Artis Senior Living

I think the staff(most of them) genuinely care about the residents. We are there every day and see what the staff has to do and we appreciate them. The facility is clean for the most part. The food is decent. Not outstanding but "OK". Yes, if some one was asking, I would recommend this facility.

The value for cost depends on your resident-it can be borderline priceless. Food for the money or any money is bad, they can engage a little more the non active residents with games , busy blankets etc. but if your loved one suffers from dementia it's great .

My mother has passed. Our family had a very positive experience there. The staff were so caring. My Mom was there for only 5 months and it was during the winter early spring months that prohibited her from enjoying the outdoor experiences. I was there for limited time, a few hours each week where my sister was visiting about 3-4 times a week for multiple hour stays. There was some turnover in administration at that time, especially the lack of an entertainment coordinator. We often found our visits were just walking around the halls with Mom. A Place for Mom was very caring and helpful in us discovering Artis just at the right time as my Mom's dementia illness was getting worse and she could no longer stay at her Assisted Care Facility.

The director [name removed] is pretty accessible when there are problems. The staff seems nice. They could use more staff and things could be cleaner. They also run out of stuff and misplace things.

We chose Artis Senior Living of Somers because it was close to our house, they offered private rooms, and the facility itself was very clean. I definitely recommend Artis to those looking for memory care.

We chose Artis because of the Excellent RN, Director and Activity Director. They allowed my Aunt to live as she wished. The nurse, [name removed]is awesome! [name removed] is lovely and [name removed] in the front office has been great too!

My mother is currently a resident at Artis Senior Living of Lakeview and we are very happy with the place. The staff and my mother have both adjusted well. We are satisfied that this was the right place for her.

Artis was so welcoming when our family member moved in. Everybody had a smile and a kind word and knew his name. We are very pleased with care and if things come up that need some work, the staff is very responsive to our feedback. We feel very good about our decision to move him to Artis.

My loved one is a resident at Artis Senior Living of Evesham and the experience has been very good for her so far. I would recommend this facility to others.

Very pleasant and helpful facility and very family oriented. The room could be a little more spacious and the amenities are good.

Location good. If patient can take advantage of all of the activities, then you get more of your moneys worth. My mother can't. She's too far gone. She's got hospice. It is not a nursing home so we have somebody visiting her every day and helping her. However, it is for dementia patients and I don't think they're staffed up enough to help all the patients. They're very expensive too very very clean rooms are nice if you can afford it it's worth it.

My brothers visited this after we'd seen some others. They liked the set-up, the amount of activity & proximity. With what we've experienced so far, I think we'd recommend Artis.

Artis is very welcoming and is homey. Staff is approachable. I only looked at 2 places. Artis was picked over the other one because of its size and the atmosphere.

My wife and ended up having to do basically all of her father's showering and hygiene care for 8 months. There was some progress last month. We both regularly wipe urine from the bathroom floor, clean a filthy toilet seat, and return dishes and food from in-room meals to the kitchen. We did not expect to have to do this. We picked Aryis because it was new, 4 miles from our house, and in our price range.

As with many congregant living, personal care homes, turnover is high among the newest direct-care hires. The more senior care-providers love the residents and are dedicated to providing great care. They often accept multiple shifts and/or overtime to ensure that residents get the care they need. The facility is laid out in a way that is ideal for residents who like to walk. In warmer weather the outdoor courtyard and porches are especially nice.

They helped my mom out a lot. And was even able to come back home. They were able to figure out it was more medical induced dementia. Been home for almost a year! I do recommend them but better for more severely memory problems. Mom wasn't as bad off as others there. And she never fit in. Mom was better fitted for a retirement community. They also charge for her for the highest level of care even though she wasn't. Which was fair. Even if it was a vitamin or aspirin, it was added to meds so they could charge the highest price for stay.

My loved one was previously a resident at Artis Senior Living of Davie and everything about his experience at this facility was very good. The staff was great. Everyone was very nice and attentive to my loved one and his needs. The cleanliness was very good. The food was good. My loved one didn't really participate in the activities, but they seemed good. Artis Senior Living of Davie is very nice, I would recommend it highly for dementia and Alzheimer's.

What we like the most about the Artis Senior Living of Lexington community is the cleanliness, it is spotless. We also like the surrounding grounds - it is open and the grounds are great. However the daily grooming has been somewhat inconsistent. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

The facility is nicely laid out. Residents have plenty of opportunities to change their environment if they want without getting lost. All the management staff know all the residents by name and assist with anything that is needed. I like that they are hands on and not isolated in their offices. All the residents appear appropriately dressed and groomed. There are activities for residents all day but they are allowed to opt out if they aren't interested. It was critical for me that there was a range of residents from pretty high functioning to not. I ruled out many other places that were geared more to lower functioning individuals because my person needed to be around people who could walk and talk reasonably well at her time of admission. I'm a little disappointed in the responsiveness of staff to address issues that are not immediately critical. I hope this improves.
