desired. There is little attention to detail and a lack of enthusiasm which translates to a fairly boring environment for those residents that are higher functioning. I would recommend that anyone with a family member in dementia care become involved and make frequent visits to monitor if all needs are being met.

In terms of the facility itself and the staff I think Atria Collwood is a very nice place. The people here are all very nice, and they do their best to look after the people who live her. Every single person really is as nice as can be. However, they have a lot of communication issues between staff members, coordinating with doctors, etc. I still find myself having to be very involved in the care process just to make sure care instructions get communicated and carried out, and for the amount of money I am paying that isn't something I think I should need to do. And it isn't just the staff here, it is a problem throughout the industry, but still something they really need to improve.

It is too soon for me to review, as my father still has many issues. Care is very good, but the food leaves a lot to be desired and the portions are quite small.

This facility doesnt appear to offer an Independent Living option. It is our hope that our parents start our that way, knowing their needs will change over time.

Overall, it's a nice place. The wellness staff, in particular , is very thorough, empathetic, and professional. The general staff is accommodating as well. The facility is clean, complete with a park/nature preserve in the backyard which makes it very pleasant during the warmer months. Certain members of senior management, however, can at times seem resentful of any questions, input, or recommendations made by family members - which is disconcerting and off-putting. In an environment such as this, inquiries should always be welcomed. They should realize that responses and give and take would only enhance their performance and capabilities

The staff was great. They are friendly and welcoming. They have a great variety of activities. They go out to eat. On holidays they have a big dinner. There is live music once a week. The facility is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Overall, It was a pretty good experience. The Atria Copeland is a nice community with a friendly staff. The residents are very friendly as well. I would recommend the Atria Copeland.

I think in terms of care and safety Atria Woodlands has a lot to offer, but it was not a good fit for our loved one. The residents here seemed to be more on the high end of the care needs scale, and our loved one just was not at this point yet. The cost was also very high for someone who did not need this level of care yet.

Atria said they would not accomodate bringing meals/food trays to the residents room. Deal breaker for us.

I am very disappointed actually, I've heard so many positive and great things about the place but I am very disappointed in the false promises. When I moved my dad in I was promised that my dad could participate in his the he could be driven to his outside activities still and they would drive him, but he bis only brought to one of his many activities. He is diabetic and i was told someone would watch him at the restaurants...however when he calls me and I ask he all tells me how he was eating cake and other high sugar items as well. My biggest disappointment actually was not long after I boarding my plane home from moving him in and he called me telling me that they were denying his dog as a pet after they said it was okay. I jumped on next plane back, and then I had to get his doctors permission to allow his dog to be there. The community is lovely but they definitely oversell

We had somewhat of a mixed experience with Atria Woodlands. The facility itself seemed nice enough, it was well kept and clean. However, my loved one was not happy here. He did not feel he was getting much attention or compassion from the staff.

They are taking good care of us, and everything is alright, but the food is mediocre. That's the only thing I'd try to improve. The staff is very friendly.

There have been some issues since being here. They didn't get the call button to my loved one right away, and there was a situation where she needed it, and didn't have it. They only have transportation Monday - Friday, and it costs extra if you need it on the weekend because they have to hire a transport van. There really isn't much that can be done on the weekend, they will tell you, you have to stay well until Monday. We chose it because the rooms were bigger than a lot of the places we looked at.

They have really made dad feel comfortable. He considers it his home now, and they have really made him feel at home. It is sometimes kind of hard to get a hold of their administrative staff. They do not have a voice mail, and that makes it hard to reach them. My dad really enjoys the food and the care he is receiving is great.

The lady that introduces you to the place and gets you oriented is wonderful. Very friendly and informative. The only area I can think of where they can improve (and this is coming from my mom who is the resident there) would be better housekeeping. Other than that it has been a good experience and we would highly recommend Atria Westchase.

Overall I think they do a good job at Atria Riverdale, although we have had a few difficulties. From what I have seen the staff are all very friendly and willing to help out, and the facility itself is well kept and clean. My loved one is having a bit of trouble adjusting to this new style of living, but the staff are doing their best to help him settle in. We've had a mix-up or two with the medication service, but nothing serious. My loved one does not seem to enjoy the food here. I do like that they are pet friendly, I think having animals around is a big plus for seniors!
