Beautiful place very friendly and clean!! I think the staff is very attentive and trys to make it really nice for the residences! Is it perfect no but i don't believe any place is. Only one's home might reach that level that being said I'd like to believe it's the next best thing !! I highly recommend it ! 4 out of 5 Stars

Nice place Activities and people are great We must go to assisted living building for breakfast (only meal included with indeptent living option) Would perfer other meal was option or meal card with 30 meals per month Maintaince people are quick to fix all problems I wanted a one bedroom but agreed to take a 2 bedroom to get 1st on list for next one bedroom ($1400 cheaper) Well it has been 6 months if nothing opens in Dec I plan to give my notice and move out end of December Right now I am looking at Alta Vita independent living

My parents have been there until Dad passed away and now Mom is there. I major complaint is with the kitchen staff mainly the so called director. She is rude and and disrespectful . The food is pushed in front of the residents and the attitude is they want to get them out so they can go home. The place is well kept and the general staff is professional.

Mom has been at the Plaza for five years. Atria took over the facility in [date removed] and since that time many employees have either quit or were let go. Currently the facility is without a bus driver and this position has been vacant for several months now. There is a bus that is being used from another facility, but the amount of shopping and outings have been cut drastically. They advertise limo transportation to appointments, but recently this was cut to Mondays and Tuesdays only. Unless you can get a doctor appointment on those days, you don't get a ride to the doctor. The full time registered nurse recently left and the position is currently not filled. They no longer take residents blood pressure when asked to do so. The residents are no longer able to order off the menu in the dining room. They are offered two entree choices and it is difficult to get something other than what is on the special menu. They are often told there is nothing else available. The guest parking is terrible and often nothing is available when coming for a visit. There is no street parking in this area. The laundry facilities on one of the floors has been under repair for several months now. They did recently get new washing machines, but they are not installed yet. Mom won't consider moving just yet as the thought is overwhelming to her and she has friends at the Plaza. She says she will tough it out a little longer.

The "Life Guidance" (memory care) facility at this location has gone downhill in the past year. Caretakers are amazing, however, management refuses to address any concerns (the emergency alarm in my mom's room does not work despite the fact that I have complained about it for at least two months. Her TV hasn't worked in weeks, despite the fact that I reported that. Now her TV cable remote has gone missing. During a recent two week hospitalization, her personal wheelchair disappeared--a rickety wheelchair of much lesser quality was in her room when she returned home from the hospital, and her better wheelchair has never been found. Finding employees in the facility has become increasingly difficult. They appear to be seriously understaffed. Very disappointed.

Double rooms ensure privacy. Beautiful porch and outside lawn. Doors to memory care are not locked but an alarm sounds when the doors are open. We tried the alarm system but it was quite a while before someone responded. No church services. It is still in consideration for my Mom but not at the top of the list.

It's a nice property, appearance-wise, but they were very disorganized the day we visited -- the person we were supposed to meet was not there, so someone else led the tour. Someone else was supposed to talk to us after the tour about pricing, but apparently no one was available, so they said someone would call the next day. But it's three days later and no one has called to follow up.

We are familiar with this place from searches prior to [named removed]'s last fall on 8/3/17. Will they accept sliding scale for diabetes and provide the other care that he gets in a skilled nursing long-term care facility? Lifting from bed to wheel chair, toilet, PT and changing depends, dressing etc.? If yes...when can we move in? We will check with them on Thursday. Thanks for arranging the appointment.

Cost too much

Very beautiful, but feel it's too fancy for Mom.

With my love one being here it seems like everything is going ok so far. My love one is still adjusting since it’s a different way of living for her. My first impression of touring the facility I thought that it was ok, however I did look at other properties that I liked better. For the price and the care that my love one needs, it was a good fit. The staff is good at contacting me to let me know about everything which is good and they seem know what they’re doing. If I were to having any questions about anything they’re responsive and they give me answers. The facility’s layout is pretty straightforward and it’s easy to get around. They also provide numerous activities for the residents to participate in. Overall, it’s a good location, its clean, and the people seems nice.

