My Uncle loved here for about 2 years before we moved him. Very small facility, limited staffing levels and only one room for eating, recreation and anything else they do. Outside area is disgusting , backs up to the railroad so very noisy and dirty. Look elsewhere ,you won't regret it. Owners hire cheap labor and you get what you pay for in this case.

Sadly my Dad was a resident here for almost a year. He passed away due to getting sepsis from a wound that was never cleaned or looked after by the incompetent staff. Do not place your loved one here.

My uncle was here and passed a away last month due to catching the coronavirus. The family was never notified that he was even sick and he was never even sent to the hospital to see if there was a chance to save him. Just another case of a facility covering up the deaths from the virus. I have reported this to NYS DOH but they are overwhelmed with the amount of complaints they are getting.

I visited here several times with my cousin whose mom was living here. I hated to see my aunt in such a dirty smelly nlfilthy place and was so glad when my aunt was moved to a much nicer place and now i feel compelled to let others know that there are much better places out there clearly understaffed no activities place always smells and definitely needs an updating of the common areas.

This is a very small facility which is why I place my mom here,thinking she would receive more personal care. I was very wrong. Understaffed and the workers are overwhelmed trying to attend to just basic needs of residents. No activities whatsoever despite having an activities director. Most residents just sit around and stare into space all day. Areas smell of feces and urine and looking at the residents they need some one to address their cleaniness. We moved mom back home with us and hired an aide to be with her.

I recently toured this facility twice , before the lockdown in March , before writing this reveiw. Both times I showed up unannounced and asked for a tour first time the administrator wasn't there and a worker showed me the dining room and living room both disgustingly fithly and smelly. Second visit the admin was there but completely unprepared and off the script for the tour. Residents all need much needed looking after ,which clearly isn't happening here. Go back into Glen Cove and pick a facility to there!

My father was a resident at this facility for 2 years , it was so bad that I had to hire private aides to take care of him because he was so neglected here. Minimal staffing levels and extremely high staff turnover rate. He was moved to a much nice facility in Suffolk county for almost the same price. Most residents appear to be over medicated and slumped over in their chairs.

This place is very run down, small rooms with a half bath shared by three residents. Residents have to use community showers. The courtyard is very messy with broken furniture. The furniture inside was worn. The staff was nice. There are nicer communities in the area like the Regency and Harbor House, which we are going to consider instead.

This place needs an overhaul. First of all, I thought I was going to lose a tire in the parking lot. Holes everywhere. Once inside, it was very dark and not updated. Dining room had old furniture that looked like it needed repair. Rooms were Hospital-like- not cozy. Very limited activities, odors from incontinent residents.

We were very disappointed when we came for the tour. This place needs a lot of work. The outside parking lot has deep holes and even the grounds were not cared for. The inside is very dark and not very inviting at all. The residents seemed very frail. They were not lot of activities when we were there and we didn’t see too many staff either which was concerning. The calendar looked very sparse with a lot of bingo and songs.We are going to look at other places, this one just doesn’t seem like the right place for my mom. It’s a shame, because it could be nice if they took care of it.

We went on a tour. Staff seemed nice enough but place was very run down and the place stunk. People living there looked more like nursing home residents and were just sitting around and not doing anything. I wasn’t impressed and will be looking at other places.

Poor excuse for an assisted living facility. The odor is horrendous and the whole place is falling apart. I’m looking into other places to move my mom. I’m so sorry I moved her here. The rehab she was in was better than this dump. I guess you get what you pay for.

This is a very run down community. Activities are limited and remedial. It’s more like a nursing home. No trips to speak of except maybe once a week from what I could see on their calendar. The rest was bingo and songs. I found it very dark and depressing and everything was old and worn. The parking lot was a nightmare and really needs addressing. There were huge potholes everywhere. Residents were just sitting in a big room for the activities and most were slumped in their wheelchairs. Rooms were depressing and shared with no privacy. They looked like hospital rooms. For the price they ask they should offer more. There’s much better out there. I wouldn’t recommend.

My dad is in this facility and we are actively looking to remove him . This place over medicates the residents just to keep them sitting around in their wheelchairs. No activities to speak of. The photos shown do not accurately depict the true picture of the place.

Food stinks, dirty, Med tech speaks rude to the patients, Patients smells and put to bed early to not deal with them. No activity but sit in front of tv.

Staff never says hello and there is a high turnover. Not too clean always smells . My uncle is here for 3 years and it has gone downhill for sure.

My aunt is a resident here for 2 years , it is short staffed for sure and not the cleanest place. The activities are lacking especially on the weekends. Mostly the residents just seem to sit around and sleep. But due to the price that's why she's living here.

This was a horrible experience for mom. Mom's room was always smelling and not cleaned. The nurses were not able to take care of mom properly. Mom needed a higher level of care. They had very limited activities for the residents to do. Yet, they would not let the residents go to there rooms. Everyone had to participate all day. We even brought in our own aide and they were rude to her.

I have nothing positive to say about Sutton Gardens Assisted Living. I had to have emergency respite for 14 days for my mom. When I came to pick her up her legs and feet were double the size. She was taking medication for chf. They should have known something was wrong. I took her straight to the emergency room. We found out they weren't giving her the right medication. The nurse should have noticed something and done something about it. They have people sitting around with pee on themselves or water on them here also. Never again will I sent my mom here.

This place is a DUMP! Don't waste your time visiting!
