Artis Senior Living

The staff at every level is competent and caring. They work well as a team, pitching in where ever help was needed. My only concern, although there was never an issue, is that, during the last year there was several major changes in staff leadership. It was worrisome, but the quality of care never suffered. Food is wholesome and prepared well. The selection of meals tends to repeat often. Stuffed shells and shrimp tend to be frequent dishes. Artis provides a good variety of activities for the residents every day. There are also special events activities for holidays throughout the year, birthday celebrations for residents, and regular live music programs throughout the year. The leaders of the activities encourage resident's visitors to participate. Artis is a good value because the facilities is clean, rooms are single resident occupied, there is spacious and attractive outdoor spaces and the staff works as a team for the safety and comfort of the residents for less cost than many facilities in the area

Great staff! It was the most kind staff. My mother was taken care of so well. I received daily texts from staff with pictures of mom. She was always clean and looked after. Everyone was so kind to her and me. We really made a wise decision to place her at Artis. please mention the gentle, loving care from [name removed], Nurse [name removed] and [name removed].

Alls 5's, we are so happy with Artis! All residents are memory care. Fairly small which is nice so everyone is close and knows everybody. New facility. Bright and clean.

I am just so impressed not only with the level of care but how everyone really knows us. They know my mom, but they also know me by name from the moment I walk in the door and I'm greeted by the concierge the cleaning staff the aids that work in the neighborhood, the activities team there's just so much affection and genuine respect for the residence and for the family members too And I don't get to visit my mom every day. I go maybe four times a week so if there's an activity happening and she is just really engaged and enjoying herself in it, the social worker will take a picture or a video and text it to me and I'm sure she does that for a lot of family members so it's just really amazing how much dedication they give to everyone.

The director is wonderful. Very helpful. Kind and knowledgeable. We felt lucky to have found her.

All are 5 , Artis is amazing. The care the staff the activities. Rooms are a comfortable size for 1 person with their own private bathroom. Pluses you can bring your own furnishings if you want and decorate to personal taste. Rooms are kept clean by staff on a daily basis. Meals always smell good and look great. My father in law has also commented on how good the food is at Artis. They also have snacks and juice available anytime and the residents can help themselves if they wish or a staff member can assist if needed.

24 hour nursing and memory care. Nice location. Lovely courtyard for visiting. Staff are terrific and kind. They really get to know the families.

I am just going to keep it easy. 5 on all from my family's perspective. It's a great facility. They have good communication with families, large and accessible out door space, dedicated only to Memory Care which provides some unique benefits in facility lay out and approach

Very attentive clean and everyone is nice. Rooms very spacious. Food is excellent and activities are great Christmas party was amazing .and Valentines Day was good .everything is wonderful.

Of all the facilities I looked at, Artis had all the things that would benefit my wife. She is able to get outside and walk, the quality of care is great. They have many activities to keep them occupied and nursing care is wonderful and helpful.

The staff have all been amazing through the entire process. They will keep us posted regarding events and activities along with pictures, videos and updates. They have continued to be there for me if I have any questions. Artis Senior Living has been the right choice for my Aunt!!!

My husband has been at Artis of Chestnut Ridge for about [time frame removed], and it suits him well. It's small, not at full capacity, all on one floor with 4 "neighborhoods", each with their own living room(tv) and eating area. [name removed] can walk all around in and out of the neighborhoods and feel perfectly safe. The staff here knows all the residents as well as the family members. I live close so I'm there almost every day. The meals are wonderful with at least 2 choices. My husband's dementia is now significant as well as his mobility, but the staff pays attention to the changes. I do feel though, there is not enough communication between the dr who comes once a week but not always on the same day and the family. Sometimes it's hard to find out exactly what care is being carried out. You have to be vigilant. Nothing is ever perfect, but I'm glad, after seeing many facilities, I chose Artis which caters only to memory care.

5 for all. It's been very good across the board. The staff is exceptionally good and caring. Facility is well planned and maintained. We would definitely recommend this community to other families based on our experience so far.

I would give all 5's. My wife has settled in nicely. Good communication between myself and staff. At two months everything is going well.

Artis is just what we needed for my 96 year old mother. It's clean, the people are all Kind and helpful and I fee that they really care. It's a difficult time of life to manage and they do it well so that I do. Don't have to worry. I can have my life and know that my mother is taken care of. Also, they fulfill promises, no bait and switch like other places. It's a great place for those in need of memory care and other elderly issues.

The abundance and quality of the activities for the residents is amazing. The food is very good. The caregivers are exceptional. There is an open line of communications with the staff.

Artis Senior Living has been a godsend for me. My brother is always clean, his room is always clean, and the staff makes sure he participates in activities. The staff are wonderful and very communicative, calling me frequently with updates on him during his first month there and anytime something unusual happens thereafter. The atmosphere is very warm and intimate, not institutional. I highly recommend this facility if memory care is needed.

What we like the most about Artis Senior Living is the friendliness and care of the staff. Cleanliness of the home. Activities for patients.

I appreciate how they encourage me to ask them anytime how my mother is doing and that they have taken so much off my plate that I didn't have as well at her other home. Although my mother isn't socializing as much as I would like her to, I am thankful for the genuine friendliness that the staff has given me.
