I highly recommend the Freedom Place! My mom had lived with my husband and I for 7 years as her dementia progressed. This past December, she had a fall and we knew we had to find somewhere safe for her to live and be taken care of. The search for a facility was difficult. I was very particular. We visited approximately 10 facilities and I was losing hope. But when we visited Freedom Place, we knew instantly that we found her new home. [Name removed] is the director and I'm sure the previous review was before he took over the position. [Name removed] is friendly, helpful, informative, and gets right in with the caregiving. He pays attention to detail and makes sure things are running smoothly. He takes care of any issues that come up in a caring and timely manner. I appreciate how he keeps me updated on the happenings of the days and provides details and stories about Mom and makes me feel good when he shares things that prove to me how much he cares and really knows Mom now. I had a hard time with handing over the care of my mom to people who didn't know her or love her the way I do. But they made it easy to trust them as I found Mom clean and dressed nicely each day I visited. All of the caregivers are wonderful - [names removed] to name a few - and I so appreciate their kindness, caring, and love they show daily. [Name removed] is the activity director and she amazes me with the job she does. She keeps the residents busy and having fun as much as possible. She knows each resident in detail and their likes and dislikes and treats each person as her own grandparent. She's great at handling difficult situations and making residents smile. As [name removed], she gets right in at the caregiving too. [name removed] just hired an assistant, [name removed], and I already see her embracing the methods used by [name removed]. Because I visit often, I have gotten to know all of the other residents as well. I am happy to see how well they are cared for too. Finding a place for Mom, and no longer having her by my side daily, was one of the most difficult processes I've had to deal with in my life. Even more difficult than caring for her for so long. The people at Freedom Place helped me trust that I made the right decision and that I've found the best place for her. Mom settled in very quickly. She is always smiling and I see that she is happy and content. It does my heart good to know she is safe and well cared for.

Great place! Activities going on, whole facility is secure. Hydration ongoing, 3 dietary references, therapy available. [name removed] the ED is terrific! Place is clean, direct care staff introducing themselves and working well w/residents--many staff there multiple yrs.

We placed our mom here at Freedom Place after her Dr. advised us she needed additional care. This is a brand new facility, beautifully decorated with safe patio areas. The director AK is excellent. His primary corncern is the health and well being of the residents. He cared for our mother as if she was his mom.The staff is caring and professional yet made sure we were updated with any problems or concerns they had for moms care. The food is delicious, home cooked food. We had Thanksgiving dinner with mom that was just like what we would have cooked at home. I highly recommend Freedom Place. Unfortunately Mom passed away but while there she was valued and had excellent care.

The main reason why I picked this facility for my Father is that I liked how all of the residents were always engaged in something and not just sat a table or lying around. Everyone here is very friendly and it’s a very beautiful building. It’s very clean and the décor is modern. It’s nice but it isn’t overly formal. For activities they offer things like trivia games, gatherings, exercise classes, and holiday celebrations. I would recommend this facility to other families.

A wonderful community. I don’t have to worry about my relative because the entire staff takes excellent care of her. Thank you so much.

This is our families first holiday party at the American House in Troy. Wow!! What a wonderful experience. The festive atmosphere was great and everyone was friendly. The staff went beyond our expectations. Clean and organized event. Way to go American House. You guys are rock stars.

I can't even begin to explain how amazing the staff is here at the Troy location. From the very first day my parents were welcomed with open arms and made them feel welcome. The staff made the transition from my home to here easier on all of us. I was truly worried how they would adjust, no worries now. I get hugs from everyone when I come in. THANK YOU EVERYONE HERE AT THE AMERICAN HOUSE.

Excellent staff. Lots of unique and fun activities. Really enjoyed the food. it is only one level and has an outdoor courtyard. This is somewhere that I could stay myself.

I toured this facility and found [Removed] assisted director very professional, informative and compassionate. Listening to my family’s needs and trying to suggest solution for our unique family dynamics.

I absolutely, hand down, recommend this place. I love it, it’s like having a feeling of being in a 5-star hotel, it’s beautiful, and very friendly. With the staff and residents there it’s almost like being a part of a big family. Everyone gets to know everyone’s names and it’s just really friendly. I love the activities director; she promotes everywhere what daily activities that are happening. They put fliers near the elevator, on the wall in the elevator, in my husband’s room, just everywhere. They definitely keep you updated to what’s happening. They do things like balloon volleyball, bingo, they have finger nail day for ladies who want to get their nails done, and happy hour almost every day at 3pm. They also have an on-site movie theatre. The food that they serve is awesome. It’s almost like fine dining at a restaurant. They always have fresh flowers on the table. Every two weeks, those who would like to participate could get fresh flowers and make bouquets. It gives residents something to do and it’s wonderful. They also offer complimentary transportation services. I noticed today that they are taking the residents vote for those who want to. It is nice that they offer this and I notice that they would take residents out to go shopping or regular outings. The facility is always clean and they take out the trash daily. I never smell and odor only during the evening I can almost smell a slight musty smell coming from the laundry room. My husband’s room is on the second floor above the laundry room and it’s just something that can’t be helped. Other’s don’t notice it but I’m just sensitive to that sort of thing.

Facility was very clean, and we were greeted by friendly staff. The residence seemed to enjoy being there. The dining room looked more like a fine restaurant setting, much nicer then just a table and chairs. When Mom is ready this is the facility we have choose for our mother.

American House has been very accommodating. They have done a very good job. The staff has [gone] above & beyond to make sure my mother's needs are taken care of. I am always talking to the residents. It [has] been my observation [that] the residents are very happy. I am now [going] to volunteer. I am looking forward to [removed]. They are very caring & loving. [removed] is fantastic. [removed] does a great job working in the office.

This community is beautiful. First impression walking in was just beautiful! Looking around at the residents there they all seemed very comfortable and happy. Even shouted out "this place is great". Unfortunately it looks like a financial struggle for my Aunt to live there.

We got the chance to tour American House Sterling Meadows and my mother and I really did liked it even though it was not our final decision. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the community's residents seemed very lively and nice as well. Definitely a good option we just chose to go elsewhere beacuse our other option was closer to me and the rest of our family. All in all a great place and option.

The American House Sterling Woods is exactly what we were looking for. The staff, community, and food are all up to par for us. As well my mother's living space is spacious enough for her and her cat. Very satisfied and would recommend for other families and their loved ones.

This is a beautiful newer community which is set-up for Independent thru Memory care. The inside is well set-up and the staff was very friendly they took their time showing us around, the rooms were nice and we had all our questions answered. There were a lot of different amenities for the residents to take part in and I would definitely recommend scheduling a tour here.

Friendly accommodating staff. Great activities coordinator. Staff puts residents at ease and makes them comfortable. On site medical team addresses residents medical issues. Highly recommend to others.
