Reading the reviews, I see many are impressed by all the activities provided to the residents. Well this does not apply to my 98 year old mother who suffers from dementia but is still quite articulate and gets her point across to me, her daughter. Prior to the pandemic I visited with my mom 3 to 4 times a week. Now it is rare even though we both have been vaccinated. The beauty parlor and getting her hair done lifted her spirits. It's gone, never to return. My mom goes many days without her hair being washed. The condition of her rug has not been cleaned in over a year with many stains. I have requested it get cleaned numerous times. I do pay extra $ for extra care. My mom seems depressed now.

The tour itself was good at Atria Kinghaven. It seemed like a pretty average place. Price was a big issue for us, and it just wasn't the perfect fit for my loved ones.

I moved into the Atria about 4 years ago. It was an independent one. However in the last couple of years things are changing. People with semester and physical disabilities. Are very prominent. The entire atmosphere is different residents eat in their rooms never come down for meals. There are about 30 people who are not affected can participate in activities which are not a challenging as they used to be. People go to moment sleep. The staff is wonderful. But is limited as are some programs. Go back to independent Atria!

The staff members are incredible, the medication distribution is really good, the nurses are on time and i get everything I need. However response time for when we need help is ridiculous, there is always an excuse as to why someone can't come. The food is atrocious I refuse to eat, it is adequate but the quality is horrible and not appetizing. It is to expensive monthly, the apartments are tiny and have barely any room for visitors.

We would of given this community 5 stars but up until recent they are deciding to raise the rate almost what seems to be triple and our loved one has not even been there a year. The community is very clean, and the staff are friendly but the communication could be better. Our loved one really enjoys the meals and dining service and the activities are starting to come back. However, we are a little upset and confused with the fact the community is having the residents chip in for Christmas gifts for the care givers a certain about a day for the length of time they have been there.

This community was kind of for smaller people. There was not as much space in the rooms and the staff were great and professional. But the physical plants and apartments were smaller. The people really seemed to know there stuff.

The reason we went here is they have really huge three bedroom apartments, and everything else we looked at was small. My loved one is happy with her apartment. And she has about 4-5 different things going on every day with activities. The rent is a little high though with a recent increase.

Covid could be a factor, but I don't think there are enough activities to keep the residents busy. Other than that, the only other main issue is the food. The residents say the food is horrible. It's pre-pared and brought in, so it's not fresh. But the daily staff is great. They've all been there a long time. The office staff needs a little work. Living spaces are nice, but the wi-fi is terrible. You have to try to go into a common area to get it to work, and its still not all that good there.

It's a very nice facility. It's very clean, and the rooms are nice. The food is awful, and a real sore point It's all the same thing. They just give it different names. I don't think they have many activities. They do bingo and that sort of thing, but nothing much. I would like to see them keep the residents busier. But the staff for the most part seem to try. They're very nice and try to be helpful.

In general there is a turnover of staff, this maybe due to COVID. There are some caregivers that are very dedicated. The administrative staff overall has been a poor experience for us. The activities are hit and miss. It would be better if they would follow through on their schedule. I wouldn't recommend the community to others. There are other communities that would fit your loved one's needs better, than they are here at Atria. It is supposed to be a home, and it seems more like renting a room. It feels like they have a quota to fill for the sales team. It is unprofessional in the way they are making the connections.

Atria Covina is a good community but could be better. The meals and dining service can really be improved, if the resident can't make it downstairs for meal time they are charged a delivery fee each time. They say they are not a medical community and only assisted living but they provide medication to the residents so that is not true. They also advertise there is always two nurses available which is also not true. When we went for orientation we were told a certain amount of entry fee, and now it seems like every month passed more and more charged are being tacked on.

During the onboarding process, they were great and very cooperative. They seemed very interested in doing the right thing by my loved one. But once he was there, that was not the case. I don't think they were equipped to handle his combativeness. I would have rather had them be upfront and say they couldn't handle him rather than have us move in and then obviously they can't. He was a difficult patient, so it was not all their fault, but they certainly didn't help the situation.

It's nice that our loved one is near family. It has been amazing for my loved one. The meals and the cleaning, and plus the daily assistance with some daily activities has benefited my loved one. The family no longer has to worry about meals and laundry for my loved one.

Initially described as the Cadillac of senior living, the experience has been less than stellar. Understaffed, very few activities, workers seem overworked, underpaid, and frustrated. As covid winds down, we hope it improves considerably. For what we pay we expect more.

There was a lot of confusion with the move-in process, I think they really need to improve that process. I would recommend this community to others

It is a good community and would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is cost effective for our family. The staff that handles the transportation is awesome. The community says the food is five star; however, our loved one can still make their own food if they want. The administration and office staff are all very, very good. There is no staff around after a specific time and they lock the doors at a specific time frame for the independent side.

There were still quite a few Covid restrictions at the time that we toured, so we were limited on what we could see. And I felt like we couldn't get a true perspective. It was a smaller, older facility, and didn't have the wow factor of another facility we toured. We saw a tiny little resident room. We didn’t get to see the activities room or dining area, but that’s not their fault. The people who led our tour were very informative, welcoming, and kind, and they took time to answer any questions we had.
