American House

The facility appeared very clean and neat. Our tour guide was very polite and knowledgeable. This was our first visit to any facility of this type and we did it mainly to satisfy a request from our Son. When something happens to either one of us he wants us to have some place in mind as to where we might want to go. American House will definitely be on our short list.

I really liked it and hopefully it might work out for my friend. Marketing associate was excellent in explaining some programs that might help make it work.

The staff have been great, and friendly. Always Looking out for my dad. The cleaning crew is here every day emptying the trash and cleaning the apartments. Spotless. And the balconies in each apartment are nice for him to get air and enjoy the outside. Just has been a good experience. Happy we selected this place.

I would say that over all it was a 5 the staff and food and cleanliness was above what I thought I would see the place smelled good and felt homie.

Only note of disappointment is meds dispensed. Was told we could use up what we had. Didn't happen. After watching and checking how they managed each guest. I understand why Pill bottles take too much time and space. The pop out daily cards solve the problem. Costs are high for everything. This is not the least expensive but the most effective way to dispense that many different meds. Still rate overall experience as 5.

The facility is very well run from top to bottom. They truly care about the individuals that live there. They know each individual and what they like and don't. The events both in house and on road trips are spectacular. If you ask for something a special way it is done and in a timely manner. Both my father and my experience there was wonderful. Would HIGHLY recommend this facility.

We have a bus to take people almost anywhere. Including church. I help some if they need a ride and/or walking dogs. Not sure about others but we have many workers that came here from places because they liked it better . Office people and kitchen servers. They all treat you like friends. Including better food.

American House Somerset has caring, attentive health care staff, delicious food, beautiful apartments and shared spaces, and a variety of fun activities every day! It is a wonderful home for your loved ones.

The Life Enrichment Department sold me! I saw it bring energy, joy and purpose. I saw the team having engaging programs that support wellness, creativity and social connections. Their genuine care helps create this warm and thriving environment.

He really likes it there and is happy with the food, friendly people and staff. The only issue we've had is the unexpected price increase was much higher than we thought it would be. He moved in [Dates Removed]months later, they raised the price 6 1/2%. It's still reasonable comparatively but they should have let us know that was coming.

My Father recently moved to American House on Gleason Road. I could not be more pleased and grateful for the care he receives. From the Executive Director to all staff, they have consistently exceeded my expectations. [Names Removed] create amazing activities for the residents. They seem to have an innate ability to create and encourage participation. I’m a retired RN. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A COMBINATION OF EXPERTISE AND DEVOTION. Thank you all so very much. Vicki

The staff have been great with my loved one and resolving issues that came up. I do feel that the overall price is a lot and I don't like the cleaning fee that has to be retained for when he is no longer a resident.

The activities are keeping my husband engaged. His room is ample size and has good windows. I would absolutely recommend them to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

She likes this facility and has asked to stay here. They do many great activities. My patient cannot participate, but it is a great thing!

A wonderful community that felt very warm and welcoming. They gave us lots of information that was incredibly helpful as we navigate the process of moving my dad into memory care.

I am not sure if it’s a good fit for my mom because most of the people there are in assisted or memory care and she is independent at this point and I think it might be depressing for her to be around so many people who are disabled so I’m looking for a community that has independent living, assisted-living and memory care

Our visits were very good. Overall the place was clean and looks well maintained. The employees all seem friendly and especially the ladies giving us the tour. After our visit here we toured another assisted living facility and decided that American House was the better place for my mom. She is moving in there in the next week or two.

I had an appointment to meet [Name Removed] but upon arrival she was not available. Instead [name Removed] head of housekeeping met with us. He was very professional and gave us a wonderful tour. Understandably, there were some questions he could not answer.

Staff are all very nice also enjoyable to be around. Since we are Independent, there is not much care. There is a person here who you can hire to clean your apartment. There are apartments in a different building for assisted and memory care. Food is good, there is always reason people can complain about. There is one main meal, if you don't like it there are about 8 other choices. Apartments are kind of small but they have one and 2 bedroom and 1 or 2 baths. The public areas are always clean.

Our meeting with their representative was very informative. The facility was very clean. Everybody was very sociable. We decided to lease a two room unit from them for our father and they have been very helpful.
