American House

My mother, [name removed], fell in love with the staff very quickly. The nurses, aides and administrators were quick to help her feel welcomed, valued and respected. Mom loved the food, her aides that assisted with showers and the meal assistance she received when she didn’t feel well enough to go to the dining room. Staff was not adequate on the weekends, in Mom’s opinion. I usually visited on Sundays so the weekends weren’t so long. My visits throughout the week were wonderful! I was always greeted very kindly and the aides always filled me in with any concerns as well as her success! I hope I get to stay at American House when I can no longer stay alone. Thank you so much for all the love through my mother’s final days.

My husband, who has Alzheimer's disease, has lived in assisted living at American House in Johnson City for almost six weeks. He will transition to their memory care unit when the time comes. We have been happy with all the staff so far. Intake was smooth and we have been pleased with the food and the medication assistance, cleaning, and laundry service. [name removed] has made a lot of new friends and there are activities daily that are communicated with residents and their families via monthly activity calendars and emails. A church service is provided on Sunday morning and there are Bible study classes throughout the week. Besides entertainment and educational opportunities, physical activities like walking outside with a friend or in the hallways are encouraged . The residents' safety is taken very seriously, and a huge burden has been lifted from me knowing that my husband is safe, fed, and with friends. [name removed] says that "most every day here is a good day." I'm happy that he is happy.

We absolutely love this community. It is very clean and the staff is wonderful. The food is excellent and they serve a variety of different items. There are lots of activities for the residents. Once a month, they have a family event in the evening, with live music and a special dinner. Deer frequent the area. There is a woodsy asphalt trail that can accommodate mobility scooters or walkers. Pets are allowed. The other residents are friendly and welcoming and everyone seems to get along well. They have a bus that takes residents to various places a couple times a week. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved one.

I would say they are very friendly, open to talk about anything. American house seems to me to have a very caring staff and very attentive. From everything that I hear the food is pretty awesome too.

My dad loves a good steak, and they offered it on the menu when he first came, but they don't offer it anymore. I understand it's expensive, but the could offer it as a special occasionally. My dad enjoys living there, I've eaten there with him several times, and the food is delicious. The staff are all friendly and accommodating.

Great people. I think the meals are not as good as they were when we started. But thus limited based on feedback of the patient.... so it could be based on his 'mood'

5 on all points. What we like the most about Beach House is the quality of food, the staff friendliness and the overall cleanliness. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

We are very pleased with American House. Our family member seems very happy there. The facility is vey pleasant and the staff is friendly and caring. This facility seems more reasonably priced than others without diminished quality.

Sales staff and support staff easily accessible and helpful. The facility is well maintained and the meals are great. The location is easily acceptable to grocery stores, medical facilities and shopping.

What an amazing place for my mom. There are lots of caring staff. She’s made friends and has gotten involved in many activities. It is wonderful that she is allowed to have her cat live with her! She loves living there!

I’ve been a resident here for 7 years. It has a little of everything for every person. You can be as active as you’d like to be. All departments work together to provide a really good experience.

Enjoy living here and my apartment is great. I would highly recommend the independent living side.

We have been very pleased with our experience at American House Kingsport. The facility is lovely inside and smells fresh and clean. The decor is well done. The food is made fresh daily, and they really cater to individual needs and wants. We are thrilled with the level of care received there.

I have no negative thoughts. Place for Mom I give 5's on all. You have been a life saver. I certainly would recommend American House East II to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

American House was a very good experience for dad. The staff was always attentive and seemed to genuinely care for him. I would highly recommend American House Kingsport.

On the memory care clinic side staff was problematic but we stayed with my father 24/7 for the 3 months he was there so we didn't need the support. But if we were not there that could have been an issue. Issues with my mothers apartment, maintenance crew was helpful and engaging.

They are all very friendly and want you to be happy living there. It's beautiful and updated. Other places we visited were dark, drab and very dated. In my opinion, there was no comparison.
