My mother moved in about 6 weeks ago. I am generally satisfied with care and cleanliness levels. Staff is competent and concerned, though you can sense that given the demands of their responsibilities they are under some degree of strain. I feel the dining room staff could be somewhat warmer. Activities are more plentiful and interesting than at Mama's former assisted living in southern Florida. Mama's depression limits her enjoyment of the many positive aspects here, but that is not the facility's fault.

Everything has been great. The only complaint I have is, I have phoned about concerns a few times and the calls have not been returned.

We toured this community when we were looking into options for our loved one. We were very impressed with what we saw here, the residents looked happy and like they were having fun. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the food was very nice. However, this community was a bit too large to be an option for my loved one. It was an outdoor community, so there would be a lot of walking between buildings.

We used the dementia unit and I felt like they didn't take the residents out of the area as much as they could. The food was fair a pretty healthy 4. They did a pretty good job keeping the meals healthy for the residents diets. I would not use it long term. If I needed to use a respite care again, I would keep looking. We chose them because at the time they were the only place with an opening.

The apartment is just right for my mom. I like the cleanliness, service, staff and dining. I am very impressed and would recommend to others. I was pleased to see my mom involved in the exercise class. My moms security and well being is very important to me. This facility meets all of her needs. Thanks!

I am considering this for my parent? I need to know if it has an entrance fee (one-time lump sum, whether "refundable" in the future or not), or just monthly rental. Thanks

It would have been OK. I really believe that when I saw the people there, they were more stuck up. They just weren't friendly to me when I first when in. I didn't see much, I was just on a tour. I do know someone there that is a real nice person, so I'm sure there are nice people there. It was also $500 a month more than what I'm paying now, and they had a large wait list.

Seemed very nice, but too much of a community focus for Dad to like. Kerri Mathews was absolutely wonderful! Care options were good at beginning, but perhaps not enough at the end.

It's been going fairly well. The drivers are wonderful, it's very clean, well kept, and the maintenance staff is fantastic. It's a beautiful place. It's independent and you can do your own thing. They have beautiful spacious apartments. They have activities, and movies are great. It has a very uplifting environment. The food is just really below standards sometimes it's good but there are times when my family member won't eat and sometimes if they don't like what they are having and request something else they will be out of the other things that they like.

This was a nice looking community that we toured when we were looking around for options for Mom. It looked and smelled clean, which is always a plus for these places. The staff was friendly during our tour. They seemed to have plenty of activities, although not as many as some that we visited.

I am from Northern Westchester Hospital. We scheduled talks for the Atria residents. We appreciated the opportunity to bring our providers to your facility. The staff was very welcoming, particulalry Jennifer who was always there to assist us with the set-up of each inidividual talk. Julie was also very welcoming and the person with whom we arranged these talks. Julie was there for the first talk, but not for the others, which was okay because Jennifer was there.

Choosing an assisted living for my Dad has been one of the hardest decisions in my entire life. My Dad is my entire world........he's always been my rock and since his diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, I have become his rock. When we were first told he couldn't come back home, I began looking into assisted living. As soon as I walked into Marland Place, I just had a amazing, warm feeling. Everyone was so nice to me and I felt from the start that the entire staff really cared about Marland Place and what they could do for my father. Rosie and Jim have Ben by my side the entire way......I cannot say enough about both of them. I have laughed and cried with them. Today I brought Dad to live there......words cannot describe how hard that was for me to close his apt door.....my Dad and I have always been an amazing team. I have to let go a bit and allow the Marland staff take over in my Dad's care.....it will be an adjustment for us both. Getting that phone call from Jim telling me that dad is just fine and he will thrive allowed me to breathe and my tears stopped flowing out.....although my Dad has been dealt a tough hand in life, he deserves to live the rest of his life in an amazing, loving and caring environment. I truly believe Marland Place is the place for him.......

My mom has been here for several months now. The staff is always super friendly to residents and guests. What we really like about it is that it is a smaller community so residents seem to interact more, We had previously tried a larger faculty that always seemed like a ghost town/museum than a community/home. Many of the activities are led by residence which has its advantages (people are engaged) and disadvantages (not every activity actually happens)

This was a two or three story building which I really didn't want because it's too hard when you have a problem with memory to find your way around and I didn't think multiple floors and stairs would help.

This place was very nice but not as convenient for us as another Sunrise location. It didn't have as many restaurants and things around to go out and it's wasn't as new. They had a house dog - a rescue dog that belongs to everyone in the community.

My mom had a nice large space which was fine. But the entire facility has been undergoing remodeling, so there has been a lot of noise which has been unpleasant. Also a lot of staffing issues. They lost their driver, so no outings or field trips the entire time my mom was there. They also lost their main chef, so the dining experience, according to my mom, went down hill after that. They were also short staffed on cleaning crew, which meant that the maintenance staff had to fill in and clean apartments and help with laundry, making it harder for maintenance to take stay on top of care of maintenance for residents apartments. Everyone who works there is very nice. It just felt like bad timing as the company seems to have bigger plans for the location.

The place looks lovely. A lot of the staff seem to just phone it in, an exception being the reception staff. Many of the activities were just groups watching a big screen. [name removed] only lived about 6 weeks at Atria before she passed.

First, the sales pitch... We were told she would have an ambassador for the first couple of weeks. Who came to get her out and introduce her around. Turns out, that was just a couple of days. Mom is awkward socially, so we were really looking forward to that . So that was disappointing. The staff in general is very good. The woman who cleans her room and the server in the dining room are both fabulous. That said, we have had to ask them for several things that we shouldn't have had to like following up on her clean towels and her room getting cleaned, and they were late, giving her her morning support several times. We also had some things shipped there from amazon and we know that they were delivered there, but they never made it to her room. The activities seem pretty good, although mom's not really interested in very many of them, so we can't give much feedback there. That's an Us problem, not an Atria problem. Quality of the food honestly is a little lacking. Mom says they're frequently out of a lot of staples. But as I said, the cleaning stuff is great. Her room and the facility is clean and well cared for. She has a one bedroom, and it's a nice size. Two big closets are great. My sister also mentioned that the food is lacking.... Or declining... She's been with my mom at mealtime, a couple of times. One example was, mom ordered the beef stew, and there was only one tiny piece of beef in it. They're frequently out of chocolate ice cream.

I was a victim of View and Switch, Bait and Switch. On [date removed], I was shown four apartments. The one that I was considering on leasing was smaller but cost more. I asked my salesperson to check with her superior about negotiating a lower price under these circumstances. She came back to me that the one I was interested in had been sold (while I was touring) and that another apartment had become available (while I was touring). This is suspicious to me, and I told them so.
