American Senior Communities

Very involved and friendly staff at all levels. They've also been extra supportive of Mom since my Dad just passed. They want residents to be happy and involved. The food is often cold when served and my mom has limited offerings since she's lactose intolerant. Sometimes it's a winner though!

It has trailed off lately so I may change my answer but they were really on top of her meds / care and in turn kept me informed. I'm hoping it's just a no news is good news

My loved one was previously a resident at Coventry Meadows Assisted Living and Garden Homes and the overall experience was very good. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The staff and care services were good. I would recommend this facility to others.

The facility is pretty quiet. There are plenty of activities but it is a pretty mellow group of caregivers and residents. They could offer a few more choices on food. If you are having something like hotdogs or sausage as your main. It is not great that your only alternative is hamburger. As far as activities go - More crafts. Maybe try to use other areas of the building when possible. The activity room is not warm and inviting.

Some of the staff are personable; a few are not. The DON doesn't respond to my inquiries. Two sisters clean the apartments. They are friendly and respectful and do a nice job. Dining hall servers are helpful and caring. I think the food could be better, but Mom and other residents enjoy it. Servings are small, but seconds can be requested or one may order a lot of side dishes. Move in was simple as mom's apartment has an outside door. Communication is with me, since mom takes no responsibility for herself. I recommend the Assisted living facility to others.

The washing machine and dryer in the units could be better quality. Overall I would recommend them to others.

Negatives include: no flexibility regarding food offerings and what seems excessive in entry level staff turnover. Many other staff have long tenure which is impressive. Communication could be a LOT better The building is older so it's harder to make it look shiny. Outdoor geese leave their marks on parking lot and driveways. I recommend learning the names of the staff who serve your loved one. Nursing staff good to alert me to incidents. My mom is very positive, friendly and funny so that probably helps to encourage her caregivers. I only see a minor dementia issue. Mom likes simple foods (not combinations) without adornment. Mostly meat, potatoes and fruits. This kitchen cannot or will not give her the food she wants. We supplement with bananas and healthy snacks but she is still losing weight- not unusual (I'm told) for her 96 years in age. Activities are plentiful if somewhat simple. But mom feels like she's missing out if she's not with other residents in the community room. It's expensive but not excessive. My Mom is in Memory Care One (part of the Assisted Living group- mostly those with a flight risk) as there is also a Memory Care Two at American Village which is unusual (the two levels).

The nurses have been great. Had some issues with house cleaners, hopefully now is resolved. My Dad is a pretty picky eater and he seems happy with the meals. I would recommend this facility to others.

I think it is a good place, but I would make extra sure that everything was actually ready and ask for proof if the issues were quite important. They do have a good communication it with ways to get to know other residents in independent housing. The maintenance men are very nice! Price is a major reason Rosegate was chosen, but it was a little more than another place. We chose to pay a little more because of the community. It was worth it!

Meals and dining value and cost the care. One floor one story he came from a three-story home so much safer. I live a distance away so I can check on him at any time through the office. He's 96 so he doesn't do much of the activities but feels comfortable and settled. He just moved in in June so he's feeling more comfortable now.

The community is very nice and polite. We chose this place because we knew someone who worked there and the place had a great atmosphere

I am a people person and love that everyone that I have come into contact with at anthology has been kind and helpful, My mother in law is NOT the easiest to make happy and if she could she would sit and do nothing and let everyone do everything for her and complain, and I have told[name removed]that they need to be forced to leave the room and she and her staff are not letting her call the shots and getting them out of the room and not giving in to her, I love that they listen to my concerns and are creatively making them get out of their room.

When it comes to the care services and the meals and dining experience, we have not experienced that yet or used it yet. We are still learning and it seems like a good fit. We have nice neighbors and it is quite.

My daughter picked this community. I'd tell my friend that I really liked it here and suggest she call and make an appointment to come look at it.

We toured Heritage Park Assisted Living and Garden Homes when searching for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility is much older than the other facility that we toured, but it wasn't too bad. The cleanliness and friendliness were fine. It just felt like it needed a facelift.

My dad is currently a resident at Meadow Lakes Assisted Living and Garden Homes. Communication with the family from the staff is great. They keep us informed of any changes. They also take a personal interest in him and his family. The housekeeping does a good job. My dad seems to really enjoy the meals. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

I think we toured two American Village communities. They were both larger than Kesslerwood and, therefore, had more of an "institutional" feel. But the people we met with were friendly and helpful. In the end, two of the big deciding factors for us were cost and location.

This is the 6th facility, I've been in since 2015, so I have a lot of comparison. It's physically pretty inside. Friendly, kind staff, and nice residents.

I like that Mom has the same nurse and aide on a regular basis here at Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living. Mom is fussy and they learn her preferences. I like the restaurant style dining, but the residents often eat alone. The dining hall is open until 6pm, so one can eat or get a snack at any time. I would definitely recommend Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living to others!

Meadow lakes was too far away and it had very few men. I was uneasy with the fact that they wouldn't let us see the memory care unit. Our mom has Alzheimer's and if the Lord calls him home first, mom will have to be in memory care. So seeing it was very important to us. And we were not allowed to see it. So that was a big red flag.
