A Place for Mom has scored Atlas Senior Living with 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 387 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Atlas Senior Living has 1,361 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.1 out of 5.
Over all it's been ok. They are nice and her room is nice. The staff has continually had issues getting her meds correct and mom needs to have me intercede to get her the right help. The wait time for assistance is no where near the 7 minute response time they touted. It's more like 10-15 minutes and sometimes multiple calls need to be made. They are also losing their director and changing primary care providers at the facility. The food seems to be good and their activities director is very nice and a great fit for his role. We will see how things go with the above mentioned issues.

The facility has some positive things about it. The management has changed quite a bit in the past year. There are some very dedicated employees there but they are understaffed. A new management company has taken over and things are improving. They are still under staffed however.

The food was excellent, Mom gained 4 pounds in 2 months. Overall the staff was very friendly just not able to deal with patients with dementia or smoking. Room was dirty when we moved in. No grab bars in the bathroom when moved in and took 2 weeks and 2 falls before installed. Medications were a disaster in timing as well as administered. PA on staff was incompetent and prescribed anti anxiety meds to be given when the patient asked for it. Seriously? Her cigarettes were monitored haphazard though Mom was not the most pleasant to deal with either.

There's a lot the could improve on (easy stuff). I could write a book. Too much to say over text. Bottom line is the care givers and facilities staff are slow to assist (appears they don't have enough staff), their process documentation is not current (maybe the new owners - Atlas will fix that) and it seems communication between the front desk, management and staff is almost nonexistent ( just my perspective) At this point I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as this is all new to me and I have nothing to compare Tribute to..... In our families experience, l would recommend this facility. Overall it's a nice community but there are some opportunities for very quick and easy improvement

For the first few months after he moved in, communications regarding billing and my father's medications were not optimal. They were not proactive I didn't receive a communication on a price increase which was significant. They contacted me in a panic when he didn't have refills left for one of his meds. My Dad has Alzheimer's and it seems they don't understand the disease and how it can manifest. They contact me with concerns that, to me, they should understand is part of the disease. Most of the staff are not very friendly. Only a couple of the staff has been helpful and openly communicative with me. That being said, the facility is clean and maintained and they generally do a good job of helping my father.

Based i on 2 months living here, I would give it no more than a 3. Management is very inconsistent and most of the time they are not very helpful. The facility is ok but has some built in problems that I would not want to deal with for very long. Two floods in the short time I have been here. Not really. Very unprofessional management and 2 floods since I moved in.

We selected the Goldton after doing some research and thought we had a good place for respite care. All was fine until my husband fell and tried to call for help using the pendant they provided that did not work. He ended up calling his daughter who called 911. I called and spoke with the administrator and she told me that they have problems with the pendants. After my husband was sent to the hospital she never called me. I was very disappointed with their response to the situation. I would not go there again.

Overall experience is somewhat lessened by dealing with residents who are decidedly NOT independent but placed within our realm. Other independent individuals interested in living here should know that all facilities are shared with SOME residents who should have assistance 24/7 and with other residents (AND their caretakers) who do have carers. All of these people take up space in the dining areas during limited dining hours. Also, a number of people dependent on wheelchairs or walkers live on the 2nd and 3rd levels of the building... what on earth would happen in a fire? Entrance, lobby, 1st floor main hall are all kept spotless by the loving concierges. All kitchen and restaurant facilities are immaculate as are the public restrooms. Carpets in traffic areas around the apartments get cleaned on a 3-month rotation schedule which needs to be a 3-week schedule instead of 3 months. Out-of-reach corners behind and under furniture in sitting areas need attention. Pool is kept clear and chemically balanced but has a "bathtub ring" above the water; the pool deck hasn't been swept for at least 3 weeks(there's something on the floor that's been there for at least that long). Maid service is shy of the mark. They were in here for 3 minutes last visit. New residents all comment on this and the speed at which they all learn and use one's name. They are always friendly. I am totally independent, requiring no real care. Administrative staff: many excuses but no results. ALL are very quick with an "I don't know" response when asked a question. VERY FRIENDLY, but nothing beyond the greeting. [name removed] is their saving grace... she was wonderful in the time leading up to my moving in. I don't eat it. The diet is very grain- and carb-heavy. Lots of bread, breading, fried foods, starches. A 5-entree choice remains for a month for dinner, one can choose sandwiches or other short-order items from the Bistro for lunch or dinner. So the facility lends itself to individual activities. There are also group activities that are not well attended. They have outside group activities like the Springer, different restaurants monthly. There is a bus for these activities which also takes residents to Publix and Wal-Mart once a week. Overall, I like the facility. Not sure the value is the same for everyone. So, bottom line, most of the value is there for me, but if I paid what some are paying, I would demand a higher quality food service and better cleanliness/hygiene levels. Right now, I can take care of myself in those two categories and the value comes in other areas.

It's been bumpier than expected. Their staffing issues and turnover are part of the problem. Staffing ratio isn't quite clear. We like that they don't nickel and dime you, and their payment structure isn't set on tiers of care, so we could decide if my parents could afford to stay long-term if their health allows. The facility is beautiful.

I'm not sure what to say, except it was a VERY expensive 2 weeks!!! My dad ended up having a stroke and I had to call them that my dad was incoherent on the phone...would someone please check on him....as it turned out, people may have already been in his room because it was med-pass-out time. There was also a continual problem in the 2 weeks of not treating Dad with dignity and respect in regards to his bathroom needs. A pull-up was overlooked in the laundry which caused a horrible mess on his clothes! Overall, the talk was good, but the help was not.

The HVAC must be redesigned. An inspection of it would show its serious shortcomings. Activities are weak and unappealing. Food is plentiful but frequently poorly presented and often not flavourful. Frequent turnover of staff is an issue. The personal alert system depends on the wi-fi system which is unreliable. Litter isn't removed from the flower and plant beds. Heavy and hard to open doors by elderly residents on rollators. Also, dining room chairs all need sliders on their legs to assist elderly residents in moving them to sit and to get up from the table.
