Artis Senior Living

The problems for my loved one in this community was my loved one thought wanted more people to speak to about his interest. The upper staff was great. The floor staff and us had a tough time at communication for my loved one and what was needed for my loved one. The nurse was great. The activity coordinator tried to get my loved one to participate in activities. The community is brand new. The exercise part of the community was based on videos and not a live instructor. Each wing had their own wing for dining, and kept the groups small.

It is a new facility. It is a very pleasant place to be. There is a certain level of independence. My aunt loves the food. The room sizes are nice. My aunt has a single. The layout is very nice. They have a lovely dining room. They have a lovely courtyard. They have a comfortable lounge area. They also have a bar/ party room that residents can reserve.

I was overall pretty happy with Artis, although I wish they had offered a little more one on one time with my mother. I would recommend the place for those looking for lighter levels of care for their loved ones. They did have activities available for the residents although it didn't seem like they were encouraging her to go very much. Occasionally, I would be in the living room with the residents and the care partners and there didn't seem to be much effort on the part of the care partners to engage with the residents or get to know them. I thought the food was ok. In the dinning room, I didn't see the staff washing their hands or washing the residents' hands. The community itself is very nice and as a whole, pretty clean. I thought they could have done a little bit of a better of a job cleaning my mother's individual room, however. When I did bring things to the staff's attention, they were pretty good about addressing my concerns and making changes, however temporary.

Artis is a new place, they try very hard. They have a caring staff. It was not a good fit for my dad. He was higher functioning than other residents. He had a hard time finding any type of peer group.For the right resident it would be a good community. My dad was not ready for that level of care.

Like the concept and the more homey feeling. A better idea for Alzheimers patients. Residents were involved in activities available.

[names removed] were excellent hosts; we appreciated the information they had to share and the time they spent with us. Unfortunately, the resident rooms in the memory care unit are too small for my Mom. And although the activities, ratio of staff to residents, and food all seems to be very good, I just didn't think my Mom could adjust to such a small living space.

Great location. Beautiful common areas and nice sized rooms. Still ramping up and only 17 residents as of [date removed] so difficult to assess programming and how residents utilize the space but a very nice option if your loved one wants to be in an urban environment.

Staff is wonderful, caring and helpful.

Aides could use more training in understanding Alzheimer's and how to handle it, but are trained well in general care giving. Facility is new + clean. Staff is friendly. Planned activities seem to keep residents engaged. Feel that the number of staff in the “neighborhoods” is unsufficient to monitor residents.

My mom has only lived here a week. We are still adjusting to the new living arrangements so I can’t really give a complete review. They definitely made the tour and move in very easy. We had a very quick tour around from tour to move in, only a week.

Artis does a wonderful job to serve each resident and their specific needs. The residents are treated with respect and love. Terrific outings. The parlor does a great job on the needs of every person.

I am pleased with the total care. Personal care is excellent. Activities are varied and are conducted for several hours each day. The staff is very caring.

Weekends need to be monitored more. Some get lax in care.

I think overall Artis is a good facility. The staff is friendly and helpful and seem concerned for the patients. They are also kind and considerate to family members. The building is attractive and well kept, but also has a nice homey feeling. My biggest concern is the fact that caregivers are shuffled from unit to unit. I understand this will occur from time to time. However, patients with dementia need continuity. All in all I am happy with Artis and feel content with my loved one residing here.

I enjoyed my tour of this community. It is a nice facility with kind people. I toured it for my mother, and her needs. My tour went well. The community looked nice from what I saw. The staff I met was helpful, and my questions were answered. The only issue I had was there was not any showers in the rooms, and I didn't think this would be the right fit for my mother.

Artis is managed by females, who are more attuned to the care needs of others, in my opinion, than males (disclosure: I am male). Staff are well trained and friendly at all levels. It is clean and odorless. Staff welcomes the input and feedback of family members, and builds a program for each resident that reflects his or her interests and personality.[Removed]

Our tour of this community went well. The community appeared to nice, and clean from what we saw. The staff we met was polite, and friendly. Our questions were answered. Everyone was kind to my family, and I.

This place is new and absolutely beautiful. I really liked how Artis Senior Living is setup in small communities to make staying their feel like home. Everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately we could not place my family member there. They said they would not be able to accommodate the level of care.
