Nice well cared for facility. The person in charge gave us our tour. It was our first such tour so have nothing to compare it too. She was very kind and informative. I was not feeling well so didn't stay for lunch or get to see the memory unit. It's a little farther way from where we would prefer to be but we'll make that decision down the road.

The staff has been friendly and accommodating. The spaces are kept very clean and the food is good. I have visited fairly often with other family and the staff and residents have been friendly and welcoming.

My mother-in-law is very happy at Atria Briarcliff Manor. She always comments how nice both the staff and other residents are. I've called her to find out she's at a talk in the parlor about "This Day in History" and I was still at home in my pajamas! The 3 meals x day have helped her gain back the unhealthy (scary) amount of weight she had lost before moving to Atria. She lives in a studio apartment that seems just right size-wise.

Everything has been great so far and the staff have been very friendly and accommodating The only complaint my father in law keeps telling us about is the food. He says he feels that sometimes its cold and bland. But we feel he just has nothing else to complain about so that's okay. Unfortunately he has not been participating much with activities yet so we can't speak to it. Being on the memory care side with him still having his memory intact for the most part, he complains that the other residents dont really converse with him

I am for the most part satisfied with Atria. Food could be better. Good activities. Room cleanliness a bit erratic. Care at times uneven. Hope this helps!!

My parents are very happy there! They are in a villa and love that they love the food. They use the workout room to ride by daily. My mom has sung in the choir. They have not really done any outings with the group. The only complaint is landscapers, which is a separate contractor, leaving debris behind their villa yard for long periods of time.

My mom moved into a one bedroom and it is the perfect size for her. She would like more choices on the food, but says it is nice to have 3 meals a day. As of right now she is not doing a lot of activities as she has only been there 3 weeks and is still adjusting. The place is very clean and looks and smells clean. Staff has always been very helpful and friendly.

We recommend a close review of each monthly statement before making payments. It's a nice place with very nice residents. Easy for them to mix and mingle which is so important!

My mother-in-law stayed in the respite apartment. It was furnished well enough for her purposes. It is a fairly small space, but she said that that encouraged her to get out into the public areas and socialize. The cleanliness of the facility was excellent. The food was good, but according to my mother-in-law, not interesting enough. She is a rather picky eater since she happens to be a very good cook. She enjoyed many of the activities, especially bingo. She was appreciative of having a hair salon right in the facility. The staff were all very nice, but there was a grievance regarding one staff member who was particularly liked by the residents, that was suddenly fired with no explanation given . For some reason, the residents felt that they were owed an explanation.

Overall, our experience was very positive. The community was immaculate, and the staff was incredibly kind and caring, especially the medication technicians, aides, and the primary RN, who was outstanding. My only significant concern occurred on my mom's last day there. After she fell, the staff called to let me know they had found her on the floor and helped her back into bed. They asked whether I wanted her taken to the emergency room or allowed to rest. Because she had dementia and it was impossible to know whether she had hit her head, I asked them to call 911 and requested that someone stay with her until EMS arrived. I later learned that when EMS arrived, they found my mom on the floor a second time, indicating she had been left alone and had gotten up and fallen again. That was very upsetting and should not have happened. Aside from that incident, Atria was an excellent fit for my mom. The quality of the staff, the cleanliness of the community, and the overall care were excellent. As long as steps are taken to prevent something like this from happening again, I would still recommend the community.

Apartment is lovely. She has a one bed which is plenty roomy - the studios seem very small. The place is very clean and the day to day staff very good. The activities are good but IMO they could do more especially getting the residents out if the facility.

Overall good experience. Facility was very clean and well-appointed. The food was excellent. There were some communication issues with the staff related to dietary restrictions and also a small billing snafu, but pretty good overall.

4 for all categories. My sister is paying $[removed] for a room that fits a queen size bed one large dresser and a night stand. Also 2 side chairs. A bathroom with toilet and sink and a walk in shower. Also one large double door closet. She has someone help her getting dressed for the day and for sleep. Room is cleaned daily. She has 3 meals in a dining area. Has mentioned foods she does not like but no substitute. She has gone to some of the activities. My sister is just not into them. Not happy with the laundry system. A few of her items have been lost. She is comfortable there and we are hoping things get better.

I am concerned about employee satisfaction though as we see a lot of turnover. The caregiver & dining room service. Overall happy

Food is generally good but rather repetitive menu. Staff and residents are quite friendly for the most part. Activities are of limited intellectual character , ie bingo and the like. Biggest problem adjusting is early dinner time. If not in dining area well before 6 pm choices are limited and dinner is over by 6:30 and restaurant closes.

Our overall experience has been great. There was a short term Learning curve/adjustment period for both my mom and the staff, but since then everything has been fine. The room size in the LG section is a bit smaller than we would have hoped, but it serves well enough. The staff are attentive and engaging, room is always clean, the activity level is good for an LG resident I feel, and my mom appears to be much more engaged as well compared to her previous living arrangement.

The facility is great. My sister was not allowed to move in until she provided a form from a doctor saying she could live independently in the Assisted Living section. A doctor did sign it, my sister's primary, and she moved in. I wish the Director/Sales Person would have encouraged the MCU from the beginning. After 3 weeks she was taken by ambulance to ER for severe dehydration. Fortunately I was with her when it happened. [Names Removed] was in the hospital for 7 days getting re-hydrated. I think they ran a plethora of tests to make sure nothing was wrong internally. It was very evident while she was hospitalized that she was incapable of living independently, even with assistance. Fortunately, Atria Hacienda accommodated Kathy's move and as far as she knows she just switched apartments. Again, nobody was checking[Name Removed] fluid or food intake. They told me they knock on her door to ask if she wants to attend any activities. [Name Removed] is not cognizant enough to read anything and make decisions. Someone needs to go over the activities with her and ask her if she would like to go. I've been trying to track down activities calendars for the MCU. I was told now they are currently looking for a new Activities Director. I would like if there were more one-on-one time with the residents. Also, why can't some of the activities be held on the second floor? I believe more residents would participate if they were encouraged to do so. It would be better if there were more advanced medical personnel on the Second Floor MCU. And perhaps someone who just visits with residents would be nice.

Memory Care: The hands on staff have all been attentive and caring, excellent. Current activity staff are very engaging. Definitely try to get every resident to attend the activities, go to their rooms to encourage participation. Food Dinner food is brought to the units' heated prep stations from the main kitchen 1 1/2 to 2 hours before dinner is actually served to the residents.

She likes the food and really likes the staff. Her apartment is very nice. I would recommend to others.

Overall, it's been a great experience! The staff is so nice and the executive manager has been really great to address issues promptly. The reason I chose it for both my mom and my mil is because of the apartment size, amenities, food and activities. My only issue I've had is that the maintenance is slow to respond as they were without a maintenance man for a while. I've noticed some turn over in staff that has alarmed me. If they order food to their room, it takes forever and is cold by the time they receive it. They seem to run out very quickly on some food items. So if you don't get to meal times early, several things might not be available. Overall, it's been a great experience though. I have really enjoyed working with Atria and feel confident in my decision to choose them.
