Artis Senior Living

I felt like we were going to get more compassionate care but it was more just going through the motions. Communication was pretty good and they kept us informed. I would recommend this community to others. I think a better value than most communities in the area.

We chose Onley Assisted Living because of the living accommodations, the location, and the value for the money. They were very mindful of him and what he liked and did not like. They kept us up to date by e-mail and the families have a weekly zoom call which was very helpful. I would highly recommend to others looking.

The staff are very friendly. The common areas are very clean. They seem to care for my mom. No one has ever been rude to me or my mom. The communication is as good as can be. I am able to have face time/virtual calls with my mom to see her. They are starting to allow visits in person in a common area.

We chose this facility because they seemed very thorough in their face-time presentation, they walked us through the rooms and facility. We also like the fact it is all one floor and are no stairs. They seem to always be doing something activities wise but I do wish my mom had more physical therapy. I have heard nothing but good things about the meals that they provide. Covid has posed unusual challenges during our experience with Artis Senior Living. I feel for what we pay, they could definitely offer better provisions for visiting. We were a little misled because it was beginning of covid and we were never told you could not have inside visits on weekends. Overall, I really would recommend it. It is a very clean place and the grounds are beautiful. It would be a whole different scenario if it weren't for covid.

It is an okay place. It's not easy to work with the nursing staff and get information about my loved one. It sometimes takes a call back to get the answers I need.

The rooms at the community are relatively small, however they are updated and all of them have nice windows. Our loved one is in memory care so the room size is perfect for him.

I have never been able to go inside the Artis Senior Living since she has moved in here. It is a newer facility and it is all on one floor which is great for residents with memory issues. The staff members have been very good with communication which is nice since we have not been able to go inside the facility, they are very helpful. I have no negative things to say about the facility and would recommend it to others who are looking.

The staff at Artis Senior Living are extremely friendly, it is clean and we felt comfortable leaving our loved one there. The rooms were very nicely appointed, and we would recommend this community to a family or friend.

We chose this facility originally because we thought the place was for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. It is great if the person is able to move around and they can still function, my mother had a hard time. The facility is larger and I think people with dementia need smaller facilities with more individualized care. The less patients you have the better off you will be. There were too many residents here and not enough help.

The problems for my loved one in this community was my loved one thought wanted more people to speak to about his interest. The upper staff was great. The floor staff and us had a tough time at communication for my loved one and what was needed for my loved one. The nurse was great. The activity coordinator tried to get my loved one to participate in activities. The community is brand new. The exercise part of the community was based on videos and not a live instructor. Each wing had their own wing for dining, and kept the groups small.

It is a new facility. It is a very pleasant place to be. There is a certain level of independence. My aunt loves the food. The room sizes are nice. My aunt has a single. The layout is very nice. They have a lovely dining room. They have a lovely courtyard. They have a comfortable lounge area. They also have a bar/ party room that residents can reserve.

I was overall pretty happy with Artis, although I wish they had offered a little more one on one time with my mother. I would recommend the place for those looking for lighter levels of care for their loved ones. They did have activities available for the residents although it didn't seem like they were encouraging her to go very much. Occasionally, I would be in the living room with the residents and the care partners and there didn't seem to be much effort on the part of the care partners to engage with the residents or get to know them. I thought the food was ok. In the dinning room, I didn't see the staff washing their hands or washing the residents' hands. The community itself is very nice and as a whole, pretty clean. I thought they could have done a little bit of a better of a job cleaning my mother's individual room, however. When I did bring things to the staff's attention, they were pretty good about addressing my concerns and making changes, however temporary.

Artis is a new place, they try very hard. They have a caring staff. It was not a good fit for my dad. He was higher functioning than other residents. He had a hard time finding any type of peer group.For the right resident it would be a good community. My dad was not ready for that level of care.

Like the concept and the more homey feeling. A better idea for Alzheimers patients. Residents were involved in activities available.

[names removed] were excellent hosts; we appreciated the information they had to share and the time they spent with us. Unfortunately, the resident rooms in the memory care unit are too small for my Mom. And although the activities, ratio of staff to residents, and food all seems to be very good, I just didn't think my Mom could adjust to such a small living space.

Great location. Beautiful common areas and nice sized rooms. Still ramping up and only 17 residents as of [date removed] so difficult to assess programming and how residents utilize the space but a very nice option if your loved one wants to be in an urban environment.

Aides could use more training in understanding Alzheimer's and how to handle it, but are trained well in general care giving. Other facilities may boast the same amenities but this facility actually follows through and does what they say.

Facility is new + clean. Staff is friendly. Planned activities seem to keep residents engaged. Feel that the number of staff in the “neighborhoods” is unsufficient to monitor residents.
