Our great grandma has adjusted very well and is happy. She likes the staff, food, activities and has found good friends. The residents are so welcoming and really helped her get settled and feel at home.

We have two close family members at Atria. Staff members are compassionate and seem to genuinely enjoy caring for residents. This includes direct caregivers as well as administrative and facility staff members. The facility itself is clean, well maintained, warm, and homey. Creative activities, special events and entertainment are always happening and residents are highly encouraged to participate. Family members are always welcome. We feel our loved ones sre safe, respected, and well cared for there.

Service staff is good. Kitchen staff is weak in training and cooking skills. They don't know what a poached eggs is and how to cook one. Very time she asks for one of something, she gets two, etc. My friend won't eat any of the starches or vegetables because they are all over cooked. Thank heaven for the bistro for variety. At least she has access to the administration but that doesn't always get action. Many times when she asks a question, their answer is "that is the way all the Atria's do things". Activities are very weak but it may be because most of the residents are "assisted living" types and not " independent living" types who would actually do activities. The ratio between these two is out of balance and it colors a lot. Very blue collar group of people and they are afraid to say anything bad about anything for some reason. My friend is not and has been put on the resident committee. She is trying to help the situation. This place is still better than [communities removed] where she was before. Her apartment is probably the nicest in the place. If you want more info, just ask. More than [amount removed] seems expensive for what she is getting.

I sold my parents on the Atria under false pretenses which I am extremely disappointed about. We were told about a discount that actually my parents do not qualify for and I think they knew that and sold us on it anyway ….with that being said it is a great place for them and they are very happy there and I don’t want the poor actions of administrative people to reflect on the rest of the facility. The people that are hands-on and involved in the day-to-day functions of the facility are wonderful. The food is wonderful and my parents are very well cared for..

This facility is great for a loved one with a pretty high level of independence that requires very little assistance. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food was good and our experience was pleasant overall. They do have a high staff turnover rate and they are not staffed in such a way to provide a deeper level of care beyond bringing food trays to your loved one, basic house keeping and medication management. If your loved one falls frequently or is beginning to decent deeper in to dementia then they will rapidly instruct you to make other arrangements or require that you coordinate one on one 24/7 care while you look for alternative care. They do not assist with falls, they call an ambulance each time which sometimes resulted in as many as 3 ER visits in one day.

I ate lunch with my mom today and two friends in the dining hall. We all enjoyed our meal and agreed the food, and service by the lovely [name removed], was excellent. Like what you'd get at a good restaurant. This was not the case six months ago. But the staff understood changes needed to be made and they made them. They hired new staff, reorganized the kitchen, and I applaud them, staff and everyone who works in the kitchen, for making this essential enjoyment for residents - their meals - really, really good!

Conveniently located facilities with friendly staff. Residents seemed nicely engaged in various activities. Social activity schedule seemed packed and varied. Physical plant in good and clean condition.

What I like the most about Atria La Jolla is that the residents are very friendly and helpful and the reception staff are always friendly. I would recommend this community to other families

Price is very high. Felt a bit rushed to make a decision. I like the facility a lot. I just wish that it was more affordable or had some discounts for insurance.

Check-in system with staff follow-up ensuring resident health & safety. On-site Physical Therapy, indoor heated pool (depth 3 to 5 feet) with aqua-aerobics sessions 3 times a week, ADA compliant transportation to shopping/doctors/dining/outings provided by Atria, good meals at a restaurant-style dining room, different apartments to choose from allowing living & budgetary decisions, having independent & memory care in one place, covered parking garage, weekly light housekeeping.

They are very helpful, kind, respectful come to mind. I like it here, apartment is good size. The community area are decorated nicely and many activities, food is very good come see for your self. Thank you

We decided to move from our large property because we couldn’t keep up with taking care of it. We toured several senior living communities and chose Atria. Everyone is so friendly and we felt comfortable here. There is a variety of activities to enjoy and getting to know people at dinner is very interesting. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have a cute apartment overlooking the park where we take our dog for walks. No more cooking or doing major chores . Atria has been a good choice for us.

One complaint: I put some quality, classy, simple, beautiful decorations in the lobby of my parents’ building for fall, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and the residents loved them and complimented my parents! I was asked to take them down. No reason except “against Atria policy”. The residents told me it made their building seem “warm and welcoming” when they walked in. I wish that policy would be amended to allow me to provide joy to my mom’s building.

I do not need attend all of the events but those that I attend are very pleasant and acceptable. I chose this place for myself after visiting 4 others locally, I had a meal at each of them and found the food here very acceptable. I also have a very good housekeeper.

A very friendly community. There is help when I need it. You will find friendly, helpful group. Extremely fun group of residents. Lots of interesting and fun events. The food is good, healthy and nourishing.

It’s a great place! Overall it’s in pretty good shape. I have great friends here. I like the happy hours and exercise classes. I definitely love the putting green, I used to be an avid golfer. The holiday events are really great.

Overall a great experience. Communication could be a bit better.

You need to have good communication lines with their management to ensure alignment on care plan.

It's an expensive and premium location. Worked well for a short term stay for us.

My parents just moved in a few weeks ago. Everyone has been kind and helpful, and offered a lot of support. Leading up to the move, the sales and administrative staff were responsive and helpful and patient.
