We did not have a good experience, especially with his medications. They were not able to follow the correct administration of his medications. They asked for a security deposit but it is a community fee, it is not refundable at the end of the stay which we were not told.

We had a virtual tour, and because of that, I felt it was difficult to determine what the facility was actually like. It would be very easy for them to just show you only the best of things. So I didn’t care for the virtual tour experience, but the person who led the tour seemed very nice. I just had limited information to go off of because of the virtual format.

Our family had a virtual experience, and it was nice but the community was just way out of our price range.

Right now I would tell others the community need a boiler, and we don't have enough hot water. The food is okay, it is very repetitious though.

Surprisingly quiet location even though it is close to Rte.53. Smaller facility, but overall nice. One thing that put me off was a resident that was wandering and looked confused, while some of the staff chatted.

Atria Maplewood is beautiful, we are happy with it, and all in all it generally is a good place. There are not to many activities going on at the moment and some of the staff members are very nice, and others not so much. We do think the value for cost is pretty high.

They didn’t have anything available at the time when I toured. They just showed me the dinging room and a few things. I didn’t really get much communication with them. I decided to put off moving and keep looking.

No outdoor space, lacked charm , very basic.room was a box .people were nice but disappointed in location seemed like it was dropped in a parking lot

The community is very clean, and the staff members have all been very friendly. Our loved one absolutely loves the food, they say the meals are excellent. The activities are starting to open back up, she was able to play bingo and participate in a lecture. The care services on the other hand are up for debate. We have had a few instances where they say have have done one thing, but do another. They also keep upping the price, and we have to have a conversation as to why and they will bring them back down.

We are sure this community had a horrendous time during the pandemic, but they were so helpful with families we do know they had a lot to juggle. The executive director promptly returned our phone calls and emails. She was very professional which we really appreciated. Most of the staff members have been very great as well as the care services. The activities are starting to come back, we do know they are getting our loved one out and about which is great. It is a smaller place, so the scale is good for those with memory impairments, it has been great for our loved one. We have had pretty good access to management, we had regular calls during the first couple of week with the head of memory care. They would take time out of their day to call our family with updates regarding our loved one.

We weren't allowed to go inside to tour here, so I drove around the area on my own and then had a virtual tour. I couldn’t tell much based on the virtual tour. They made it very attractive from a financial aspect though. They had some promotions going on, with move-in specials and waiving of some of the fees. In the end, we went with a different place that was a more convenient location to my work.

Shop elsewhere before making a decision. I wish I had known the games that assisted living facilities can play, in the way that they can manipulate the family into decisions that benefit Atria and their associated businesses, upselling services and not being completely upfront with their bigger agenda. It's been difficult because I have been allowed to have access inside the building or to my loved one. So it's hard to know what's going on not having been able to witness the care firsthand. My loved one is generally pleased with the care, and she seems to look well when I see her. So I've had problems with the administration, but my loved one seems to be doing well there.

Seemed a little cold, not a warm/friendly atmosphere. No outdoor spaces. Price was good, unit pretty good. Just don’t think will help with socialization.

We toured Atria and it was a very nice and pretty facility, but it was way over priced. It was overwhelming because what you see on the outside is not what you see on the inside. I was paying close attention to other resdeints and I did not see any smiling faces.

I would tell others to go someplace else. It started out great and then ended poorly. The communication wasn't great with the staff. In the end it was a heartache trying to get everything done. This was after reaching out to their home office.

There's been a lack of communication. Corporate doesn't want to hear anything. They're nonchalant about addressing certain issues. You have to go to the executive director to get anything resolved. They don't know how to take care of hearing aids. They just plop them in an envelope and mail them back to you. When that hearing aid arrives in bits in and pieces, they do nothing about it. Basically my loved one was confined to his room with nothing to do all day since Covid started. They're not offering any kind of activities, and his mental health has declined. From what I've seen, they do keep the place clean, individual rooms as well as shared spaces.

It depends on the diagnosis of your loved one. If you go with the flow and everything is good the program will work fine. If you have anything that doesn't fit their program they keep charging you for more services; without addressing the issues at hand. They aren't prepared for different issues, and they weren't prepared for the memory care residents. It is a beautiful community.

It is ridiculously expensive for the amount of money we spend a month. For the cost they should provide toiletries for the residents, they charge for absolutely everything short of wiping someones nose. Taking some one down to the dining hall in a wheel chair qualifies for a high level of care with a price increase. They also raised the monthly rates because of covid protocols.

We've not been pleased - they've been on lockdown over a year, with no internal cable tv station for the community, which could bring them together. They're really isolated. At a previous place, they had a channel to watch shows and interact and classes. It's been a year, most people have learned how to do zoom and communicate with their residents. The food is good - my loved one loves the food. The people are nice. The residents are all quite sharp, and she's very thrilled with being able to speak with them and have intelligent conversations more once lockdown eases up. But so far she hasn't truly met anyone, just had introductions. The potential is there but it hasn't been realized. Atria is just not trying to engage the residents. They've had some holiday events, but they didn't advertise them properly. The only people she sees are the people who clean and bring in the food. They do get to go downstairs every day for a few hours, but with social distancing it's very isolating for the new residents. But Atria hasn't stepped into this new technology at all. I mentioned it to them, and nothing's been done. They did allow my loved one to borrow an i-pad to attend church services on zoom, but that's it.