I took a tour of this facility a couple of times and my Mom will be moving in. They’ve been very nice about any concerns that I have. It’s a large building but the staff seems knowledgeable about the type of care that she’ll need. They have daily activities available for the residents and the cleanliness seems very good. She’s not quite moved in yet, so right now this is based off of my first impression only.

Place seemed dated and old. Staff was friendly but felt like they were overselling. Looked prettier on the website than in person.

The staff is wonderful, the residents are wonderful also. It is an older building but it's well kept up and clean. The food is mediocre and you get 3 meals a day.The maintenance is slow at doing things. The price is very affordable. They check on us daily. They have lots of daily activities if you want to enjoy them.

I toured here with my friend (who eventually moved in) when we were trying to find a place for them to live. Something that I noticed when looking at the menu was that everyone eats the same thing, and that bothered me. There’s a set menu and not a lot of options available. The rooms were lovely, though, and there’s a garden outside. My friend seemed to be happy there. There was a big reception desk and they weren’t very friendly and neither were the people that clean your room. The facility is nice and it looks homey and cheerful, but you could tell it was an old folk’s home.

This is an older and smaller facility than other facilities I have toured. The facility looks really good and the management is wonderful. The only problem I had is there is a weak link in the nursing staff. They just wouldn't be able to provide the level of care that my parents need. There isn't a nurse on staff after 7 p.m. and the Med Tech didn't go to the rooms to administer medication. There just seemed to be less manpower and a little less of everything. They just aren't set up for a high level of care as my parents need. I would recommend this facility if your loved one doesn't need a high level of care.

I toured 7 communities before deciding on one for my sister to go to. So far, my experience with Atria has been good and also very bad. I’ll start with the good – as far as the amenities and non-management staff is concerned, I would rate them a 5. The non-management staff is very friendly and helpful. My sister likes the food very much and one of the biggest selling points of this community to me was that they have open seating, so she’s not forced to sit with people who she may not get along with. She can go into the dining room at any time while it’s open and order anything she wants from their open menu – so if she wants an omelet at 10 in the morning, when breakfast was over at 8, they’ll make it for her. I love that their food is made to order and doesn’t just sit on the counter under lamps all day. Lately, she’s told me that they’ve been closing the dining room before 4pm but I’ve been told by the staff that it’s typically open until 5:45, when dinner is over. The housekeeping is excellent and her studio is cleaned weekly. They help with her linens, but I have to take care of her personal laundry. They have plenty of activities too like talent shows, bingo, and art classes. They have a theater that shows full-length movies and they’ll have a performer come in to sing for them every so often. The environment is very pleasant and it feels like assisted living, not like you’re walking into hospice. When I first signed up to have her live here, Atria was having a special for rent-lock for a year and that was a plus. There have been some bad things that I’ve experienced as well. The management staff is not very cooperative. They’re not receptive and they’re hostile, and very difficult to get ahold of. The day after I moved my sister in, they sent us a notice that they would be charging us a LOT more money than we originally were told we would be charged and they’re saying it’s because she needs a higher level of care. However, my sister is highly functioning and is able to do almost everything on her own. They are trying to charge us for things that she does not need, and we have both tried to speak with them about it but every time my sister or I attempt to confront them, they avoid us. I’ve sent them letters and have heard nothing over this matter. The facility offers transportation to doctors’ appointments but only within a 5 mile radius. If your doctor is further than 5 miles then you have to arrange for different transportation. They insist on having automatic payments set up. I tried to see if I would be able to be billed and write checks to them but they told me that their lock box is in California and if my check does not arrive on time, there are penalties. There’s a very large one time up front “community fee” of $3,500 that I wasn’t aware of until I was already signing the papers. My sister was not able to stay there for about a month but I had had to pay the rent for the month she wasn’t there. We had her things there, but she never had the opportunity to experience the community within that month, so I asked the executive director if I would be able to receive some sort of credit that I could use towards other things for her and I was met with a flat out “no”. I’m not pleased that they weren’t considerate enough to consider giving us a credit for the time that she wasn’t there. Overall, we’re paying about $2,800 for my sister’s studio and, for the accommodations and amenities, I’m satisfied with the price. But it feels like I don’t have control over the payment process and management does not speak with me. I’m still working on trying to get some things worked out with them, but as of right now they’re still avoiding me.
