Artis Senior Living

I toured Artis Senior Living of West Shore, and it was a nice community. It was setup like a little condominium. The surrounding area is a good one, but the location wasn't a good fit for our family.

We had a great tour experience with Artis Senior Living. The staff were all nice and did a great job discussing the services provided and how their staff operate. We liked that it was a facility that only focuses on Alzheimer's and dementia, but we found one a little closer that fit our needs better.

This is a nice place. I don't have any regrets having my loved one here. 90% of the staff are really nice to work with. My loved one doesn't complain about the food. My loved one is enjoying the activities. The community provides an activities calendar to the residents.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good experience, but walking in we just did not have that overwhelming sense that this was the place for our father.

Artis is a beautiful, brand new facility. I do think it would be better suited for someone who did not need as much care. My loved one needed an age in place facility and they could not accommodate our level of care.

This is a caring and responsive community for your loved one. They try really hard to take care of all of the residents at this community. They have activities like cooking classes, arts and crafts, bingo, and music for the residents to keep busy and stay active. The staff are in general very good, the weekend however, can be kind of spotty.

They have many activities for the residents. The staff are always thinking of fun things to do and it brings great joy to the residents. The activities staff are exceptional and make everyone feel welcome.

Artis of Chestnut Ridge is a brand new facility, and has a really family orientated atmosphere. We really liked that fact that there are only 16 rooms per each wing and each wing has their own dining room, living room and porches. They also have a big main area where everyone can come together, and if you meet people on another wing or in the main area you can eat at their dining room. It is just great for those with memory issues, and the staff are wonderful.

They just opened the community for visitors so we have not had any of the meals, but the feedback our loved one has given us is that the food is pretty good, almost like being on vacation. They have nice activities and we can see pictures of our loved one participating. The staff do a good job keeping them engaged and really getting to know things they enjoy. This community focuses strictly on memory care which is nice and the residents can "walk freely" around the community. The value for cost is a flat rate that goes up depending on the care your loved one may need. Artis Senior Living has created a safe environment for our loved one.

I would make sure that you get the full details of what they will and will not handle of the resident, especially during the assessment. The head nurse left to go to another community. All the staff are fine to work with.

Our experience has been pretty limited due to the pandemic, and with our loved one being in memory care they do have their challenged but the staff is very good with dealing with our loved one. They are very responsive, helpful, and always willing to answer our questions. Right now there are not a lot of residents, they are not at full capacity so we can only assume our loved one is getting really good care.

We chose Artis Senior Living because they specialized in memory care and it opens the entire community to the residents instead of just having one wing, they are less restrictive and have more mobility. My aunt is in a private room. The staff are very accommodating and welcoming to her. I would recommend to others looking.

I felt like we were going to get more compassionate care but it was more just going through the motions. Communication was pretty good and they kept us informed. I would recommend this community to others. I think a better value than most communities in the area.

We chose Onley Assisted Living because of the living accommodations, the location, and the value for the money. They were very mindful of him and what he liked and did not like. They kept us up to date by e-mail and the families have a weekly zoom call which was very helpful. I would highly recommend to others looking.

The staff are very friendly. The common areas are very clean. They seem to care for my mom. No one has ever been rude to me or my mom. The communication is as good as can be. I am able to have face time/virtual calls with my mom to see her. They are starting to allow visits in person in a common area.

We chose this facility because they seemed very thorough in their face-time presentation, they walked us through the rooms and facility. We also like the fact it is all one floor and are no stairs. They seem to always be doing something activities wise but I do wish my mom had more physical therapy. I have heard nothing but good things about the meals that they provide. Covid has posed unusual challenges during our experience with Artis Senior Living. I feel for what we pay, they could definitely offer better provisions for visiting. We were a little misled because it was beginning of covid and we were never told you could not have inside visits on weekends. Overall, I really would recommend it. It is a very clean place and the grounds are beautiful. It would be a whole different scenario if it weren't for covid.

It is an okay place. It's not easy to work with the nursing staff and get information about my loved one. It sometimes takes a call back to get the answers I need.

The rooms at the community are relatively small, however they are updated and all of them have nice windows. Our loved one is in memory care so the room size is perfect for him.

I have never been able to go inside the Artis Senior Living since she has moved in here. It is a newer facility and it is all on one floor which is great for residents with memory issues. The staff members have been very good with communication which is nice since we have not been able to go inside the facility, they are very helpful. I have no negative things to say about the facility and would recommend it to others who are looking.

The staff at Artis Senior Living are extremely friendly, it is clean and we felt comfortable leaving our loved one there. The rooms were very nicely appointed, and we would recommend this community to a family or friend.
