It's a nice, clean, and friendly atmosphere. The food has a lot to be desired.

My loved one is currently a resident at American House Elmwood Senior Living and overall everything about her experience at this facility has been very good so far. The care provided to my loved one at this facility is very good. The staff is very friendly and engaged. The facility is clean and free of any odors. I would recommend American House Elmwood Senior Living to others!

The reason I didn't give 5's is because 5's would imply perfection. There isn't anything specific they need to improve, but the place isn't perfect. They are willing to work with you to make your family member feel at home.

We like American House Farmington Hills. The staff are great, and the surroundings are very clean. I would highly recommend it to other families in need of assisted living.

Moved my folks in after my dads stroke, and before covid. The activities are great, and they take time with each resident. After covid. They really have done a nice job getting the community together for group activities and outings. Dad has made many new friends and enjoys the music activities and other special events. He also enjoys the meals and he says "they serve good food" the staff is very friendly and they always have a moment to bring a bit of happiness to his day. When my mom passed away, they were very supportive, and very kind.

Our family had an in person tour with American House Westland and from everything we saw it seemed fine, but the community is a little to small for us and the location is a little farther away. Their activities director had recently left, but when we were on the tour there was a gentlemen there that gathered the residents into a room to sing and play the guitar which was nice to see. The community itself is also nice and neat.

It's in a bad location, and a scary neighborhood. The tour experience was good. There are two buildings. The building without the cafeteria was newer, and better.

This is a clean and friendly community. It needs help with activities and meals and dining. I would recommend the staff pay more attention to the residents needs in meals and activities. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and occasionally there are choices for the residents to choose from. The staff communication with the family is pretty good.

The care is good. My loved one is not too keen on the food. it seems less than perfect. I was quite impressed with the overall atmosphere. They had an event for the grandparents which was quite nice. They also had a senior olypmics. I was quite impressed with the amount of participation. The outside decor is lovely. I can't wait to see the Christmas decor. We picked this community because the location is near other family members.

So far the experience has been good. My mom is not very happy, but she said that they are very nice. She just wants to go home. I wish I could afford to have her a companion that could be with her at least at night.

Generally our loved one is well taken care of because we are vigilante and always bring up any concerns we have. We have had issues with our loved ones medication that we needed to go up to cooperate to get resolved which was very frustrating. We also were told that the care takers had extensive and extreme training with memory care patients, but we felt miss lead by that. We have not overly been pleased, a lot of times we see the care takers on their phones and not circulating around the community looking after the residents. However, on a plus the activities director is phenomenal, fabulous and really engages the people and tries so hard to bring on new activities. Everyone at the front desk is great, the place is pretty clean and overall our loved one in content. Hands on care - needs to be more responsive to the suggestions and questions.

Our tour with American House was good but the facility itself seemed to be older and dreary. We wanted a more bright cheery environment.

Our first tour. I prefer the studios in the back building. They are adequate. Nothing too fancy, just what is needed. They do have a fall protocol in place. The price is good. The care is provided by a third party. That is my biggest concern.

We chose American House Dearborn due to the location as well as the value for the money. The apartment sizes at the facility are very adequate for what she needs. I am not sure how much of this is due to covid issues, but my mom was unhappy with the food. Right in the middle of the pandemic they were not giving hot meals and there was not a lot of variety. Now that the dining room is open, it seems that things are improving. The one disappointment is that visitors are only allowed 9-3:30 on weekdays only which makes it hard for family members who are only able to come on weekends. It does appear that they are constantly in there checking on my mom, it seems they give a lot of personal attention and supervision. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

The community was ok, I would recommend you look into this community. the staff was friendly, respectful, and cordial. I would recommend this community to others.

I would tell people to stay away from this community. My loved one was a diabetic. If you didn't make sure everything was there for your loved one, the staff wouldn't do anything. My loved one wandered off and they didn't know that my loved one left the community. They called us asking if we knew where our loved one was at.

This place is a nice smaller facility. Very clean! Decorated very nice and the staff makes you feel like family. My parents are here and well taken care of. This is a very affordable facility, I highly recommend it.

The place seemed out of date and in need of updates. Staff all seemed friendly with the residents. The rooms seemed small and with a ‘dorm refrigerator’ as the only kitchen appliance just not a good fit.

The medical team was good but I wished they would have made my dad do more for himself. He asked them to do things he should have been doing for himself as he is rehabbing from a stroke
