too expensive, no private rooms

I really enjoyed the tour and the overall appearance of the facility.. However, be VERY careful with "hidden" charges that will get tacked on to your loved ones bill without consent.. then while looking for an explanation from a representative they actually said to me "I wish my father were still around so I could take care of him..adult care is expensive but its worth it" seemed like information that did not pertain to my situation at all and seemed like an attempt to sidetrack the conversation

Clean, smelled nice, memory care, group activities, staff very friendly, nice grounds, menu was fine, flexible programs for personal care, 30 day notice for move out, financially it could work and a possibility. If she moves to Texas.

My mother required more care than available at assisted living. Her stay was a brief month. The activity and food service staff were great. The nurse in charge was very abrupt and a poor fit for an elder care community.

I love certain parts of it, but not other parts. The staff is very friendly. The food is incredible. I love how neighborly it is, for the most part, they are very accepting. The apartment itself is a little small for me. I liked that they were more dog friendly than all the other places, and it was more historic looking. It was in a good location and close to everything. They run it very well. They are really accommodating. It's a little on the expensive side for those that don't need any assistance.

Nice tour and nicer than I expected but don't like location on highway and only a porch out back. Could be a little cleaner too. Not ruled out just not my favorite.

My loved one was here briefly, but she just wasn't ever able to settle in and enjoy herself. The facility itself was nice enough, it was clean, well kept, and the staff all seemed very friendly. They also always appeared to have a good amount of activities going on. One issue I noticed during her stay here was that the place felt understaffed, sometimes it was difficult to locate someone if you needed assistance.

We've had a few issues with the care at Atria East Northport. I feel like they need to pay more attention to things in general, both in terms of the residents as well as the upkeep of the facility itself. My loved one had a rough start here, with some falls and an illness within the first two weeks. He also never seems to have clean clothes, I'm not sure they adhere very strictly to their laundry schedule. I also felt like although the management was very active and responsive the first few weeks to justify the large upfront "community fee", now it's mostly just status quo. You're much better off speaking to the aides directly if you want results. One thing they seem to do well, however, is the food. It always looks pretty good.

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for a loved one. Compared to some others we saw this place did not impress us. It just didn't seem as clean, and the staff were not quite as friendly. The people looked unhappy as well. And it was priced the same as some of the higher quality places we looked.

You should know that my father absolutely loves this place... the staff... the location, but my problem right now is they are continually getting his medications wrong. I have spoken them multiple times. Medication is so important. I hope that everything works

We enjoyed our meal. It was VERY nice but it is just beyond the budget. The thank you basket was VERY NICE!

This place looked very nice, and the staff were all very friendly, but it was not a good fit for my loved one. The care needs of the residents seemed to be on the higher end of things, which limited the social activities. They also raised the rent significantly every year, which started to strain my loved one's finances.

I don't know how they can call themselves memory care. They didn't seem to have the level of care that would be needed and if you need a lot of care they hire "companions" and charge more. They gave them the morphine whether they needed it or not. I was not impressed. They did have a good variety for their menu.

Met with Norma. Exterior looks great, even with 3 feet of snow. Dining room was dark at noon (may have been overcast. 1 bedroom looked great - very clean and spacious with lots of closets. Making residents wear a Life Alert sounds great, but a dementia patient would forget what that is. Rate seems expensive -- $2,700/month, plus $1,600 new resident fee (plus electric, gas and cable TV = add $125/month). Add $250 per month for Level 1 medication management. This location was where my grandmother stayed (about 15 years ago) Classmate from HS said that Kinghaven lost someone's grandfather for several hours. All in all, it seems like a very pricey location.
