I was so impressed when I toured Thrive at Jones Farm. I really loved their outdoor spaces. It's so private and peaceful. We were able see the activities director hosting a painting class and the laughter we heard as we passed by made us smile. I know my grandmother isn't laughing like that at home alone and would Thrive in a community environment. What really stood out to me was we passed the new chef after introduction we continued on our tour. The chef came and found us and sent me and my mom home with a sweet treat. We both couldn't wait to get to the car to sample it. Unfortunately, we decided for my grandmother to live in Birmingham to be closer to family. However, I do recommend Thrive at Jones farm for anyone looking in North Alabama.

We loved our visit to the community. Everyone seemed so very friendly and happy. Beautiful building with very nice size apartments. Everything seemed very clean and well kept. We came during mealtime, and it smelled wonderful, and the residents seemed to be enjoying their lunch.

When walking into the community you immediately see lots of resident and activity happening in the building. You can see people laughing and enjoying themselves. All of the staff and residents spoke when we walked through. It was a pleasure to see such a warm inviting place. The Sales Director was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I attended a Fraud Seminar at Thrive at Jones Farm in September. All of the food was amazing but their Chicken Salad, (YUMMY) it was just like my grandmother's. (maybe even better). I can't wait to see what they prepare for their 5th Anniversary Celebration. I'm looking forward to it.

This was a nice community and my pick. However, it was too far for my loved ones.

This has been a great experience for us and our loved one. I do recommend that you stay proactive to make sure that your desires for care for your loved one are being met. The staff and kind, helpful, and caring towards the residents. There are three meals a day and the residents have choices to choose from. It would be nice to have the community meet more of individual dietary restrictions for the residents on a more consistent basis.

One of the biggest reason we picked Legacy Ridge is because of the activities, they are great - our loved ones previous community did not have much going on and here she really enjoys bingo, word games and the music. We have had a meal once there and it was pretty good and our loved one never complains about the meals. The value is great - the community is just a flat rate. They also have transportation here which is super nice, they can take the residents out to different stores and restaurant's. We think the resident counsel are the ones that make the decision on which restaurants to go to. The bus can also take the residents to their doctors appointments if that is something they need help with.

The facility when we visited based off of others we saw was light, airy and open. We also saw all of the residents out in the common areas socializing and being active. We were impressed with how the staff seems to get them out of their rooms. Everyone looks to be happy and friendly. The staff has been great. It has been a positive experience for our family and I would recommend Oakview Park to others.

My Mother is a current resident and the staff at Oakview Park are all amazing! They are all so kind and helpful! When you walk in you feel as though you are in an elegant apartment community, not an assisted living facility! Clean atmosphere, beautiful rooms and a ton of activities too!

The interaction with staff was very good. Lots of activities. The value for money is really good. A few reasons I picked this community is because, they were closer to my house, it was a brand new facilty, very clean, it is a good location, and they care for the residents very well.

It was a beautiful facility, and was a newer community.

Especially compared to the community we came from, my loved one is getting very good care at Heartis and overall is doing well. They made the transition extremely easy and a very good experience for us, and they have provided a lot of support and follow-up. The facility is very clean and very modern. The aesthetic is maybe a little sterile in the common areas and could be homier. But they have great attention to detail and follow-up.

This facility has been great so far. Mom loves it there. They do a great job keeping her busy and making it fun. Meals are good, no complaints. The staff is super nice and super friendly. Easy to get ahold of, communication is great. They have planned activities everyday morning and afternoon. They also send a calendar out so that you know what's coming up and what they're doing each day. Mom does really good here, they are equipped with hand rails and such to meet her needs. Housekeeping does a good job keeping things cleaned and stocked. I would recommend them!

So far so good. Oakview Park is a wonderful place. My mom has been there for almost 2 months she loves it. She is very happy there and that makes us happy. She enjoys her friends there, she enjoysThe activities there. The staff is wonderful, they’re always there to help with questions or concerns. We are so glad we picked this place for our mom.

Stopped by this community a few times to help with an event and they always seem to know how to have so much fun. Real fun. Music, laughing, making some good memories with some good people.

Madison Heights was wonderful. They are a great group of people. The executive director, the wellness director, and the sales director were all awesome and willing to work with us. They answered any questions we had and took phone calls as needed any time. They were very quick to respond to us. With extenuating circumstance with my father, they were very accommodating. They were very caring and made every effort for him to be able to come back to them. The care staff were very good as well. They were well trained, and they were really good about redirecting residents with dementia and trying to do other things before medicating a person, which meant a lot to us. My dad wasn't there long term, just a couple of months, but they were willing to take him back after his stay at a nursing home and to coordinate his care with hospice. They were amazing for us.

It appears that my mother gets excellent care. The only issue that I've had is getting her medications straightened out. They serve medications with med techs, and sometimes I don't think they know what they're doing. I know they have a shortage of staff. I've had several conversations with the director and head nurse, and things have improved since then. They are trying to get everything straightened out. My mother loves it there. She really enjoys the camaraderie with the other residents and the friendships she has made. She's no longer isolated and gets to interact with people her age. With activities, they haven't' been able to go on off-site activities. The bus has been broken down for months now and is still not back up and running. They do try to have things going on within the facility. for entertainment. I would definitely recommend Oakview Park to any family.

My loved one, has made friends, and the staff is very patient. The rooms are good sizes. Overall, the staff is very pleasant and helpful.

I toured The Bluffs at Greystone and it would have been my number one pick. I loved it, it was one of my favorites as it was only 15 minutes from my home. The community itself is beautiful, but from a cost standpoint I didn't know if my loved ones long-term care insurance would kick in to help with the cost.

My husband has been at Madison Heights for 2 months when he started losing weight. I kept asking what's the problem and why? They said he was just not eating, and they can't force him to. They said he'll says he's hungry, but he just won't eat. It turned out that the meals were kind of too fancy and they were serving things that he wasn't used to. I spoke to the nurse who asked what he liked to eat and I told them some things he's used to and the things he doesn't care for. She agreed to change his diet and give him the things he likes, and that has greatly improved. He's gained some of the weight back and she said she'd make sure he gets some Ensure or Boost to make sure he's getting enough nutrients and so forth. I also bought a case of Ensure to keep there to make sure he's eating enough, and that seemed to solve the problem. However, I was a little mystified and disappointed that they didn't notice it, as he had lost 40 pounds. When I brought it to their attention, they did take steps to fix it. I would tell others to talk to them as much as you can and share your concerns right away. If one person doesn't give you a satisfactory answer, go to someone else because I have not heard anything from them without me having to ask the questions first. They don't share what's really going on with him unless I'm asking about it first. There are some very excellent caring staff and people there. I have always received a very quick response from my initial contact [name removed], the Marketing Director. He has always been very responsive to whatever it is I've said. [name removed], who has since been promoted, she always went out of her way to be helpful. Overall I'm really happy that Madison Heights is where my husband is.
