Atria

We visited Atria Briarcliff with some of our Gramatan Village members who wanted more information on assisted living options. On our arrival we were greeted by a professional friendly staff where we were lead into a room for a presentation / Intellectual Stimulation on current events. Our main host was Julie Vedovino, who is delightfully engaging and shared so much helpful information with us and our members. During the presentation we were also introduced to other Atria staff, who spoke briefly about what they did there and how their particular jobs benefit the Atria community. The chef prepared us the freshest lunch and everything was presented beautifully. We had a lovely tour of some of the apartments and we were given a goody bag to go home with. We have visited Atria Riverdale several times and we are very supportive and positive in referring our Gramatan Village members to you.

I am pleased to contribute this review. Atria is an excellent establishment for folks who require Assisted Living. The central location to all that NYC offers is a strong advantage - both culturally and in terms of parks and nature. Staff is top drawer in attentiveness and spirit. The food is carefully prepared and flovorful.

Our family is extremely pleased with the staff at Atria. Everyone is consistently helpful, responsive, friendly, and most importantly, experienced, in the many issues that affect elderly folks when transitioning to this new lifestyle as well as maintaining and respecting independence and privacy.

We have lived here since its opening, September, 2007. We are still very satisfied at Atria Home Town and look forward to staying here as long as possible. The food is very good, the administrative staff, the people in the kitchen, dining room and the maintenance staff all do a great job. Above all, there is such a loving, caring atmosphere that is evident when you walk in the front door for the first time.

It’s been a year and a half since my dad and I first walked through the doors of Atria Marland Place. It was apparent from the start that this was a place where he could be comfortable. The setting is a lovely converted mill building with all the charm and character one could wish for, and a friendly, welcoming staff. But, let’s face it…a building is just a building and first appearances can be deceiving. Dad has been a resident for just over a year now and what we have learned is that, no matter where you are, it’s more about the care and caring than anything else. I doubt that there is any assisted living community that understands this better than Atria Marland Place. Dad has wonderfully attentive aides and housekeepers who help to keep him healthy and safe and, along with the rest of the fabulous staff, engaged and happy. It is a blessing for me to have the peace of mind that comes from knowing my dad is “at home” at Atria Marland Place.

They worked with us hand in hand and continue to still do so. They are family oriented, friendly, polite and have plenty of activities for their residents. I highly recommend.

I selected the Atria Riverdale because it offered the services and advantages my mother needs to live out her life. It is also close to where most family and friends can visit her. And most of all she will receive three meals daily. And the assurance that my mother will receive help immediately in emergency, as she wears a water proof wrist alert band and she can pull one of three alert devices in her apartment in emergency as well. Since my mother still needs the assistance of an aide, she had the option of keeping her own personal aide or getting one from the Atria service. I can also speak directly with those in charge if I have any questions or concerns. After only a two days, my mother has begun to try to do things without the assistance of the aide. She is beginning to come alive again. She is happy.

It was great. My mom and dad were there together for a long time, like 6 years. They were wonderful! The only reason my mom isn't there now is she has to be on oxygen and their dementia unit can't accept people on oxygen. But it was good there. I loved the people there but they were more expensive. Their med techs were wonderful too.

Well managed. Nice-sized room. Very friendly staff has made my dad feel welcomed.

They were gorgeous! very nice but the location and price of another community was going to work better for our family.

Everything is good. I did just have one thing I didn't like. The reason I don't give them a 5 is because I had an issue that came up recently. Dad has been there for almost two months now. He is getting showers three times a week. The other day I helped him get dressed and I noticed that his toe nails were just out of control and no one had done anything about it. They must have seen them when they were helping him shower. I was pretty upset about that. Otherwise the food is great, place is great and they're very kind to him. He doesn't' know where he is but that's okay; he didn't know where he was when he was at home either. He definitely is being taken care of. The place is practically brand new and I like the shared room set up.

My father reluctantly moved into Covell Gardens this month. He hated giving up living independently, but it was time to do so. He is surprisingly (to him) happy at CG. The staff is so friendly and cheerful and go out of their way to make sure that the residents have everything they need. I asked my dad if he had finished reading a book I loaned him - "sorry I've been to busy" was the wonderful answer.

Have been impressed with the facility overall. Very good staff.

It is very clean the staff does a good job keeping it clean and well maintained. The food here is excellent. They have lots of activities if the residents choose to participate. The staff worked very hard to try and make our loved one comfortable and welcomed. They assigned an "Ambassador" to help the new residents adjust to the community. They have been very understanding and they know how to work with the elderly. All the residents are smiling and relaxed it seems like they are happy.

It is a beautiful community. Our loved ones apartment has its own patio which is nice to just sit, relax and catch a breeze. They also have a community garden where they can relax and even help with it. We are pleased with Atria Willow Park and would recommend it to anyone.

My mother moved into Monarch Village within the last few months. My husband and I selected MV after reviewing several other properties. We are extreemly happy with our choice, as is my mother. Besides the large (as compared to other properties we saw) apt., we love the valet parking, and the "luxe" feel that they exude. The "yellow shirted" assistants. The training they receive to refer to the tenants by their last names. The "restaurant" approach to dining. They have really bent over backwards to be accomodating. And friendly. My only "gripe", is, as someone who is rather organic in her choices of foods and cleaning materials, as I believe in the health benifits, I wish that they were more on the bandwaggon. Guess that will be my "job" to "help them see the light"!

The staff at Atria Tamalpais Creek was very nice and helpful, they answered al of our questions. It's a nice place in a nice setting. We chose them over several other places because they are located a block from the public library. My mom was not particularly fond of all the food choices, but that may have been with any facility she was at. They did have to put some residents with the flu in quarantine, which caused them to cut back on activities and meal choices. Not that it was their fault, they responded appropriately, it just was part of our experience there. Otherwise, it was very nice and we were treated well, no complaints! (We are very grateful to A Place For Mom for all their help.)

We chose Carmichael Oaks based on all the things they had to offer, the price, and the location. They offer so many activities nearly everyday. They take them out once a week for a country ride and they constantly do run to the grocery store. They have a theatre on the grounds that play old movies but they also do trips to a theatre off the community so they can enjoy something more modern. The community is just very beautiful. We are glad they were conveniently located for our entire family. I would recommend this community to anyone.

We chose this community because it was close to home. We looked at a couple other communities in the area and this one was the best. I liked the staff and liked their approach on how to deal with Alzheimer. The community is smaller then the others and is able to provide a home like feeling while still being a secure community. The have a porch upstairs in the Alzheimer care unit that has a wonderful view of the San Juan Golf Course. Atria back up right to the gold course so it is a beautiful community. The cost is about $6,200 a month for Alzheimer care.

My dad will be moving in next week. He has memory issues so he won't be participating much in the activities but everytime I was there they had live music entertainment and I saw a whole group of people going out to a restaurant. We chose this community because it was close to home an it just felt right.
