Artis Senior Living

I liked this community a lot. The one draw back was that I did not like the accommodations. The room itself was really tiny and sterile feeling. The lady I met with was very confident and knowledgeable but I just felt like the accommodations were very stark.

This was a nice community, and they had a gym and more. I wouldn't mind going here if it was me. But for my loved one another community worked better.

Having the outdoor area is very nice. The rooms are always clean and the food is adequate. Staff is friendly and seem to care. No imagination in activities. They do not try to tailor the activities to the functional or interest level of the individuals. Not enough aides to help residents with activities or even bring the residents to the activities. Very little encouragement for the residents to be more engaged. There is a "let them be" attitude. Maybe that is what some people think is the best. But I believe the more people are engaged the happier they will be.

There were some initial issues with medication scheduling. Two medications that were prescribed for bedtime were changed to the afternoon and had to be corrected. During an early visit, the bathroom had a noticeable odor and the floor was sticky, which required staff to be asked to clean it. On a later visit, the room floor was still not clean and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. The staff has been friendly and helpful overall, but given the cost, these basic issues were unexpected.

The room size. is just ok. She is not eating well and should be given a supplement drink when portion of food is not finished and not always happens. The activities are somewhat stimulating for her. The staff is nice and generally knows patient by name

Just a heads up to any prospective new residents - family members and friends are not permitted to eat in the main dining area(s) with their loved ones. If we had known this when we were looking for a place for my father, we would have went elsewhere!! On a positive note, the staff are truly compassionate and caring!

The facility is nice but the food isn't that great. The people are nice but there is a lot of turnover. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

For the $[removed] a month it costs, an amazing amount of things are not provided for the residents. No wheelchairs or walkers. No soap, shampoo, depends, etc. There is very very little exercise or physical activity and no actual physical therapy. There is no TV or radio in the rooms. Disabled residents do not ever get outside unless a family member takes them out for a push in the back yard. Laundry is done once a week at best, so the residents need at least 3 weeks of clothes to get by. Laundry labels are not provided. Other residents clothes showed up in her room all the time. Her eyeglasses were frequently misplaced or broken (she had angry outbursts regularly) Any found glasses went into a bag one nurse kept and were never returned until I made a fuss, at which point 3 of her pairs appeared. The rooms were not really secure, and left unlocked when she had to go to hospital several times. At the end the staff "lost" her rented wheelchair and all its accessories simply by taking it to the basement and not telling anyone. This is a mid to late stage memory care home, where dementia patients live out their last months. It's not a nursing home. So maybe none of this matters. But I found the room staff to be rather slack, though they were always nice to me. And they did keep her clean and dry. Her last months of life were very stressful for me so maybe Im being too sensitive. Overall I give the place a B-.

My father was in the memory care unit. They didn't provide the necessary supervision to manage the unit. The direct care staff were kind, and helpful, but the overall supervision was not properly staffed/managed to match the needs of the unit. Only recommended for higher functioning people. Lots of great activities and very pleasant environment with good food. Not good fur higher needs individuals.

Most of the care givers and administrative staff were very friendly and kind people. The main areas of the facility were well-kept and clean. My mom's room was always dirty, floor not swept, bathroom not clean, dried feces on toilet, floor etc. They were supposed to clean the room and personal bathroom 2x per week but that isn't enough when you have dementia patient who has issues with hygiene and cleanliness. These types of facilities are extremely over priced and Artis Senior Living is no exception. Within the first year our monthly rate increased by [fee removed]. Per month (not per year)

Extremely high turnover of employees. Inability to spend significant time and attention on individual patient issues. My and became a high fall risk. They were simply unable to attend to the care needed to avoid falls. Significant turnover of nurses and administration. And executive directors. I do not recommend because of high staff turnover turnover of executive directors, critical nurse personnel and other administration and management, lack of attention to high end, care, etc.

These scores are overall scores. Of course they are going to vary on a day by day basis as well as the staff you deal with. There are some staff members who are EXCEPTIONAL!!! Always go above and beyond. As far as places go - I think Artis is top notch - of course there is always room for improvement

People/ friends have asked me.... I said it was " great"...I like this area! I like the LakeView area.

Everyone is very nice, patient, and helpful at Artis Senior Living of Evesham. Overall, my loved one's experience at this facility has been pretty good. The housekeeping is good, linens are clean. The move in was easy. I would recommend this facility to family and friends, except that the provider that sees the residents never calls the family to give updates.

What we like most about the Artis Senior Living of Mason is the staff team. They are very kind and friendly. I would like to see his personal care be better. I would also like to see more outings, but overall it has been a good place for my dad. However based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

The facility is clean. The care seems decent but I know it's very hard to find top-of-the-line care people I've met are kind I live in California and it is in Chicago so I don't spend a ton of time there.

I have no idea what the food tastes like and my mother can never remember what she eats. I have concerns with the facility doctor billing unnecessary blood tests. I have cancelled all future physical therapy visits because I have no idea what they do and my mother can't recall ever attending a session. I requested some Kleenex for my mother's room and it still was not delivered after one week. Her laundry basket disappeared the first week she moved in and has never been recovered. Have no idea how her laundry is processed! She is missing shoes. Tells me today that someone else was in her bed awhile back. There is a great lack of communication between your employees keeping me informed of my mother's life and needs.

Artis is a good size community. It has a great location. They have a different way to deal with memory care residents in assisting in interacting with each other. This a good value. They are supposed to be assisting with medication management, housekeeping, bathing, and more for my loved one. Trivia, exercises, and more are some of the activities available for the residents to choose from.

In the beginning there was a lot of personal attention given to our loved one, the staff were very good at keeping up constant communication, and the food was very nutritious. However after awhile covid did impact a lot of things, the communication started to change, there was a big lack between the staff and residents, and staff to the families. We would get conflicted information from the hospital workers and the community staff which was a concern, and we ended up having mixed feelings and loosing trust. We understand it was a difficult time for everyone, but you just have to make sure you are there all the time.

I felt my loved one was not quite ready for the care that they provide at Artis. It atmosphere felt gloomy to me. No matter what type of care you need, everyone is all together. It was just not the right fit, but may be a great fit for some people!
